- The most beautiful lake I’ve ever been to! Join me as I hike up 4,200 meters above sea level to Humantay Lake (Laguna Humantay)! I’ll go through everything you need to know to plan this day trip from Cusco, Peru. This hike is MUST if you are in Peru! I include the items you should pack, types of clothe to wear, tour info, and even hacks that worked for me in preventing altitude sickness. Included:
Pick up at either hotel or Plaza de Armas (I stayed in an AirBnB so I had to meet them at the Plaza) English speaking tour guide
Transport from Cusco to Mollepata / Soraypampa - Mollepata- Cusco
Meals: 1 breakfast and 1 lunch buffet (vegetarian options)
1 walking steak
First aid kit and emergency oxygen
My waterproof hiking boots - these were very comfortable and spacious:

Jacket, raincoat, layered clothing, hiking boots, hat

Can we do this without permit, i.e. on our own. I see you have done with a tour group. Is that correct?
Hi! I think you can, but I am not 100% sure. I just found the tour more convenient at the time because they took care of transportation, food, and making sure we did not get lost in the trails lol
