  • Two teams of building movers race against time to relocate two huge Historic Homes. In St Louis, Missouri we follow Expert House Movers who are relocating an entire farm complex of historic structures - including a 500 tonne stone farmhouse - for Rose Heet’s family who are being forced off their land to make way for a shopping complex. Can the team move and save the whole farmstead before the developers move in?
In New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, we follow father and son move team Phil and Jason Leil slice and dice a huge period home into four pieces to move twenty miles across town for the owner who wants to eliminate her daily commute and live closer to her workplace. Can they dismantle, move and re-assemble the whole structure before bad weather strikes?

I cant even IMAGINE the insurance that is involved! The workers, the road trip, the assembly and after its put together that there is no errors. Its insane a company would even THINK about doing this!!!!

Hmm, pretty cool. But... What about showing how they repair the house once it's in position and what it looks like afterward???

Usually just small minor cracking on interior drywall/lathing. Not usually anything hard to deal with or worth including in a tv show.

Unless you’re talking about the house they abs destroyed in order to remove the upper floor. I just got to that part of the video. That... will be a good bit of work to fix. Lots of scabbing on that one.

That was some amazing work to move those massive homes ! It was breathtaking watching 👀 it being moved on video and craming it all in this short video , a small town i lived in and working for the county we had hired a similar company to move a 2 story building that was over 150 years old (it was a train station saloon and motel) .it was even more amazing being so close to it . Me and 3 others built the new foundation for it's final resting spot .

This are real monster movers! Even in the age of laser and GPS technologies the good old trusty plumb and water lines prove themselves always right! Bravo fellas!

Wow! Imagine going through this amazing, almost impossible process …just for the brakes to fail on your crane and end up wrecking the whole place! 😳

I remember seeing that crane incident footage way back like 2 years ago. I thought they were using footage that had no relevance to the project, but I'm surprised to see it is relevant.

You do realize that entire homes were moved by hand on logs and put on wooden barges then floated to the mainland of Newfoundland from small islands during the sixties and even earlier. No trucks, no cranes and no heavy machines. Just pick it up and go. Amazing history to watch.

i am taking a stand against people that say "YOU DO REALIZE"" I hate this phrase. Its arrogant and incorrect. You are actually asking "Do you realize that...?" that is a friendly way to speak to people. "YOU DO REALIZE" this sounds like you are a know it all and think everyone should know what you know. This shit pissed me off! You do realize..NO I dont or I would have mentioned it.. dingbat!

The driver couldn't check the crane. It caused some power lines to rupture, so households could lose power. Living in darkness for a few days even when the hurricane arrives.

Y'know, only one of them wanted the house moved like that (the other home owner tried to sell it but couldn't (I assume she meant at a reasonable price for what the house is worth) and she was okay having it cut up in pieces). But considering a mall developer was paying for EVERY thing, I think good on her being insanely specific. I hope it cost an absolute fortune and the moving company made a huge amount of money from it.
If someone was pressuring me to sell my house like that (just to make money from the land), I'd make them pay for every small thing I could think of, knowing that if the developer had to pay for it, someone else was making money from them at least. ....I'd certainly make sure that a film crew from a major tv station was there to make the bastards too scared of a PR nightmare to screw me over. Funny that.
