Definitely prop the linearis! I'm so glad I did to mine. I did it in water and it rooted amazing! Then I added it to my pot
It’s been so fun to see videos that you’ve done over a period of time- loving that content that’s like gradual! To really see the whole thing through!
Ur plants look amazing regardless of the fact that u changed their environment so drastically. I have plants that, even tho they'r still in the same window, just by moving them 2ft 2 the right or left of where they were, killed them.
Really enjoy ur channel❣
I wouldn't worry about the two alocasia. But the verrucosum, I would cut the top and save - just in case. 🙈
I would most definitely prop the Hoya I have mine an it's paid off they are easy if u just put into the soil I find them thirsty
Your plants are growing so well. They are beautiful. Enjoy 🥰🌹
How do you blur your face?
/smooth
Fern how do I join your discord? I was looking for a link, but didn't see one
today was a hard day for me, emotionally. This whole weak really. I was so excited to see you posted. Really made my day 💕
Thanks for sharing your journey. This is why I never put my plants in cabinets. My plants breathe my air and enjoy the light and temps of my home. I buy small and grow them on in my conditions. If they cannot live that way, I don't keep them.
TOTALLY agree 👍🏼
Why am I so sad listening you talk about your el Choco and knowing its future fate 🤣
That's Right El Choco Red... DON'T Die... MULTIPLY!!! 💚💚💚
I have a Frydek that doesn't live in a cabinet and it is thriving! I think your Frydek will adjust well. Hopefully. :)
Do you rotate your plants to get a rounder appearance.
Oh frick...now I need a frydek. It's GORGEOUS!!!
Are those spots some kind of mites? I have some stunning leaves on a couple of plants with a couple of small random yellowish dots, so frustrating! They haven't grown or turned black, so they're not root rot. Ugh, just don't know.
OMG - how do you get the Frydek to do so well! Mine has 2 leaves drooping low, had put out 2 kids, but they've done nothing. My RH is 70% in my office, so not sure what's causing the drooping?
💚
Will u have a humidifier next to your verrucosum? Cus I have had to move mine into the bathroom for more humidity chs mine hasn't been doing great and my humidity normally is 50/55 sometimes 60, and still not enough. If that makes sense
Good luck. My verracosum grows leaves but doesn't unfurl them.. ugg, I don't have a green house to try. I have a tinie tiny painted lady, I can't wait to see it size up like yours. It's stunning 😍
When my verrucosum puts out a new leaf it has a white thin layer of crust on it. It’s in a bedroom right next to a humidifier. That runs about 6-12 hours a day cuz I don’t always remember to refill or turn it on.
My El Choco started rotting too! I put her from sphagnum into a soil mix because the teetsy flies in sphagnum annoy the fire out of me. Well she started to get root rot so I put her back in dirty sphagnum and I’m hoping I cut all the rotted roots off. I also let her sit in a water/peroxide solution before I repotted her. So far she’s ok. And she’s always lived in household conditions.
Love your planty videos so much. I have learned so much and have gotten many plants that I didn't even know I needed. I really like your green plant stand that has 2 plants on it. Did you get it locally or online? Today is New Years Eve and hope 2023 will be an awesome year for you.
Hi! Love your videos. Off topic, what color/brand is your lipstick?
I recently got a verrucosum on Etsy and it looked roughhhh when it arrived, it had spider mites, and when I took it out of the little square plastic pot it was in, I saw they had basically just squished a super long vine into the pot and let it root. I cleaned it, treated it, and cut off the top of the vine with a node above the soil and stuck it in water. There’s so much vine under the soil that I’m just going to chop n prop. I could probably have 6 new plants from that longass vine😯
Love seeing the journey of the plants for the last three months. Still love the hair. You are so adorable and beautiful
That is the prettiest Dragon Scale I‘ve ever seen! 😍
Loved this video! It was so interesting to see all the new growth over a few months span.
Your forgettii should adapt fine. Mine isn't in a cabinet.
Such beautiful, healthy skin. Jealous
I would certainly prop the Hoya linearis too.
That new leaf at the base may be a new plant from a corm. Not from. The mother plant.
