    Great job on this vinyl tag. You bring a very different perspective than most of the other VC channels I watch and I really appreciate that!

    Thanks for a very inspiring album selection ... reflecting a nice and diverse taste for peak performances, backed up by quite an impressive music & vinyl knowledge. Your choices are less jazzy than I could have thought (feared;-). Me being a pop-rock-'boy', I am especially agreeing on the Prince and George Michael parts, as well as The Savage Rose - and though out of my comfort zone, also Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert ... which I would never have known and appreciated if you had not given me the album some decades ago. AND then of course the M. Jackson 3-singles-streak choice. What regards that one, I must admit that my big brother ... later to morph into Captain Phoenix ... again gifted me with inspiration and that I really want to THANK YOU for introducing me to Thriller 'only' 40 years ago! Still remember - and today wonder how it could be - that I was a bit reluctant when you, in our dear dad's HiFi-store 😍, so kindly made me a MC-copy from your all-new album. It quickly grew on me and over the years became absolutely GOAT !! In order to train my underdeveloped jazz-'facination' I will now check out Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley (how can I not, when they have such cool names!) and then also the guy you wished you could have been, Mr. Benny Golson... See you soon for Xmas - where i besides the duck & wine hope to get the chance to enjoy a track or two in your nice vinyl studio.

    Captain Phoenix it’s great to meet you. Thank you for doing a Vinyl Tag response. I really enjoyed your video and you offered so much diversity. Billie Holiday was the perfect break up artist, and Keith Jarret live is so good. I found a great copy of that record this summer. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to more videos.

      Thanks for watching and subscribing, Edwin. And for putting up the questions - they are good and enjoyed making the video from them (it came easy to me).
      Sorry to learn that Rob Walker have been rude (haven't seen myself - on which channel?). He can be quite blunt and doesn't always express himself in a wise or respectful way. I hope you don't take it too seriously - you are not the cause of the criticism.
      I've subscribed right back.

    Hey there. Thanks for the video. You havenow introduced me to some Danish bands that (in Canada) i would have never discovered. I will check out your other videos and give you a sub. Cheers, Darryl.

      Hi Darryl.
      Thanks for watching, subscribing and your kind words.
      If you want to dig into The Savage Rose's recordings, I can recommend the one I show ("In The Plain") and "Wild Child" (1973).
      Happy New Year to you - Claus.

      Yes - Cohen must be among my top-ten-artists (however, I "discovered" him rather late - and never saw him live...).

    NHOP was a huge, huge loss. Yes. 30 years ago while living in Berlin, a good friend was Wolfgang Frankenstein who worked at a camera store. "Frankie" took the photos on that Koln Keith LP. Told me they had nothing to do with the concert and was very happy they were featured so prominently on the jacket. He used that cover photo on his business card. Always look forward to your content.

      @Claus-CaptainPhoenixCorner  Місяць тому

      Interesting info, Geoff. I've always thought that the photos were from the actual concert.
      Oh - and NHØP. Yes, a huge loss. I didn't even mention that I've heard/seen him many, many times (around 50 I think) as a teenager and onwards (Montmartre, Concert halls, My local library etc.). So for me, NHØP was an important part of my way into jazz.

    Nice eclectic choices! Meddle is an underrated lp in the Floyd catalog, love it. Beatles Naked, not usually one for revisionist history, but in this instance, it's actually better!

      @@MarriedtoVinyl Glad you liked it (and yes: it's a bit eclectic).
      Meddle IS underrated - maybe obscured by the dark side of the Moon 😉 (sorry - couldn't help it).
      And "...Naked". Yes: If it had been released originally, no one would have made what was released in 1970.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I have what I believe is the first Savage Rose album. It is great. There are lots of 80s records that I listen to. Not necessarily the hits of the day. I don’t think Covid should be made a political issue. That fact is we were lied to about Covid and almost all the conspiracy theories have turned out to be true.

      Great you have a Savage Rose album (must be the self titled) - I didn't know they really sold outside Denmark/Scandinavia.
      Regarding COVID, I don't know how it was handled where you live. But here in Denmark we had 2 lock-downs (work from home, limited no. of customers in shops, non-essential things - museums, hairdressers etc. - closed). The owners was supported financially so they could open their shops again later. In neighboring Sweden they didn't chose the lock-down-way - and recorded 5.000 deaths more than here (we're 6 mill., Sweden 8).
      In general I think the authorities did what they thought was best (and didn't "lie", which in my opinion presuppose a conscious intention not to tell a truth one knows). But at the time nobody knew for sure what was THE best thing to do.
      Stay safe 👍

      @ I was lucky when it came to Covid shut down. I worked at Miller Brewing. Beer is treated like a food in regard to health and safety laws and requirements. That meant breweries were considered essential and allowed to stay open. In the US shops and stores that were forced to close got no real support. Many small businesses were forced to close.

    Hvad er dine foretrukne steder at finde brugte jazzplader i Danmark? :-)

    • @Claus-CaptainPhoenixCorner
      @Claus-CaptainPhoenixCorner  Місяць тому +1

      Plademesser er tit godt.
      Af butikker kommer jeg tit i JazzCup samt Mint Records (der p.t. har lukket pga. vandskade) og Sound Station (der kan være lidt dyre, men har meget). Har man god tid kan der være gode ting at finde i Goldmine Records, Frb. og SexBeat Records.

      Every man his standard.
      I'd never miss One Size Fits All just because it's later (1975): It's also among the highest rated FZ-albums in any list.
      There's some good stuff on YCDTOSA (at least Vol. 1) and on the "Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar" box as well.
      Stay safe 🙂
