In Selena Quintanillas concert this exact thing happened. Her management stoped the concert immediately. She then instructed people to calm down and back out so the people could get proper medical attention. That’s what a true artist does. Shows in actions, not just words.

I’ve been to many concerts, festivals. The most violent experience was at Travis Scott at Austin City Limits 2018. It’s exactly as these people described, crowd shifting left right front back as a unit. You can literally get lifted off your feet and be carried because you have bodies compressing on your to support your weight. No-one should have to fear for their lives at a music event, though, people should be aware of the intensity of a crowd and the reputation of a Travis Scott show. With that said, the preparation and ability to help those struggling that night was unacceptable. Astroworld sounds worse than drowning in water. What an absolute nightmare.

Travis should've stopped the concert the second he saw trouble until EVERYONE was safe and secure. I've been to music festivals and it can get intense but I was always able to find a way out. From the video and what people describe, you literally couldn't exit the crowd. I mean you're dealing with panic, lack of oxygen, claustrophobia, and the risk of being trampled. People underestimate how intense and scary overcrowding can get especially when the security/medical staff are unprepared

He encourages the behaviour, but the people still have to do it. Tons of rappers talk about killing people, robbing people, etc that it’s part of their image…but the listeners don’t always do those things and then blame an artist. Travis is totally at fault, he encourages his fans to be irresponsible, out of control and unsafe, but you can’t fully shift the blame of the people crashing the gates onto him. I’ve never seen anything like that in all my years of attending and working security ever. The small number of security was an issue too. There’s a lot of people to blame here, but Travis could’ve stopped and told his crowd to back up and chill like many, many artists have done before in bigger atmospheres and darker settings with less noise.

He saw EMT coming in and out of the crowd, trying to reach towards the vicitims but couldn't. Travis could have said something... Many of his fans were crying for him to stop.
This is not only management's issue but Travis for caring about the safety of his fans.
Again he stopped a concert for his shoe and address his fans to get the shoe stealer.
All he needed to do was stop the concert and have fans look in their surronding to make sure everyone is safe and spaced out. And to have fans make room for the EMT to the assist hundreds of bodies collapsing.

I can’t imagine still being a fan of his after experiencing horror of this scale but you know damn well he didn’t lose 50,000 fans yesterday.

Cancel culture is garbage. People are human beings. You don’t enjoy famous people because they’re good hearted nice people. You enjoy them because of whatever art they bring to the table. If you choose not to support someone that’s fine. But the concept of saying if you support this person you’re also a terrible person and saying they could never apologize or do anything to repair what they did you just want them to never work again is toxic asf to society as a whole. People do change. Everyone keeps saying stop idolizing celebrities yet everyone wants them to be perfect and never do no wrong. That’s not treating them like a human. Not saying just Travis Scott cuz he could be a pos but none of us know him personally to know that for a fact. Same with any celebrity. We see probably 1% of their actual lives and persona

Genuinely, the only time I felt that would've been possible was when the music stopped or if there were a few large guys to withstand the crowd for a second or two to pull them back up
(For context: I didn't step on anyone and I was toward the back of the crowd and if it was that bad back there I can't imagine how bad it was in the front. I did end up in a pile of people on the ground but thankfully since we were towards the back we were able to get pulled back up within a minute or 2)

Fans of musicians like Travis Scott need to hear the wisdom of this woman in another video and make use of her ability to see clearly through the veil. The musicians at the top of the industry, or wanting to be there, would benefit from listening too ... ua-cam.com/video/eG7nhpbqqRM/v-deo.html
It's ludicrous for Scott to attempt to avoid responsibility for deaths of his misguided fans after only briefly pausing to take in the violence and emergency vehicles near stage then going back to performing when at a past show the seeming narcissistic sociopath who displayed no true remorse and did not apologize at all in his response video has brought his show to a stop in past after crowd surfing to accuse someone of trying to steal his shoe, or rudely tell a fan to get offstage, and yet at this show ignored fans climbing on-stage to try to get crew to stop the show.

I’m not even 5 feet…I remember walking through the halls of my kids elementary school, and felt like the crowd of children could overwhelm me, I can’t even imagine this scenario. Very sad. I hope they make more rules/space/protocols for concerts. We shouldn’t have lost these young people who were just trying to enjoy their evening.

Travis needs to be held accountable to the highest degree. Jail time, and I don't mean jail time for 5 minutes. This is not the first time he's promoted violence at his shows, and there's PLENTY of video evidence.
Also the fans need to be held accountable. That's right. People shoving each other into the floor, stepping on one another and not caring. The blood is on your hands, as it is on Travis.
