What. The hell. Wow. This is free Jamie?! I’m shook. As a UK bride who has literally watched your entire channel within 3 months of getting engaged because I’m that type A kind of girl who needs to research everything before I get into it - this is super helpful!
Jamie would you ever make a video on "how to re-start wedding planning after COVID?" I had to postpone my June 2020 wedding and have been basically in wedding hibernation since then. Should I be checking in with my guests/vendors? What if my vendor has gone out of business or isn't available? How do I stay sane when last time I planned, we were totally crushed by 2020!? Love you!
@@JamieWolfer Can you share an abbreviated version of the timeline/masterplan for quick engagements to elopements... like two weeks to a month's worth of planning?
Just enjoy being engaged and then start exploring what you want your wedding to look and feel like (assuming you both want a wedding) in a few weeks. Let it soak in!
I followed your advice for my wedding, it was a hit, I'm telling you. I had a year to plan and it went smoothly as it can be for a big wedding. Planning is everything.
JAMIE, this is amazing! Organizing the videos chronologically by stages in the planning process is INSANELY helpful. I watched a bunch of your videos when we first got engaged just for fun, and now I find myself constantly digging through your old videos trying to remember where your advice on x topic is. Now you're gonna send that information magically when it's time to use it?? You are such a lifesaver.
@Jamie Wolfer Hey, Jamie, can you share an abbreviated version of the timeline/masterplan for quick engagements to elopements... like two weeks to a month's worth of planning?
Thanks Jamie for another great video and for the timeline! Though your videos may be aimed at the modern bride, I'm the groom and find these videos very useful! 😂 I have even been able to suprise my fiancee with things she's not thought about, so definitely have scored brownie points!
Jamie, can you talk a little more about how to adjust this timeline due to Covid? I’m thinking about when to send out RSVPs for a fall 2021 wedding - we have roughly 150 guests but may have to cut down if Covid is still rampant.
Me too I’m planning a destination wedding for August 2021 but I’m only inviting 23-30 guests very intimate but I don’t know if I should wait to 2022 doe to Covid
Hahah wedding planning timelines basically got thrown out the window because of COVID. I got engaged in June and literally had to do ALL of my planning by August because Dec 2021 dates were already getting scooped up because so many 2020 weddings were postponing.
I printed off some wedding planning timelines to give me a sort of map to navigate what we did and didnt want We didnt do it exactly as it specified as 2020 made things unpredictable We had to find a new dj and a whole new venue It all worked out for the best We ended up saving $$ on the venue and our dj was awesome
Jamie, I received your timeline and it’s great!!! However, I found that I’m a couple months ahead in booking certain vendors for my end of summer 2021 wedding due to COVID. Perhaps a disclaimer would help others, because of Covid many weddings were post-poned to 2021 or even 2022. Therefore many vendors will be booked further in advanced or much sooner because of it.
Very key point to keep in mind . I made sure we planned our wedding for August 2022 also booked where we will have them both at . Due to ppl postponing I didn't want to compete with ither couples.
Random question for maybe a future video- are there any plants/flowers that you recommend/would avoid for a wedding? I'm a complete novice and I have no idea what's good for a budget, what lasts or will wilt, fake or real? I know we can go to a florist, but we're at the stage of planning out our theme etc. And it links in quite heavy with what we can afford/go for and I'm a bit lost. Love you and your videos Jamie! This was really helpful and I've already signed up for our wedding in 2022!
Thank u Jamie for your channel. I've been watching you for over a year now. And I just had my wedding last weekend and I can definitely say your channel gave me guidance and less anxiety. Keep doing what your doing, Your so awesome!
Side note: I realize this might be obvious, but, I want to say it anyway - when you delegate tasks to other people, be sure they are _reliable_ people. Sometimes we might be tempted to ask someone unreliable to do something because we feel pressured to include them in the wedding planning process. I know we don't want to hurt people's feelings - but also, you don't want to be stressed out either. Wedding planning on its own is already stressful enough. But, delegating tasks to reliable people will help to mitigate some of that stress.
