I know this was several months ago but I went there a few months back and the gravestones for Buddy and Ruth are actually at that church you were at. :) they were in the front part of the actual cemetery right as you pull in. If you face the church, they are on the right. People actually put honey on top of Ruth’s grave marker.
Fried Green Tomatoes is one of my favorite movies of all time. The scenes, the music all worked together to make a movie that left such a strong impression on me. I would love to go back to Juliette at some point in my life. Thanks for your video!
Absolutely loved this! Haven't seen Baby Driver, but I love Fried Green Tomatoes! Definitely very cool to see the different locations in their current state.
Wow! I was cheesing from ear to ear watching this wonderful video because Fried Green Tomatoes in my favorite film. I cry and laugh every time I watch it. The film is comforting to me despite the racial tension. I'm a culinary educator and a food writer and I recently quoted Sipsey in my latest writing. But sis, you got me towards the end, I was in tears. I'm adding The Whistle Stop Cafe on my travel list. This was a wonderful video. Thanks. Yasmine
And I just went to the library today and discovered that Fannie Flagg wrote a sequel of sorts to Fried Green Tomatoes!!! In the book it is revealed whether or not Ninny and Idgie are the same person. I'm not listing here what the answer is because I suspect that you might be interested in reading the book and I don't want to spoil it for you. 😉
Omg! One of my favorite movies 💝 I’m actually watching it at this very moment and idgie is now on the witness stand just as you’re talking about the courthouse. 😊
One of my all time favorite movies totally loved this reminded me of when I first started watching you. We were supposed to be at the fort on Wednesday thought it would be a good break before Ricky's Dental Surgery but there were just tow many restrictions just didn't make the cabin prince worth it. anyway love when you do stuff like this will always watch and follow your fun adventures, will be back on 8/1 so far LOL
Did not know that Fannie Flagg wrote the book that was made into the movie. I grew up watching Fannie on Match Game! Shes such a breath of fresh air, and very funny lady!!!💖
I had wanted to see this movie when it first came out but didn't get a chance to go to the theater at the time, figuring I'd get the DVD later. But, as luck would have it, it was the featured movie on a long flight back from Ireland in 1992. Watching "Fried Green Tomatoes" was great but watching it for the first time at 35,000 feet was an experience!
Do you know what the saying “hanging fruit “ is from???? It’s from a song that depicts the true trajectory’s of the south. A wonderful female blues singer sang in in the 1930s about what she saw on a bus trip through the south. It was hanging African Americans. Also the film was later than the 1900s. I do love what you did and I plan on going to the spots you’ve pointed out. I’m a white teacher that taught in Detroit for most of my teaching and have moved to the south were I finished teaching. There is sooooooooo much to BLM. I thought I understood until I taught in Detroit. Look around to who is working, living etc to the area your in.
Greetings from Argentina!. This movie is on my top five all time favorites. After watching the movie back in the 90's I bougth the original Fanny Flags book. The story is a little different from the movie, but still amazing! Too bad the Whistle Stop Cafe was closed when you made the video! Thanks for you comments on #blacklivesmatter I totally agree! Idgie and Big George were family... This movie really touched my heart and still does.. I really like to visit US south, Georgia and New Orleans mostly. Thanks for you video!
Thank you for this video (I am a Fried Green Tomatoes fan), and thank you for being a stakeholder in the fight toward racial unity and equality! Much love to you both!
What a nice adventure, and do I sense a touch of color grading?😁? Just want to express how you guys are a beacon of positive progress and both such beautiful people, keep up the good fight for what's right!
There is some color grading. 😆 Thank you for the sweet words! We feel similar about you guys. We're glad you're part of our lives. Hopefully, we can catch up in person soon!
I watched another video that showed the gravestones with little jars of honey on them so they are there. But I can't remember if they are in the graveyard or somewhere else.

the movie mostly took place in the 1930s and 1920s I believe - and in the late 80s.
Thank you for this video (I am a Fried Green Tomatoes fan), and thank you for being a stakeholder in the fight toward racial unity and equality! Much love to you both!