The moment you put out the El Choco Red I got nervous :')
My baby swiss monstera new leaves were growing in crispy too. I've found that misting them and sitting the plant near a humidifier has helped a bunch. Now my monstera deliciosas leaves grew in with brown spots 😬 I'm assuming from overwatering before I bought the plant so I chopped those leaves and am waiting am waiting new ones to unroll. Good luck!
Your makeup at the 15ish minute mark is 🤩🤩🤩
thank you ☺️🥰
@@wildfern And yes to this kind of video 🙌🏽 love the updates over time.
Not all videos need to be instructional. We can all learn from each other's experiences and mistakes. Content can be descriptive, not necessarily prescriptive 😉
i LOVE these progressive videos! so relatable and fun to see someone's else's experience of trial and error- I'd love to spread my plants out allover my home too but so scary >0<
It's great to see how your plants have adapted to normal home conditions
I sure hope ikea reps watch these videos, because they def need to give us larger (taller!) cabinet and shelf options 😅
Haha right - agreed!!
Awesome, love the updates!
Where did you get your green comforter/ duvet cover?
That was a great update video. Glad they're all doing ok.
Loved the video. So glad they are doing well for the most part. 💚🌱🪴🌿💚
Thank you!! Me too 🙏
Yaaay, just in time for my lunch! 💕 I love to watch your videos during my break
ahh perfect 🥰🥰 thank you for watching x
So fun watching your videos while being for lunch break! Blessings 🌱🤍
Awe enjoy!!
Great to see the rainbows shining!
I really like seeing videos of your plants growth n issues, Fern. Overall you're doing a good job problem-solving. I saw a peek of your Silver Sword in the corner n waited for you to talk about it but you didn't, no big deal. It's just such a gorgeous specimen that I enjoy seeing it n was wondering how she's doing. It is my fav plant after all. LOL! Anyway, I appreciate another great video n look forward to your next one. Be blessed, my dear!🙏😇
Thanks for sharing
Hi, what moss pole do you use for your painted lady?
Self watering pole from trofolia.com :)
I have my plants growing all outside and do well. I like to enjoy them outside instead of stuck inside green house and cabinets. Alocasia I usually remove all the tiny leaves at the ends of the plants. Also i have to support them with sticks the leaves are large and they tend to flop down a bit. I notice majority your Alocasia bottom leaves all flopping down especially your Frydek. I usually remove damage leaves so more energy growing onto the new leaves and existing leaves.
Alocasias are always a bit of a struggle. But have your alocasia flowered before? Because mine is putting a flower out and I don't really know what to do
My Alocasia Frydek has always been in low humidity and it's fine. Has never had a damaged leaf. Doesn't seem to crisp on the tips like the others can. Also, I find that it really reaches for the light. I have it opposite a north facing window (This is the sunny side in Melbourne), about 3 metres back and it really reaches for it.
Love this video. It’s been fun to watch. I refuse to buy a cabinet or green house so any plant has to live in room air but I run a humidifier 24/7 so my humidity is usually 67-80%.
I'm scared to move mine out
Of the Chamber. Yours are doing good, so I'm gonna do.
Thx 👍❤️
you should add pothos cuttings to your choco red philodendron, it will help them grow roots faster, this actually works, Love your videos, you teach me a lot
💚💚💚
💚💚💚
I loved this one!!! Definitely gave me some insight, thanks fern💓💓
👍👍
Your plants are beautiful! Question bout your Painted Lady, what type of soil mixture is she in? When do you water her? And when do they get that awesome pink color on the stem ? Did you plant more than one in that pot? Warmth, gratitude & blessings! 🙋♀️💜
Yay love these videos that take place over time! They are very informative, and it’s a perfect journal for others to learn from your experiences. Also, I could tell the timeline started in early March, because of the beautiful sun rainbow 🌈 … The sun doesn’t hit my rainbow catchers anymore, because the sun is too high in the sky right now!😩 This is the only time you will hear me complain about the sun too high … you know… AKA summer in Alberta! (Or summer in the northern hemisphere) LOL 😂 I think by July the sun will start lowering and shine into my windows more… it’s the little things ya know!
You can tell I am from the prairies since I’m complaining like a grumpy, picky farmer! “We need some rain!” … “It’s too wet, and we need it to dry out!”… “We need more sun and heat”… “Its way too damn hot!”
-There is nothing wrong with being picky- right !?!?