So true! Our cleanup crew bailed on us because they drank too much alcohol 🤦🏻♀️ Our venue and venue coordinator were amazing We were able to do a large chunk of clean up before the end of the night and came back the next morning to load it all up
Thank you so much Jamie! I am in the early stage of wedding planning, and it has been pretty overwhelming and at times extremely disappointing due to covid restrictions... I just signed up for your timeline email and it was so reassuring to read your encouragement in the email... I literally teared up. Thank you for being a support to all the brides who need this now more than ever ❤
I was so far ahead in my planning and now because of the pandemic I can’t go to the province my wedding was supposed to be in which is only two minutes away! I live in Canada on the border of two provinces 🤪 I guess I’ll download this when I know for sure if I need to find a new venue.
Wow, you're amazing for putting that together for everyone for free! I really appreciate it! People should def get you to be their planner- I'm in MN and don't know if you do planning from anywhere in the states or the world
Been married for 4 months now. I watched as many of your videos as I could beforehand. They really helped. Now, the future people will have a little more guidance 😅 I still love your content! My husband and I still say that if we could do it over again, we would have hired a wedding planner cuz MAN did we need one for the day of stuff!

Nothing stresses me out more than doing nails for a wedding party, including the bride, a week or two weeks prior to the event 😳 Not to mention the members who get regular polish a week prior. Like, maybe if you wear gloves and don’t touch water til the event 😅

I've been watching your videos for well over 2 years, and I just got engaged this past weekend!!! Next on my list is to re-binge-watch all your videos to even wrap my mind around where to start! Hahaha
At the moment in New Zealand, we are having to book around 18 months to 2 years in advance for venue, and at least 12-18 months for a photographer, and videographer.... it's a nightmare
Lol getting married 3 years after getting engaged because of Covid... Plus I used to be a wedding professional so my planning is done and I still have over a year left
I so wish this was around a few years ago when we started planning our wedding (got married last December!) I ended up mising together 6 different timelines (pickign th earliest suggested time for each step in order to get one that worked for us and cutting out a lot of unnecessary stuff (namely anything for the men cause there was only 1 - my BIL). We ended up being way ahead on some things because we had a 3 year engagement due to my wife's med school and still booked our dream venue almost immediately but it saved us a ton because we got the rental fee as of the day we signed the contract and from others who used the same venue the year we did their fee tripled in that time.
Hey Jamie, thanks so much for sharing this timeline! I've had a lot of fun crossing things out that I've already done. And I've realized I probably needed a wedding website 2 months ago... Just wondering what you mean by "Style - 1st round" and so on???
Timelines are out the window atm I’m not putting money down for our aug wedding until I know if I can even have a wedding 😂we got the big things done but still ! We will have to do everything 2 months before 🤦🏼♀️
I am SOOOOOO excited about this but I have not started planning anything and was going to wait until covid was done (if ever) to start. Is this something I should download now or wait until I’m ready to plan?
You can download it now. I downloaded it in June and I haven’t been actively planning the only thing I’ve been doing is the planning timeline and guest list. It gives you a heads up once you have your list when you need to start venue hunting because you don’t want to go to a venue and have them ask “how many guests?” And you be like “well we don’t know we thought we’d think about that later. I had in mind about 150 and now the list is at around 80 so when getting estimates for venues it can make a huge difference if you have 80 or 150 guests.
The only thing I’m having issues with isn’t the master plan itself it’s the having a preferred vendor for video and photo that I want but I can’t book them until the venue is available. But it’s hard because every vendor you talk to rn is saying to keep in mind that because of COVID spots are filling up quick which my fiancé didn’t like because he is a serious person when it comes to business and obviously you’re hiring somebody and paying them so he felt like a lot of vendors are using the fear tactic of “book me this month!” Or “get it now!”, “if you wait til then, we may not be available”. This is my situation currently because our favorite venue isn’t allowed booking or else I’d have those three booked. But it does help you research vendors and how to find the right one. So even if you’re not planning it still keeps you busy and you have a head start once you start.
Is the timeline an automatic download? Just curious since I entered my email yesterday and didn't know if I should have expected it right away or if it takes a while to be sent!
Jamie! You mention when to send out invites and I'm wondering if bc of covid and everything should the invitations and save the dates go out a little earlier for people who would hypothetically have to travel? I'm planning an outdoor/backyard wedding for this coming summer and its pretty hard.
I know I'm a year late to this video but that wedding checklist link doesn't work. I even tried the one from my email from your company and it didn't work 😔
