One of the few crash tests I have seen where the roof structure remains intact and the driver's door does not burst open. Even the windscreen is intact. Zero stars simply because of the lack of brake assist and lane divergence warning which seems unfair on a budget vehicle.

It’s all about common sense when buying a car. I bought a 2015 Panda brand new but even with the 2011 rating it’s clear a lightweight small car isn’t as safe as a bigger car. I knew that before I bought it but have a bigger car as well. I only use the panda for my work commute on slower 30mph and 40mph roads and the bigger safer car on the motorway. The car is much safer than a motorbike and half the people criticising will drive their BMWs and Audi’s like idiots anyway.
Living in Italy I've seen some accidents with these cars (Since they are so common here) and they have more or less the same level of protection of cars with higher prices but with similar size. Reason why it got 0 stars here is because it doesn't have any automatic safety systems, but what do you expect for a car that's sold at under 10.000€ honestly.

I'll say that I think the Panda and Punto actually did far better than some other brands out there. However the reason for 0 stars is obvious. They don't have all of that electronic "safety" equipment.
Just because it has no accident avoid features, brilliant little car the panda, we where brought up with no airbags or collapsable zones like the panda has, any way if all the other cars have accident avoid electrical features why does the panda need one, no one will ever run into it lol.
I don't think crash avoidance should be included in "crash" ratings. It should have it's own rating along-side, because a 0 "crash test" rating is beyond misleading, it's lying.
_Let's give it a new score._ *Rating: Good - 4 Stars* One star has been taken due to the side collision's effect on the rear passeners. The viewer can see both side passengers colliding with each other in the head region. While this impact can cause damage, it is highly unlikely to be replicated in a real crash. The lack of safety features such as autobraking is a concern, but doesn't effect this test. The viewer also can observe in the frontal crash that the test dummy slumps down in the seat, resulting in the dummy's head being tilted back and pushed against the seat. While this isn't likely to cause serious injury, there is a possibility. Overall, the safety systems of the car activate on time and save the driver from injury- which earned this car a 4 star rating.
Ma infatti non capisco 💁🏼♂️😤 la cellula di sicurezza e robusta si vede e assorbe l'urto penso perché non ha i nuovi sistemi di sicurezza dei pedoni eccetera ma toglierle tutte sembra un sabotaggio
Imagine an old car crashing into your car while you wait at a red light. What is automatic braking and warning going to do? Rating a car specifically for having these active features or not, is idiotic and only benefits the insurance companies who care only if their clients cause damage. Now, I'm not telling that the Panda was the safest car (the video shows the truth), but not scoring a single star from being a 4 star car, is too much when only 7 years have past between the two ratings. It's not even a decade apart.
I actually was considering replacing my Renault Modus with a Fiat Panda, but was really concerned when I heard about the 0 star NCAP rating and ending up buying a VW Fox instead. The thing I don't understand and could someone please explain to me is, why did the Panda get such a high rating in the first place and drop so dramatically in the re-test. If it was the seatbelts not locking up quickly enough or airbags not deploying in time, could it be that the components that were at fault, rather than the actual design of the car, or did the same fault occur in multiple models?

Its the difference between active safety and passive safety. If you don't value something stopping you having an accident in the first place why don't you drive around with your eyes closed?
I met a person who had an accident with this car, he has 13 nails on his knee. I saw the picture of the x-ray plate and it was shocking. Always verify the room that you have in front of your knees when you buy a car and keep the regulation of your seat in order to have room. He is luky he didn't lose the leg.
How fast was he going?
Why??? There are many car with worst structure
I'm not sure why this was considered such a failure. The passenger compartment remained rigid in the small-overlap test, with little deformation, and that's usually the worst crash type.
Probably the forces of sudden deceleration compared to cars that have bigger crumple zones.

Structurally, the panda looks very strong. It is a great pity that FIAT do not invest in this car with the latest electronic kit.
It's still safer than any car with the same price range in my country
I had a big rollover accident at 120km/h some years ago with this car, and I didn't suffer any serious injuries. For the car that presents itself it is very safe.
Let me guess.... No lane assist ? They get into all the trouble crash testing it while they know it doesnt have electronic gimmicks which will give it 0 stars anyway... dutch logic

Basic automobile knowledge and a bit of visual observation on how the car behaves during the test, are more than enough to understand that zero stars is just a fake result
You're telling us that not having belt pretensioner belt loadlimiter in the back, like a car from the 1980's. A 1997 Volkswagen Golf has those two features. You obviously don't know a lot about crash testing. The passenger compartment of the Panda remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings of driver chest compression
indicated weak protection of this body area. Test results showed good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and
passenger dummies. FIAT showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in
different positions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, dummy readings indicated weak protection of the head and neck. Protection of the
chest was marginal. Dummy readings of rear passenger chest compression led to a low score for this body region, and this was further
penalised because of high shoulder belt loads, leading to the protection being rated as poor. Protection of the passenger's neck was also
weak. In the side barrier test, protection of the chest was rated as marginal, based on readings of rib compression, with other critical body
regions being well protected. No pole test was conducted. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated marginal protection
against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric assessment of the rear seats indicated poor whiplash
protection. The Panda is not equipped with an autonomous emergency braking system.

