SUNWAY FOTO T3640CM / T2840CE - Incredible Tripods! (long term review)

Sunway very kindly sent me two tripods over 3 months ago and I've been using them since. The tripods are the T3640CM Master Series Carbon Fiber Tripod - a 4 leg section tripod with top tube diameter of 36mm. Plus the smaller, lighter T2840CE Explorer Series carbon fiber tripod with centre column, 4 leg sections, and a top tube diameter of 28mm. These tripods are incredibly strong and light, and are ideal for anyone looking for a reliable and robust tripod setup without it being crazy heavy. The smaller, lighter T2840CE has a centre neck column that is very well designed and probably the strongest neck column I've ever seen on a tripod. In fact, even though this tripod is marketed as a 'compact travel' type tripod, I actually use this for my big heavy wildlife lens setup. Sunway also sent me their Gimbal Head, the GH02 which is just super to have for wildlife shooting. They also sent a pan and tilt photo head which is just a beautifully made, silky smooth head that I love. This is an honest review based on my usage and though I highly recommend these tripods, I still point out a few areas which I feel could be improved. Hello! Could the Tripods you show be used to photograph on the ground? In practice, I am interested in knowing if I can photograph at ground level with the tripod with its legs completely open. Thanks

i bought a similar tripod - kingjoy, from an uk website. i swear it looks the same as your Chinese version. hope they last. anyway, they costs as much as a manfrotto, benro, etc. price should be lower imo, to choose this over an established brand

OK, similar for sure but not the same. Yeah, the price of the big one here is the same as my Manfrotto but honestly, it's way more substantial. In general, they would be cheaper probably.
