That was very useful information! I'm still on the fence regarding the Insta360 X3 and your video was the first one I've seen which addressed the usability of the lens guards in a winter/ski touring setting. Thanks!
I see you have a Honda Element, I had a manual speed Awd. Sold it with 350'000 miles. Living in Colorado when I used to go backcountry skiing, the Element was the perfect vehicle.
Hi! Sweet video, I was wondering how well the battery is holding up in cold conditions? Do you carry multiple batteries, if yes how many and at what rate do you switch them. I'm looking into getting the x3 for ice climbing but if the batterie last only 10 minutes in -20°C I doubt it's worth it. Cheers!
Thanks. I added the selfie stick on the very last shot but it was not so stable. Would be good to extend it a little more if possible. The lifts aren't running yet but can hike to the snow
@@danpets1910 well BC is more north than Romania where I live and usually ski. I hope we will get snow in December so I can try out my new equipment ... The last ski shot in your video seems to be further away but it still looked stable ..
Beautiful footage, but I'm still torn about whether I should get the official backpack mount. I see the extra length of using the selfie stick gave a much more natural look to the last part of your video, but I'm debating if any improvement in stability by using the Insta360 mount (with its lighter carbon fiber pole) would be worth it.
I'm interested to see how their backpack mount works for skiing, but I don't have one. I will guess that my design is more stable since it goes inside the pack and theirs attaches to the outside
It's an extra step in the process. Direction lock and deep track features are helpful. Also the render off the app/phone seems the same quality as on PC which is nice to be able to use both.
Question, I prefer using the camera w/ quick capture 'on'. when I hit QC to begin recording. The camera doesn't automatically default to the 4k 9:16 horizontal setting that I desire. I have a 'quick menu' RIDING saved and checked off. so it will record but appears to default to the 360 5k setting and won't automatically reorient to the horizontal either. do you know how to remedy this? Edit: In other words I want to use like a GoPro Session (I use my Hero 8 like this as well) Saves battery.
best crisp x3 footage i have seen yet/NICE WORK /IM GETTING ONE NOW THANKS TO YOUR VID
Thanks. Hope you get good results!

So much BC powder!! Footage looks really good. Subscribed!
Welcome! I was fortunate to get such a great first day for this. Second day was not so perfect!
Great footage, I think for ski touring it's the go to option at the moment. You already have some great powder in BC ... bit envious ;-)
Oh interesting! I thought you use the BACKPACK mount too! I got one and can't wait to try it
How long does the battery last? Bc the go pro ones last 10 secs

The Element is great! Unfortunate it doesn't have heated mirrors for the winter
Such a perfect tool for capturing your action……act’s like an action camera should.

I was impressed by it. Better than the standard GoPro battery for sure.
so dope
Good video! Did you use HDR ?
Yes in good sunlight, no in the trees
The mount is so short yet you got so beautiful images. ... great ... PS: Nov 1 was first day of the season? i envy you ..

Yes for that part it was smooth, but when I sped up and hit some bumps not so much
Great video looks cool

great video v helpful!
What do you do for a microphone situation with the 360? I wanna get the Rode Pro but worried about getting it wet
Pretty sweet. How was the editing with it?

How do you start recording when it’s on your backpack?
Need to take the backpack off usually. Sometimes the voice commands will reach the mic

Not sure on this one. It seems to turn on in the last setting I was using
Was this 4k@60 or 5.7k@30?
5.7k/30fps
