Thanks! Not so many, but a few… Most of the year the temperatures are so high that hiking isn’t really possible, so there isn’t a “hiking culture” in Saudi. Now with more tourists they start to have some guided hiking tours, but I don’t remember to have seen any hiking trails.
Hiking and walking in forests, mountains and deserts are the most accepted, and currently some municipalities in Saudi cities have begun creating bicycle paths. In Al-Ula specifically, there are hikers in the Sharaan Reserve

Hey, the ticket is free, at least it was a year ago. You just have to go to the winter park information centre, they can give you a ticket for the shopping mall and that allows you to access the entire area including the Maraya building :)
We did book Hegra for example a few days prior and also for Maraya you need a ticket to enter the area, which you can get at the winter park information centre for free.

Thank you! From what we found out the civil aviation ministry is responsible for issuing drone licenses but we never reached them! The online form to apply is broken, they didn’t answer emails and when we called they didn’t have a clue what to do… So, we tried to legally fly our drone but failed… :)

The change that has occurred is the ease of obtaining a tourist visa for Saudi Arabia and the government undertaking huge projects to develop the tourism infrastructure and tourism promotion of the Kingdom, as the rest of the tourist countries do. Conservative ideas are at the core of our morals, values, and religion, and the role model for Saudi women is the Virgin Mary and the wives of the Prophet Muhammad, who were modest in their clothing. The Saudis do not want to change what they believe in for the sake of tourists because Islam is a way of life and not just a religion. Different cultures for different countries but just a thought....maybe rather than preventively protecting women as you say the men could learn to respect women and control their so called obsessions. Many many other cultures have succeeded in doing this

If you come with a car it’s not so complicated because you can easily find a safe spot in the car. If you fly, it could be a little more tricky, but usually if you take out the battery the drone isn’t easily visible on the x-ray. To import a drone officially is almost impossible, we tried twice…
Thank you! In AlUla we stayed on the official Winterpark parkinglot, they also have lavatories. Otherwise we camped a night near the AlUla Viewpoint and at the Al Buriekah Rocks. Hope that helps!

Wdym by normal car?cuz small cars always get stuck in the desert so be careful n go w a compaion or a group of ppl who know the land better
If you stay on the main road it’s no problem, but if you want to explore a little more and beyond the typical tourist destinations 4x4 is needed :)
