      Work on some other 51 Cards first. Just get comfortable with it so it’s a repeatable process, not something that makes you anxious. Soaking the card is easy, bringing it back and drying it properly is what you need to practice. 🤘🏼

    Noticed that at some point you went from double mats to single mats on both sides. At what point in the process do you do that? I don’t se to be able to get mine to dry in 2 days so I’m wondering if this is part of the issue on my end.

    • @kurtscardcare
      @kurtscardcare  11 місяців тому

      Once the card is fairly dry and more stable, you can switch to one card mat but that won’t make a huge difference in my opinion. Keep the cart out for 10 to 15 minutes at a time between putting it back between the mats. You can use the regular atmosphere to help dry it. I also have an air-conditioned office that is typically around 70°. The air is fairly dry and I think that probably helps too. Good question.

    How do you determine how long you do a full soak of a card like this? Great video!!

    • @kurtscardcare
      @kurtscardcare  6 місяців тому

      That’s a great question. I find that most of the magic happens in the first 20 minutes. I have entertained myself for years doing stuff like this, and I’ve always taken good notes. If a card is filthy, you might have to dump the fluid at 20 minutes and add another ounce and let it sit for another 20 minutes. But that’s rare.

    • @kurtscardcare

    Hey Kurt. I just ruined a beautiful 1972 Topps Willie Mays. Great centering and corners but it had a little nick at the top. I used the eye dropper technique with your card spray but squirted too much out and it soaked the top corner. I tried patting it down but when it dried the card was stained and bumpy. Any suggestions? Also, what is the cutoff decade for being able to submerge vintage cards in cleaning spray without damaging the card?
