Sam, how about BMW? I have a 2022 x3, and i have an extra key from a 2020 X3 that was wrecked, any input on how to program the spare key to the new car? BMW says it can't be done...
Dealership for Mercedes’ is the only only option I had, I called all locksmiths in a 50 mile radius (12) for programming each said they would not due to liability.
So Mercedes uses what’s known as das4 the vin has to be unlocked directly by Mercedes itself to allow the programming it is a Mercedes certified dealer only part not even good shops can buy them they have to come to us.
MOPAR rules. got two OEM fobs at the dealer and they programmed it too all for 250 bux here in Fort Worth Texas. remote start and everything 👍 Fuck all you eurotrash lovers thats what yall get for being all fancy. Eat cake😂
Nah, I know locksmiths who can program aftermarket key fobs. All I drive are Benzes. This locksmith I known can even program older Benzes like w140's and w208's.
Not with Mercedes, we've been trying to get a second set because we lost our spare and only the dealer can do it. We've looked at forums everywhere and it seems to be inpossible for anyone other than them.
Yeah my friend had a key cut for a 1970 Renault they used the wrong key to cut at the shop and it got stuck in the barrel and they had to come change the barrel which was a lot more than the key.
What's the name of the program that you program it with You need to get rid of the music and explain what you're doing just sticking it on your hand doesn't tell us much
My 06 Charger RT is old enough it still uses a key with the alarm and lock controls on it. Shouldn't be 1k to replace it but most newer cars have the fancy keys now so good there's alternatives that work and are dirt cheap. Even if they aren't super sturdy and easier to break you can have several backups and still be cheaper. 👍
Used car dealer wanted to sell me Caddy with only one fob at delivery. Or $250 for another - said he had to "find one". Walked out. Called later with "one he had gotten for me".free.Took car deal. Later discovered original owner had scratched phone number on both keys. Yup, trying to juice me out of $250.
$15 key fob $500 scan tool….almost like you might as well pay the dealer to do it regardless . For reference he’s using a topdon Art diag 800 which cost $399. To program a key for context, at Cadillac is $445 with fob 🥴
Everything in Australia is way more expensive, eg, dodge ram1500 door mirror $4600 AUD thats $3020 USD.. its a fucking joke..i always buy my parts from overseas now
In my case I had gotten two keys from a key express van both stopped working shortly after a month. He swapped them both out for me and same issue ended up getting my money back and spending the 200$ extra on OEM keys
But what about Audi? All the reading I've done says no, and no locksmiths can do it. And the dealer is ridiculous... $800 and refuses to reprogram the used key I bought for $20. Anyone have any luck with Audi/VW?
As someone who works for VW, you will not find them anywhere else because if there was aftermarket ones they wouldn't program and thats the reason they can't use your used key because more than likely it will not program.
And new range rover let you configure a maximum of 3 keys and then you need to change the security system and all the keys, that is why it cost so much
Yeah, after watching your video I tried very hard to do the same. But I couldn't find the programming device anywhere. The keyfobs are pretty hard to find as well. I still need them because I need 2 more keys, less urgently, but still needed. Anyone know how to get a hold of these things in West Europe?
Well unfortunately there's a lot of people that trust car dealerships in either sales or parts or repair I'm curious in the comments how many of y'all think that car dealerships are fair about pricing on all the above the mentioned

@samcrac But key programmers are so expensive!
Starts right up and runs like garbage 😂 atleast he is honest

He's a legend, one of the most honest UA-camrs out there.

