In this video, Dubspot Instructor Cliff Callendar aka SentZ takes us into Live 9.5 and demonstrates his approach to slicing and chopping up samples in the redesigned Simpler using a custom Slicing preset he created. Learn how to use Simplers built-in Warping capabilities and 'Slice to New MIDI Track' feature to chop up samples into a custom Instrument Rack that works perfectly with Ableton Push for laying down some MPC-style grooves. While offering up some solid production techniques, Sentz also shows us how to take advantage of the all new filters included in the 9.5 update to create that classic lo-fi retro tone ideal for styling hip-hop samples.

You can manually chop the sample's start and end points (and loop start/end points) from Push 1 hardware (first four encoders), right? When you go to Device mode? Thanks!
Couldn't wait any longer for you to bring that fader down that digital distortion was starting to get to me haha. Nice tutorial tho 👌
I want to buy either logic, protools or ableton to record live guitar solos over chopped samples. Do you see any reason to get one over the other?
This is exactly what I'm trying to do in ableton live 9, is there a way to do it with just your qwerty keyboard?
yes, use mappings
