I love how Duncan and Lewis is having a semi-serious game and Tom and Alex are just trolling
Tom and Alex in the background really make this series. Hopefully one day mathematics can prove that rolling a 4+ is really a 50/50.
I have spent the last few years working at a research center; we have been using AI learning to try and come up with a solution to this, but still no dice.
@@SpaceMissile Well that's your problem! You need to get the dice!
I love the background commentary
If there was an espn for 40k, I'd want these guys to be the commentators.
I'd listen to them commentate actual espn. They're probably just as qualified and nowhere near as annoying
It won't be worth watching when they're playing and not shit talking in the background
They have no idea what they are doing, where's Ben when you need him!?
Multi damage attacks to not spill over to other models, if you have 1 attack that hits and wounds that does 3 damage it will do that 3 damage to one model only (have to assign damage to a model that already has taken damage first) and if that model has only one wound the excess damage is lost. Unless the weapon has a special rule that lets wounds spill over or if the damage is from mortal wounds then they will spill over to other models.
thats not the only thing they do completely wrong :P
I could watch Tom comment on any kind of competition or sport.
He did commentary over the yogs poker games with pflax
@@tommo1999uk >pflax There's your problem.
It would be nice to see a 2v2, or an apoc game of everyone who has an army.
The Apoc game would last as long as a civ game.
Thank you so much for more Warhammer.
Funny to see the comments complaining over Duncan tryharding... you have not seen an actual 40k tryhard player in action. Bringing a list of cool stuff you painted and want to play with is not tryharding.
40k tryhards get you to check the rules all the time everytime you say you are using a rule. just ruins the game
Obviously I don't know about your particular "tryhards", but that just sounds like someone who wants to play by the rules, and is trying to make you not cheat (intentionally or not) by misreading the rules.
ExileTwilight yeah but the thing is new rules in war hammer are released so often so it makes it hard to keep track off. So many players often ignore the rules altogether just to avoid stoppages which is the death of all warhammer games everywhere
I've never heard that complaint about Warhammer, what I've heard instead is a lot of complaining about how *slow* GW is to update their shit. Kinda the opposite of what you claim.
ExileTwilight dude they rerelease the rules all the time that includes the codexes, main rules and add ons
These damn trays lewis insists on...
Battleboys
I like to think before they film this series every episode lewis tells alex "whatever you do just don't stand up for the love of god"
Also, Duncans pile ins and consolidates are completely wrong
I love Alex and Tom in the background... that deep dry commentary... bit like a younger version of Waldorf and Statler.
I think the length of the episode is determined by how long it takes drunkan to get though his glass hmmm...
If Alex and Tom want to provide Statler and Waldorf esque commentary to everything, I'm okay with that
Loving the content guys please keep it up!!
26:59 - Lol I thought Tom was about to ask for a cup of salt water after this comment.
Tom baby rage at the Battle boys title makes me laugh every time I see a vid
4:15 "That's a Victory Point, ding ding ding!!!"
Rescinded!!! That's Numberwang!
17:15 "That's a Victory Point!!"
21:35 "That's a dead dude Victory Point!!!"
We need Alex and Tom to commentate everything
It's not really fun to watch a stomp... But still enjoying the fact that it's tabletop content.
Lewis: Don't use your goddamn Cryptek as a sacrificial speed bump. Orikan ESPECIALLY. Holy shit. That's SO MUCH value wasted by letting him die pointlessly before he goes Super Saiyan and kills everything around him.
Crypteks are supposed to be force multipliers buffing and keeping your other dudes alive. The OTHER guys are more expendable.
If you have the ability to disengage your enemy and shoot them, DO THAT. Always do that.
Also, let's be real, movement trays are terrible. There's a reason they're not used in 40k.
AND STOP FORFEITING UNITS.
Stop saying "oh, well they're all dead"
Stop it.
You're playing goddamn Necrons.
You just need ONE lucky guy to survive for a load of your guys to have the chance to come back to life.
Attacks that do multiple damage DO NOT carry over between models.
4 attacks that do 2 Damage each CAN NOT kill 8 guys. They can kill a MAX of 4 guys. The Damage of each Attack is applied to ONE model.
If an Attack did 100 Damage, it would still only kill ONE guy.
Lewis could use some Tack-It to make his dudes stick to the formation. Then he can easily move it as a group but remove some guys when they die.
BrainAddict Magnets might be a bit more flush and neat, but yeah it would help with those plates any how.
He needs to not be using movement trays.
could always stick some magnets on the underside of your bases lewis, then use a metal tray to keep them on it better
I love Tom too much.
Great thumbnail haha
I would love Alex and Tom painting tutorials
"I love xenos, they make me touch my penos" - Tom
Magnets for your trays Lewis
Always enjoy the videos, but do wonder if any of the Yogscast plays Classic Battletech at all?
Ben

I can't tell if they're all drunk or not haha, they all seem so out of it for this game.
