the different animation style in this opening just made it seems like each style represent its own country (for example youjo senki gritty style may represent the tougher more brutal German's and violet evergarden smoother style represent the more elegant England's), the fact that each anime soldier's wear different color actually makes the whole opening more cohesive yet also colorful, all of this ended up not making it seem to be a mish mash of multiple anime
I'm an anime noob, entirely new to the stuff. Can you explain to me or send me a link about the different styles like the one you mentioned? Do some animes youse the same style or does every one has it's own unique style?

studio ufotable 2 popular series demon slayer and fate stay night, but be warned that fate stay night is not anime noob friendly because of many variation/versions, this is a good side by side comparison since they are both created by the same studio, but becomes very different because of conflicting art style,
attack on titan (though a bit tough for beginners) as a series also works, the first half and last half of the series are handled by different studios, so you can see comparisons of art style where 2 different studios area animating the same anime, but because of each studios different skills and preferred way of animating becomes quite different
other good examples are mob psycho, one punch mana, hunterxhunter (a bit dark on some parts), nisekoi, danmachi, naruto, one piece, bleach. if you want something darker then death note, parasyte, neon genesis evangelion.
'full metal alchemist' and 'full metal alchemist brotherhood' can also be used, they try to keep similar art style but each has different feel because you can view them as 2 different parallel time line, where 'full metal alchemist' is focused on drama and a grim/complicated/heavy reality with an anime only ending, while 'full metal alchemist brotherhood' is more action packed and more light hearted with the same ending as the manga/comic
violet evergarden and youjo senki (saga tanya of evil) that are included in this video are based off similar era (ww2 era) but have different feel

Nah If you try to compare the helmets of ww2 you would see that violet evergarden is more to the German side
I understand it's stylization, but looking at a Sten gun doesn't eem very elegant or smooth to me.
I was kind of disappointed by the Cold War sequel series. They built it up like a proper sequel to the first two series, and I was excited to see two of the protagonists go from comrades in arms to bitter enemies, but the action scenes really didn't live up to its predecessors. The Korean War arc started things off pretty well, but it felt like setup for a main event that never happened.
And let's be honest: the entire Vietnam War arc lasted as long as it did because of how easy it was to animate. There were a _lot_ of reused jungle textures, and they only brought in their fight choreography A-game for the Tet Offensive OVA (the same guys that did the Kursk episode and the Desert Fox spinoff series).

It would still be a pretty neat medium for teens or even adults to have a look see at an anime-fied documentary of WW2 or even WW1 and they can learn from it and stuff. It doesn't have to encompass all parts, but enough to give basic knowledge of what happened and incentive to check out stuff in history. Neat.

and the last episode when the American's pulled a magic trick out of their ass called (Nuclear Bomb) is just plain idiotic writing, if such a weapon existed in the lore then why wouldn't Germany have it when they were the top Scientifically advanced nation ?
I am glad the anime stopped, since the manga has USA and Russia going to war, without going to war, and they send vehicles to space .... complete genre change and disrespect to the fans.

You have to pay attention to the early seasons, Hitler explains why he attacks Russia, it was the plan all along.
But Hitler attacked Russia earlier in the war why would it be in the last episode?
My favorite was the D-Day arc, the animation during the Normandy landing episode was incredible.
Honestly the Stalingrad arc was better, Normandy arc is too overrated. However the Kursk arc is not as well know but is pretty good

Ah yes, I remember my grandpa once told me a story about how a teenage girl came outta nowhere and started kicking his platoon's asses when Japan invaded our island. He realised he had no plot armour so he backed off from the fight and survived.
Imagine an anime like this, seen through nine different perspectives, an American soldier who was in Omaha beach during D-Day, a British soldier who survived Dunkirk and later becomes an RAF pilot, a French Soldier who survives the blitz and becomes a resistance member, two German soldiers, one on the east and one in the west. A Russian solider who sees everything from the winter war to the battle of Stalingrad. An Italian soldier who fought in Africa. A Japanese soldier who gets injured in Okinawa, and sees the nukes fall on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And finally, A second American soldier in the Pacific front who was part of the Island Hopping campaign up to the Japanese mainland. And any of them on the same front will eventually cross paths, and possibly even end up dead.

It wasn't until season 3 that America started getting involved, and the memorable American parts didn't come until the last three seasons with Midway in season 4, D-Day in season 5, and the bulge in season 6. This is the intro form season 2 around the Maginot parts.