😂 🙄😆
I put a decent sized humidifier next to my Painted Lady and a grow light.. her leaves aren’t getting stuck anymore and she’s putting out a bunch of leaves!! She’s beautiful!!!
It’s 9% humidity outside here..and 108 degrees 🤮
9%!!! I think I'd shrivel into puff of dust
@@wildfern I’m almost there.. it was 3% the other day!!! The monsoons will come in early July.. bringing humidity and god willing RAIN!!! People here literally do a rain dance when it finally rains lol!!!
Loved this video with the updates and tips!! Super excited to see how your el choco does after the drama. Also so fun to see the hair growth lol
Omg your rainbow thing on the window looked so pretty in spring...♡ I have downsized my plant collection very much and I feel so happy to see your plants thriving!
I put one Verricosum outside my tent and it’s doing great as long as humidity is good I have humidifier across the room not rite next to it . I just moved my silver dragon alocacia outside tent also , 🤞 Tfs
I'm afraid to take my alocasias out of my cabinet, dragon scale and Frydek already don't ever give me more then 3 leaves, once a new one comes in the old one dies. I'm not sure why or what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions to get them to hold on to leaves?
Love the rainbow reflections from your suncatcher! Your Alocasia Dragon Scale is beyond gorgeous btw. I really want one but I’ve never seen one here in Puerto Rico.
Been waiting for thisss✨️ I've been slowly doing the same thing with my cabinet!🌱
All of your videos are fun, interesting and I learn a lot from them. Thank you very much.
Omg your hair has grown so much that’s so crazy!!
right haha!
Your linearis looks so beautiful and plump! Have been waiting for this video, so excited to watch😍
I JUST moved the michelitziana out of my cabinet this morning before seeing this vid! Mine went dormant last winter so I cut her back and she now has four little leaves. Keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't go back into dormancy now that she's out of the cabinet.
This videos and the repots are SO relaxing yet at the same time it gives me energy to wanna take care of my plants! 🪴🤗❤️ Thanks for the great content!
Can you do a video following your propagation of your linearis? Wanting to do the same with mine soon and would love tips!
Great video as always!! I really like how you structure the thumbnail! 💕🌿
Great video! What was the name of the alocasia that isn’t dragon scale?
I listen to your videos like a podcast whenever I have to water my plants 😂
Now we know... Plants don't need high humidity!
Update/progress videos like this are so fun! Love it!
Love your videos!!!! Queen Olive what a cutie!! Have a great week
Do you get any fungus gnats with the kind of substrate, that you use?
I'm cleaning out my Geckos enclosure, yay now u can join me 🥰😘
That what i did i took few plant out and mine is doing good
Thankyou for being you! And thank you for how much work and love you put into your videos. Your plant collection is my favorite on UA-cam to keep up with!!!
Thank you so much 💚
Your el choco top cut is doing SO WELL! You actually have one or two other spots above those 2 roots that are about to push out roots too! SO exciting!...its so funny how invested you start to feel about other relative strangers' plants when you see them so much in these videos😂💚
Hahah awww I love that others are invested in them too 🙊
How much humidity is your dragon scale in? I want to move mine out of my greenhouse cabinet but I'm very nervous!
I would really say it's fine as long as you lower the humidity slowly :) I have mine and a silver dragon in a room with only around 50% , and it's totally fine and properly growing
Love the 30+ min videos 🥰
First!!!
👏🙌
I appreciate so much when you do updates over several months so we can really see the changes. Especially in your hair growth! ❤️
Hi Fern! I love your videos, I've learned so much from them. I do have a question tho with propagation. I've seen all your perlite videos and I wanted to try propagating with sphagnum moss but I got peat moss, I haven't opened the bag yet but I wanted to ask if that would be similar, same, or totally different from sphagnum moss?
Peat moss is completely different from sphagnum moss! It's more like soil or coconut coir.
@@wildfern should I exchange it then for regular sphagnum moss? I wanted to propagate an adansonii in a prop box style or even in cups like u did the little ones in your videos.
Love the video!! ♥️♥️♥️
You're awesome 🙂.
Love ur videos you are uploading videos frequently yeshhhhhhhhhhh
Eeeeep thank youuuuu 🥰
Yay I’m on my way to get my IKEA cabinet I can’t wait to get it and set it up 😁
Ahh that's sooo exciting Jackie!
