      I have this one on order £201 plus £50 shipping and then possible c/tax but they are a good tripod, yes it's going to cost you a few quid more but at least you get what you're after, the customer service has been very good so far www.sunwayfoto.com/e_goodsDetail.aspx?gId=1551

    Looks a really good tripod, and that fact it folds down to 52cm will make it so much easier to carry on the backpack. I will look forward to seeing the levelling head for this, as and when Sunway release this also 📷👍

    Hi Paul, did you get longer spikes ?

  • @martinpickard5818
    @martinpickard5818 3 роки тому +1

    Think I’ll stick to my Benro Mach 3… all but the same length when closed,it’s lighter,it’s higher when extended,it has no centre column so sits dead flat,not as wide at the top (don’t need a level head) and it has a levelling bubble,which in a lot of cases you never use anyway the spiked feet are longer and I don’t have issues with air.I do prefer the look of the shims on the legs but this appears to be almost £150 more expensive than the Benro.Just not worth it.Perhaps you should do a side by side comparison….enjoy your videos Paul.Thank you for your time.

      I love my Benro mate it would be hard to replace, but this is smaller than mine and i feel will be much nicer when i get the base attached to it..

  • @Forthejoyofphotography

    Seems like a very good Tripod. If I was buying from scratch then I would seriously look at this. I can only find the US $ price. Likely in the UK, it will be a $ for £ equivalent so expect the price of legs alone to be around £579. So I will stick with my Benro. I bought their latest Benro Rhino Series 3. I did purchase the Sunwayfoto geared head (managed to get a brand new one off ebay for £148). I do like that head.

      ebay prices have shot up by 20% in the last few months or so. At that sort of prices we are well into the Gitzo territory. I know where I'd put my money.

      @@paulcomptonpdphotography I don’t think it’s necessarily overpriced. Just if one has spent a fair bit on other tripods already it would be difficult to justify buying this just to add to your tripods unless obviously money is no object or doing it professionally. Alas for most of us including yourself. I am sure the former holds true.

    The SunwayFoto tripods T3640CM CF tripod is $539. I've tested 6 different tripods, including the RSS TFCT/Anvil series 4 tripod. For half the price the Sunwayfoto tripod T3640CM tripod at least meets the quality and reliability of the RSS TFCT tripod (Series 4). Other "delighters" for the Sunwayfoto tripod comes is it comes with a beautiful carrying bag and spiked feet attachments. The RSS comes with no carrying bag and no spiked feet. My $100 tripods comes with a case and spiked feet. However , if you want a RSS case and spiked feet attachment will will cost you another $191. After spending $1,485 for the RRS tripod and it not coming with a nice case and spiked feet were just a little disappointing.

    • @paulcomptonpdphotography
      @paulcomptonpdphotography  3 роки тому

      wow how much ill have to look at this RSS send me the link.. plus what do you use at $100 i dont trust cheaper tripods as a rule in high wind extra

    • @harrymiles2906
      @harrymiles2906 3 роки тому

      @@paulcomptonpdphotography The link to the RRS is ReallyRightStuff.com. They came out with a rifle product line called S.O.A.R. So look there for products for rifles.
      As for the $100 tripods I was taking about I bough the Shadow Tech PIG03110G tripod ($100). It's part of their Hog Saddle Kit. The other $100 tripod I had was on a BOG DeathGrip. Both have spike feet and one came with a nice bag. Again, not a big deal but when you pay $1,485 for a RRS tripod kit and have to spend another $191 to get a case and spike feet it's kind of a turnoff. I can say the RRS TFCT/Anvil-30 Kit is about as good as it gets as far as tripod kits go -- but you pay for it.
      Sunwayfoto has a similar rifle product line with tripod kits with a low profile ball head that has a level locking ball head to compete with RRS for half the price. The ball head isn't as good as the Anvil-30 but for half the price it's a good ball head. The Anvil-30 ball head locks your rifle in place like its in a vice.
      As for the Sunwayfoto carbon fiber tripods for around $500 compared to the RRS tripods for around $1,000 I'd go for the Sunwayfoto tripods every time. I've got 2 Sunwayfoto carbon fiber tripods I have tested and shot off both and you can't tell any difference between the RRS and Sunwayfoto tripods.
      Here's my story on how I went from $100 tripods to $1,000 tripods. I had a custom long range rifle built and I got interested in tripod shooting -- not know anything about it. So I order a BOG DeathGrip ($139) and it wasn't ever going be a precision tripod to ring plates at 1000 yards. So I stepped up to the REAPER Grip Tripod kit ($340) and it didn't meet my expectations for a precision tripod to ring steel at 1,000 yards ether. Not what these tripods were designed for precision shooting
      Then I order the Hog Saddle Kit ($800) and it didn't meet my expectations either. The Hog Saddle kit mixed and matched parts, like playing Mr. Potato head, with their system. They have serious tolerance mismatches where the Shadow Tech M-Lok plate rocks vertically up and down in the Sunwayfoto ball head locking plates. The Hog Saddle Kit is just an unstable design. Systems trying to mix and match parts from three different vendors, just creates an unstable system due to tolerance stack-up and manufacturing tolerance mismatches. Sunwayfoto was impressed with my writeup they asked me to evaluate all of their rifle product lines. So they sent me two tripods, two ball heads, a leveling head, their saddle as well as various adapter plates and accessories to test. I know I just wrote a novel but perhaps someone can get some insight out of it. Regards.

    K&F Concept are not going to be happy with your endorsement of the Sunwayfoto tripod. I am a big fan of 'L' brackets and have just obtained a Sunwayfoto dedicated L bracket for my Nikon Z5. It is the best designed and manufactured L bracket I have ever owned.

    One point of irritation, the price; why was this omitted from the review?
    Personally I would never view a review for a product which I couldn’t afford, or justify the price of (such as a tripod costing more than a month's rent).
    Not rocket science, but would at least allow us mere hobbyists to switch off when applicable.

    • @paulcomptonpdphotography
      @paulcomptonpdphotography  3 роки тому +1

      It was a mistake when putting it together when i noticed it was to late... Ill find the price and add to the discription.. to me price i dont care about i paid over £500 for my Benro and it stands the test of time, and so if its what you want the price dont really matter.. If you can only afford cheap tripods then i would go without now and save up... I do many K&F reviews on lower prised gear haha.. This is between £400-500 ask me in six months if i think its worth it?

      @@paulcomptonpdphotography I don’t know if it’s a British thing or not about prices, but to me it seems to be the case when viewing an item or a product review, how much does it cost?
      I’m sure we’ve all come back from a holiday, and one of the first questions asked was how much did a pint cost (hopefully that’s not just me asking).
      Kind regards.
