    This video made me want to dive this cave so badly, simply one of the best cave diving videos I have ever seen. Finally had a dive there this year, so freaking awesome!

    Ah, cave diving with precision and great camera-work. Such small spaces would make me nervous while diving when it comes to those very tight choke-points. But damned if that doesn't look like one of the most amazing and beautiful experiences one could have!

    Very good made video! I dived the system in 2009, as the entrance were very unstable and saved with a wire frame:-)

    Wow! What a great find. Top-notch photography and suuuuch a gorgeous cave. I will have to look for a map of this system on the Internet.
    I don't mind sidemount or fairly tight caves, but I really like caves where the constrictions aren't too extreme but just numerous enough to provide the occasional challenge.
    Anyway, great job on the video!

      Minimum 2 backup lights. For each diver trained for cave diving.

    • @tonydanis1480
      @tonydanis1480 8 років тому +5

      +GTOAviator We do train extensively in "lights out" exercises, even though in my training there's a 3 light minimum (and some divers carry tiny extra lights or cylumes, etc.).
      I've maneuvered out of caves w/out lights just as an exercise or during zero visibility events such as churning silt so thick your light beam isn't even visible.
      As long as you keep a grip on that line and exit in the RIGHT DIRECTION, you're going to get out.
      I actually find the pitch darkness quite calming.

    I remember doing something very similar to this in a cave full of rising sea water, with out any oxygen equipment and I remember thinking to my self, would I be able to hold my breath long enough to swim through how ever long this underwater tunnel might be get out, anyway I took the risk and to me that's probably one of the closest times I have felt being near to death so far, but at least in this video he has an oxygen tank, working lights, and a safety line that he is following so he does not get lost, but yeah even this can potentially be dangerous, some times things can go wrong down their I guess you might be on your own, and it would be time to say goodbye to the world If anything happened down there, but you never know, If you are really lucky the RNLI might come look for your body, or save you, but I would not count on being saved if you are in some underwater cave, a lot of men have perished in them, I don't think activities like this are for everybody, you will be thinking a lot of different things in your head, if you ever did do an activity like this though, and to those who filmed and made this video possible, thanks for sharing, a part of the world, not many of us get to see.

    • @robertfraser5088
      @robertfraser5088 9 років тому +2

      That kick doesn't direct any turbulence downward, and is used to minimize kicking up silt from the floor of the cave.
      Agreed it ain't all that fun on the knees.

      Its carbon dioxide and oxygen that is exhaled by the divers. It can't escape and rise to the surface, so it just collects and forms what you see.

    Very high quality video. We do not think - Equipment cave divers: two tanks, two regulators, two cutting tools, three light ...... and only one very narrow entrance / exit.
    A slight motion the stone and the chances of survival of "zero."
    It is not very beautiful cave. Under water, there is nothing that would be to die for the sake of it.

  • @valentinharasic8275
    @valentinharasic8275 9 років тому

    Why nobody takes out that rocks on the entrance so you can more easily go in? And it's so clear, that isn't sea water right?

    • @sidemountsarge
      @sidemountsarge 9 років тому +1

      The tight passages are "restrictions". They're generally a good thing because it means that you have had to research the cave system in order to dive it and also have the adequate training in order to pass them in order to dive the cave.

    • @valentinharasic8275
      @valentinharasic8275 9 років тому

    Couldn't quite understand why he was kicking his feet like he was doing breaststroke? Surely with flippers on he just needs to kick his feet? That's what they're for surely and I'd imagine it would expend less oxygen.

    • @cherrypieforever
      @cherrypieforever 9 років тому +4

      the kick he was doing is called "frog kick" and it's debatable whether it's more efficient than normal "flutter kick". The main reason to use frog kick is that it propels water up and to the sides, whereas flutter propels water up and down, which stirs up silt on the bottom, reducing visibility.