Needed a Expedition key, everyone wanted 200 to 500. Got a "Simple Key" fob from Lowes for $100.
And the device is 2k 😆
there's a service that sends you the device, you program the key and send the device back
Shit true but aye then you buy it once and market your business to Range Rover customers on your programming services for $500! Win win

Tell us how much the programmer tool cost.
TOPDON COSTS 500 DOLLARS
Keys for my 2015 Equinox at the dealer is $500+ I go to ACE Hardware and it is around $100
Your dealer must be awful because my parents have a 2015 equinox and I just got the key from the dealership for less than a hundred bucks.
@chadjustice8560 the Chevrolet dealer in Wichita Kansas was around 500 when we asked how much it would be
I had to get a cut key from the dealer, my 944 has a steel key and no place around me would cut it for me. Luckily it wasn’t too expensive
Yeah my friend had a key cut for a 1970 Renault they used the wrong key to cut at the shop and it got stuck in the barrel and they had to come change the barrel which was a lot more than the key.
Fit an engine cut out switch so nobody can steal just with the key.

not true. Still not cheap.

I had 5 different locksmiths unable to make a key/fob for my 2012 prius c... other than that one car this is true
I had to order a new key and a new case for my existing key. It cost my just over $400. The dealership wanted $1k.
Mind you not all dealerships are franchised by the same companies and the ones out in the sticks can be a lot cheaper because they have less overheads
No more keys or fobs or gasoline for me. RFID cards and Bluetooth apps. Pure Electric.
In my case I had gotten two keys from a key express van both stopped working shortly after a month. He swapped them both out for me and same issue ended up getting my money back and spending the 200$ extra on OEM keys
For my 2015 Kia, the key must be physically cut with a special machine and then programmed,
If you live close to Mexico head down there and have it done
What machine are you using ?
Friend of mine rented a car and got drunk and lost the fob. 200 for the tow truck and 900 for a new fob. Ouch, expensive drunk.
Love the Shelby shirt 🐍
I think if you loose the master key sometimes that has resulted in having to change the engine management system
Well, if you "loose" it, then just tighten it. Problem solved.
Where are the Ferrari videos
Sam the new ShamWow guy, Vince Offer it’s a compliment he was a great pitch guy. I’m sure you use Oxi-clean
Thought like Microsoft your not supposed to organise things so they're a monopoly
Sam your the man
Doing the lord’s work
😂it's the brand value. The key cost $15, the logo cost $985
do you have any advice of how to fix bmw
Well don't even need to spend money on a car now big savings straightaway 😅🤸😄🤸😆
Best get an extra spare before you need it
Even new range rovers are breaking down , stay away from these buckets of bolts
But what about Audi? All the reading I've done says no, and no locksmiths can do it. And the dealer is ridiculous... $800 and refuses to reprogram the used key I bought for $20.

On my hand 😂😂
Then you’ll need at least a $500 programmer tool.
Which is half the price of one key at the the dealer and way less if you're missing all your keys
@@Samcrac if you miss all your keys how do i clone them? 😂
And new range rover let you configure a maximum of 3 keys and then you need to change the security system and all the keys, that is why it cost so much
@@Samcrachey sam, are you going to answer to lorenzonora?
"oh and it runs like garbage..."
By the time Sam gets the FOB prograned, the Range Rover is down again, will not start even with the new remote.
Everyone knows a Auto locksmith is always better than going to the main dealership and dealership use Auto locksmiths all the time ….
Anything with the word 'dealership' instantly means major ripoff.
You misspelled 'stealership' 😂
Wonder does it work for a Mercedes Benz c230?
Yeah, after watching your video I tried very hard to do the same. But I couldn't find the programming device anywhere. The keyfobs are pretty hard to find as well. Saved my parents $300 getting a new fob off Amazon for their ‘13 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Nobody cares. 😊
@@-Anon-YmousNo one cares about your opinion either.
Thread a long bright ribbon through your key 😅

Hey how much was that scan tool🙄
And it runs like garbage lmao
So I guess you can program this fob using anyone’s car?
Ebay
How bout a new vid?
The name of the car it goes to
And how much is the tool? Lol
How about a key for a 2012 BMW 335i
Im gonna steal some cars with this
Only modern car keys are that fucking expensive anything with the chip in it is trash as far as getting new keys made 😂😂