STRENGTH TEN!!!! Fucking hell i should start playing space pups
it does seem like the game was decided before it began but I think that Ducan rulespools didn't all that much change the outcome what with Duncan's luck and Lewis' calls but I have never actually played but that's my outsider opinion. oh and I do like this setup but Duncan is always a wild card and as such should be used as such
i am too lazy to go and dig out my index, but do Wolfen hit in melee on a 2+ or did Duncan forget that thunder hammers suffer a -1 to hit. @--1:18-- Edit- nevermind he fixed it
Tommy Tank and the Battleboys
40k fights ftw keep up the 40k and maybe normal warhammer fights please
holy crap Duncan is 0% banter/rp and 100% tryharding, entertainment everyone!
Change is the only way.
In the next poker thing can it be Tom and Alex just chatting shit instead of Pyrion and Tom?
Do you guys need an Australian to correct your English because I am so willing to write these video descriptions for you, correct punctuation and all (that lack of comma and exclamation mark where a question mark should be is killing me)?
Man Duncan's rolls, those blue dice must be poorly balanced
My Struggle
Thomas the Tank engine.
Duncan is taking this way too seriously and I think it's making it less fun. Also Lewis always giving up way too soon makes it kind of boring when he refuses to give us those impossible odds which change the tide.
I'm almost done complaining but also the fact that Duncan thinks he knows the rules allows him to make mistakes in his favour way too often which no one else is willing to contest because they don't know the game nearly as well. This is a phenomenon which happens so often in games like this and its honestly frustrating because one player bullshittedly steamrolls the other.
I agree in every way. And from the look on his face, I think Lewis knows some of Duncans actions are bullshit but he doesn't want to question it.
elfarlaur don't forget that Lewis doesn't quite understand how movement works, I think. He started the game measuring from the front of his dumb movement trays up his measure to the back of his tray, giving him a whole extra two inches movement
All in all, they're both clueless
the most unfair battle
Why does Alex keep staring at Tom?
Honestly what are Tom and Alex actually doing? :D
They're providing an inexhaustible supply of snark and banter.
Being sexy as fuck
Making the show great
Making the series Great 😂😂
Oh, an that's a bad miss
More rise of a civillisation please, i love this but i love that more
We're getting both, why fuss?
More plz
Just pointing out: I think Duncan is most knowledg here, and even he is messing up weapon profiles
Dark Legionnaire I completely agree, seeing as Tom has IG and Ben has his Dank Angles, both of whom have codices and both can be considered more interesting that them space-age Tomb Kings
❤
What about Duncan - sipping from a crystal glass as the tide of battle turns against him. He is so cool, even when he’s not.
There is a hint of Imperial Guard Commandor to him, yea.
MOAR ALEX PLZ
i feel like duncan would just be no fun to play with regardless of what army he was using
Space marines are too strong compared to necrons. It is one of the worst match ups.
Hopefully their new Codex evens it out a bit but Space Marines > everyone by design. You compare things like the new Tau codex coming up. Xenos "If you attack with this specific weapon at this specific range, reroll 1s on wounds!" Space Marines: Just be near your leaders and reroll failed wounds. And hits. Hey, just reroll everything."
Get Duncan in on the next necromunda turf war...
I feel like duncan's army is more than 1000 pts. but im not sure
also duncan is a fucking tryhard
also i wish the tom and alex had better mics so we can hear them
No. Probably not. Space Marines are cheap. All 3 squads of his Grey Hunters together are probably only about 300 points. A Razorback is only like 70pts. Bjorn's like 200pts. That's 400pts left for a few Thunderhammer guys and a Wolf Lord.
It's actually Lewis that might not have enough points. Just looking at his army, I would've guessed like 700-800pts. Hard to tell without knowing exactly how many guys he has in each squad.
And Duncan's not a tryhard. That's nonsense. He just knows the rules a bit better and is playing them as much as he knows them. Lewis has no clue what he's doing and is doing loads of dumb things like using movement trays to handicap himself, so Duncan is massacring him.
If I was playing either side, I would've wiped the table with whichever one I was facing.
I've been playing Space Marines and Necrons for 20 years.
My laziest instincts are more devious than what you're calling Duncan "tryharding".
For fun I thought I'd nerd out and check. From what I can tell Duncan has close to 1067pts to Lewis 997. So they weren't to far apart.
I love the silent nod from alex
Kind of bullshit isn't it....
More 40k - More Tom and Alex commentating - Less Duncan
This is not a good sign for Yogsquest 8 release times
But they released a new yogsquest 8.
Why do I never get notifications for this stuff
Maybe they should all read the rulebook before starting to play again
RIP Battleboys (and Tom). :(
Dice maths*
Please do more of this, but please learn how to film this better. watch miniwargaming for tips please.
TFW the two people not actually playing are the only entertaining thing in the video.
Tip for lew lew, lose those fuckin movement trays!
Guys please print out the free 8th edition rules and get the correct index/codex books for it. Duncan is using bullshit to win by constantly (most likely accidently) violating the rules.