One of the few crash tests I have seen where the roof structure remains intact and the driver's door does not burst open. Even the windscreen is intact. Zero stars simply because of the lack of brake assist and lane divergence warning which seems unfair on a budget vehicle.
It also has 50% for occupant protection.. which is absolutely terrible.. in fact I think its the worst occupant protection Ncap has ever tested. 0 stars well deserved.
I once read on forums that Fian and EuroNCAP had an argument. That may explain why so many of the new Fiats are rated so low.

Why this Fiat Panda have 0 stars? And the Fiat Panda 2012 have 4 stars.... Why?... The market and the money.
The Citroen e-mahari was way worse to be fair
It’s all about common sense when buying a car. I bought a 2015 Panda brand new but even with the 2011 rating it’s clear a lightweight small car isn’t as safe as a bigger car. I knew that before I bought it but have a bigger car as well. I only use the panda for my work commute on slower 30mph and 40mph roads and the bigger safer car on the motorway. The car is much safer than a motorbike and half the people criticising will drive their BMWs and Audi’s like idiots anyway.
0 stars but this car has a max speed like 180km/h. How is possible?
James may loves this car.
it's a shame. I love this cute car

This rating is crap. It does not deserve 0 stars. Just because it doesn't have the latest tech gimmicks...
The impact actually was not that bad and the airbags were fine as well as no a piller deformation!!
the fiat panda should deserve at least 1 star for effort
I'll say that I think the Panda and Punto actually did far better than some other brands out there. However the reason for 0 stars is obvious. They don't have all of that electronic "safety" equipment.
A moment of silence for who uses fiat panda
I don't need it, thank you.
I'd sooner be in my panda in a 50kmh inpact than be on my mororbike, or on a public bus, or be a pedestrian....
Just because it has no accident avoid features, brilliant little car the panda, we where brought up with no airbags or collapsable zones like the panda has, any way if all the other cars have accident avoid electrical features why does the panda need one, no one will ever run into it lol.
I don't think this disurves a 0 star rating a 3 or 4 would be suitable
3 crashes, all three windshields survived without a crack. For me its more like 5 stars
0 stelle? Cos''è un attacco alla Panda? E' una valutazione assurda e senza ragione
No, semplicemente è una bara con le ruote come tutte le auto di merda della Fiat, dovrebbe sono fallire sta "casa" automobilistica
Luckily it will break down before it crashes.

It is actually a very reliable car
Fix it Again Tony! ~ FIAT
Why are you trying to make the panda look bad? It is an excellent, affordable car.
Do not see why it gets 0. Doors still look they can open, roof is undamaged and not kinked.
Looks so safety to me, please compare with any Brazilian car like HB20 2020, scores 0, without sidebags, ESP or anything.
I don't think crash avoidance should be included in "crash" ratings. It should have it's own rating along-side, because a 0 "crash test" rating is beyond misleading, it's lying.
It did not look like it deserved 0 stars. I have seen worse results with higher scores.
_Let's give it a new score._
*Rating: Good - 4 Stars*
One star has been taken due to the side collision's effect on the rear passeners.

Boh... 0 stelle ma la scocca rimane intatta...

Panda is a fantastic car, and whoever says otherwise is right
If they say it isn't fantastic they are _right???_ 🙂
I actually was considering replacing my Renault Modus with a Fiat Panda, but was really concerned when I heard about the 0 star NCAP rating and ending up buying a VW Fox instead. The thing I don't understand and could someone please explain to me is, why did the Panda get such a high rating in the first place and drop so dramatically in the re-test. If it was the seatbelts not locking up quickly enough or airbags not deploying in time, could it be that the components that were at fault, rather than the actual design of the car, or did the same fault occur in multiple models?
because the measurement parameters have changed. As it does not have ADAS according to EuroNcap it is worth 0 stars. Simply ridiculous.
@@powerhp
It still scored terribly in terms of impact protection though, so the 0 stars is deserved.
One can't rape physics. If a Panda-sized car crashed with a lorry, I wouldn't want to be in the car, even if it had 5 scores on any crash test.
