  • This is a classic Chinese American food. I use prime New York steak with lots of marble on the meat for tender cut and flavor. Slice the beef and marinate for an hour. Cooking time is literally only 3-4 minutes on very high heat. Bon Appetit.
    Ingredients:
    1. one pound of prime New York steak, sliced thinly
    2. 3 tbsp of hoisin sauce (marinate)
    3. 1 tsp of soy sauce (marinate)
    4. 1/2 tsp of sesame oil (marinate)
    5. 1 tsp of starch (marinate)
    6. 1/2 tsp of salt (marinate)
    7. 1 tsp of sugar (marinate)
    8. 1/2-1 tsp of dark soy sauce (marinate)
    9. green onions cut 2-3" long
    10. one garlic minced
    11. one shallot minced
    12. 7-8 mild dried red pepper

I made this for the first time a couple months ago and have been doing so almost every other week it's just that good. I buy flank steak instead and I slice it very thin. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe for a dish I hope to make for many years to come!

Hey Chef Jarod! It's taken me such a long time to come on here and thank you for this recipe. I made it for the first time in 2013, and have made it several times since. My boyfriend just loves it, too! It is such a keeper and I have it written down in my book of recipes just in case this video ever gets lost, I wouldn't want to lose the recipe!