They had the dark imperium books + 8th ed rules so they at least had that.
also they do have all the correct indexs
This really isn't fun when it's so overwhelmingly one-sided.
I'd say it would be funny if someone just got wiped in one turn or if they had an even battle that relied on strategy more than luck. Right now Duncan is just a better player and the Necrons are shit and hard to play so it's unbalanced but not to the point of hilarity.
I love 40k and I love the battleboys but this was hard to watch, I love that you want to show us this and I realize we have been asking for it, but please at least play a test game or 2 to actually learn the rules before recording it.
f
i think you guys need a chaos player to join the battleboys. mind if i join? ;)
More Tau
Fuck, I loved all of Necromunda, and I really am trying so hard to enjoy this but I can't get past how boring it is and how much it lacks real story. It's all numbers and no story, like holy fuck, compare this to that time that Tom's guy spiderwebbed up onto the roof and silently slit Lewis' sentry's throat, then fell from the top of the building after being shot, got up, shot three shots over the hostage's shoulder and killed Lewis' big bad leader, but the leader got a shot off before being taken down and managed to flesh wound BIMEME(IIUENGIEMFIIGUE, whatever his name is. Just so much character and story, not just;
"12 dice, 8 hits, 5 wounds, 1 save."
"20 dice, 12 hits, 6 wounds, 3 saves."
God damn, so lacking.
Good to know that W40K is still a broken piece of hot mess. Holy crap its horrendous! Kudos to you guys getting through it lol!
lol.. not really.
They definitely played as if they tossed that roll back into a shredder. Not mention they should have actually lookes at their index.
40k is great. They just have no idea what they're doing half the time.
They're still learning.
Well I've watched a few games and have a few friends that talk about it a lot, but it has and always has been a massively unbalanced game. this version more so than ever.
Nah. This edition is only "unbalanced" because some armies already have their Codices while others are still waiting on their Codices and stuck using stop-gap Index rules.
Aside from that, this edition is in no way shape or form more unbalanced than other editions.
I would destroy Duncan with my Grey Knight army
Hey guys I know let's make 3 40k videos that get 10 times more views than the rest of the channel vids, say we'll make more. But then haha get this.....we just make 800 shitty battle boy memes no one cares about
I don't like the new edition of 40K I preferred the previous ones (don't remember which edition it was tbh it was a few years ago and I didn't know the number just that it was a new edition)
The current edition (8th Edition) is actually great.
It's the first truly NEW edition in about 20 years (3.5, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th were all just variants of 3rd edition), so it has numerous flaws and bugs to work out, but for the most part 8th edition is BY FAR the easiest edition to learn and play.
If 9th editions fixes 8th edition's flaws, it will probably be the best edition of 40k ever made.
Right now it's a 3-way tie between 3rd Edition, 6th Edition, and 8th Edition for best version of 40k.
It's all opinion rly it just seems like a lot of things have been simplified and, as a nerd, I don't rly like that
I feel like Duncan has spent a lot more points than Lewis has
Or he's cheating
Duncan about 80% knows how to play and has about 1000pts, while Lewis like 50% knows how to play and may not have actually brought a full 1000pts (hard to tell when I don't know exactly how many dudes Lewis brought.
PLUS, Index Necrons are notably underpowered, while Index Space Wolves are actually fairly functional.
No one's cheating. There's just an imbalance in the experience of the players and their incomplete knowledge of the rules, the strength of the rulesets for the two armies, and MAYBE Lewis didn't bring enough dudes.
Lewis needs a mentor.
Necrons are not an easy army to play even IF you're a fairly experienced player.
there are a few instances of duncan doing shit he shouldn't and benefiting from it, but its probably just because nobody knows better. no hate toward him
Sorry guys, but I'm not feeling it.Necromunda series really good. This i was excited for (as a 40k player) butt hell, not digging thé background commentary end Common guys it's 8th edition not that many Pages of rules to use..please play atleast with basic rulles right.thanks
no you
If you were excited for butt hell, I'm not sure this was the channel for you in the first place.
I'm game for butt hell
I usually love Games Night, but this is really bad. Rules should be read first. :/
They read the rules. 40k just has a FUCKLOAD of rules and they're new to the game. They'll get better as they go.
I feel like Duncan is cheating because he's so shifty when he succeeds. But I don't know enough about the game to know how.
I've played 40k for 20 years. Duncan's not cheating. He's still learning the game to a degree, and subsequently forgetting rules and getting rules mixed up. 40k has a lot of shit going on. It's EASY to lose track of what's what and get similar rules confused.
i hate how kid orientated the yogs are, makes it so hard to watch sometimes (cough when tom wont shut up)
Johnny Iles "well if you don't like it you can Fuck off" - Lewis
They are just acting like a bunch of friends who are hanging out together normally would....
What the fuck are you even talking about?
90% of the time they're not kid friendly at all....