They used that as a copout a couple of times, most infamously in the North Africa spinoff miniseries, but they kind of inherited that from the original manga. Rommel was intended to be a relatively minor supporting character, but he was such an unexpected hit with the fans that I think the publisher was a bit premature in pushing the artist to produce a spinoff with him as the lead when he already had his hands full with the last arc of the main series.
That's was done to make Soviet troops and Stalin like badass scary anti-heroes in future

The"Battle of England" arc is so underrated. England is one of the greatest Underdogs in shonen history.
Battle of England literally had over 80% of total enemy kills by polish and czech pilots.
If 80% of kills is scored by less than 5% of planes you are an underdog with a few elite troops, if those elites are foreigners though you go from underdog to a fucking joke playing soldiers with others bailing you out...

@@mareczek00713 Not really, if Britain hadn't give Polish troops a safe place to flee to, they would have all died at the invasion so... yeah. Your claim that the 145 pilots of the various Polish Squadrons shot down 80% of German aircraft just isn't accurate.
In actuality the 3 top scoring squadrons of the Battle of Britain were all British Spitfire Squadrons, 603rd and 609th which funnily enough were Auxillery Squadrons and scored 58 and 52, the 41st scored 48 with the Polish 303rd with its Hawker Hurricanes coming in 4th with 44. Which in itself, is an incredible achievement. They were famed for their manic hatred of Germans and their near suicidal attacks. The top foreign ace was josef frantisek with 17 confirmed kills, but the overall aces were Archie Mackellar and Eric lock on 21 kills each.
The top 3 were German fighter interception Squadrons and the 303 was a bomber interception squadron hence the slightly lower kills the official overall statistic was 4.7% of all German aircraft shot down. They did an amazing job, don't tarnish them by spreading false facts that depreciate your history and Britains, it was a team effort.

@@idkwhyihaveyt8686 while yes that’s true, you also have to realise they were fighting a war against China (almost infinite People to the Japanese) and the British Raj (Skilled mountaineers) they would eventually have to slow down and the Imperial Japanese Navy couldn’t be everywhere at once and would either face off against the US Navy or the Royal Pacific Fleet, both of which were incredibly fucking busted.
It is really the best series i've ever watched. Right now im at season 3 and i really want to know, how this "Battle of Stalingrad" ends. Its ongoing for 35 episodes straight and it would be really funny, if Red Army will actually win this battle, because they had like no chances at the beginning and now, when the germans got to the city, which was named after the USSR leader Stalin, the battle started to look indecisive. That would be really powerful ending of the season but still i have 5 episodes to go, so pls, don't spoil in comments!
Oh, you'll love it! This is the battle that will decide the USSR's fate. If the Germans win Russian morale will be broken and they might not recover. If the Russians win they might have a chance to push back. The eastern front might be my favorite arc honestly.

Yeah they aren’t gonna make a ww2 anime. It would involve acknowledging some...uncomfortable subjects and heaven forbid actually confronting the grotesque and horrific reality of industrialized warfare.

They easily could, but it would not present WWII exactly as it was. I doubt it would dive very heavily into things, like most WWII fiction.
There is one serious ww2 anime I know of, "The Cockpit" a 3 episode ova mostly about aerial dogfights. One episode is from the perspective of a German pilot, a kamikaze pilot, and the last about two Imperial soldiers in Guadalcanal(I think? can't remember what battle exactly).
Especially coming from Japan where they seem to gloss over that part of their history.

Did anybody notice the pikelhelm? Some of this is actually WW1. (Unless it's the Volkssturm during the late years of the war, on the outskirts of Berlin, but looking at the landscape it recommends more long-term fighting on the terrain like WW1)
The French troops also had the blue uniforms and that was from WW1.
Love this. Animes about war are the best. Thank you Japan as always. Many other nations wouldn't have the spine to produce these animations.

China produced a piece, "Blood and Heart", on the fate of Japanese settlers in Manchuria during and after the 2nd World War. Worth a look.

There are so many stories of so many soldiers that nobody hears about, it really is crazy what these soldiers risked for the sake of the world.
Why don't they actually make an anime like this, would become one of the best anime.
It is from anime, it's just that the main chatacter in these anime have superpowers, magic, or is a witch. If they make a ww2 anime with charactet that has no special power, they are just going to die when charging into enemy lines

@N. Tensity may I recommend , the anime "Saga of Tanya the Evil," deals with capitalism, theology, and nihilism. It's a war anime, although there is a bit of magic- but it isnt some slice of life.
