The Medic in the Marine unit is referred to as a Coreman although he is offically a corpsman and is actuaally a sailor. In the army he he is a medic and a member of the army
It feels like the CoC mechanics fit this setting well, especially with the Far East rules for dense terrain. A jungle game needs some sort of scouting mechanics like the patrol phase, and some way of reflecting the different levels of training and motivation of the troops, plus the difficulty of commanding separate groups if they are separated from each other.
If the medic is good he is a core man. A bad medic is a corps man? Fun game Alex, we have played DMZ with mixed opinions of them. Primis took a great interest in Tiny!
Lol, cheers. Yeah, I think the issue with DMZ is the amount of junior leaders, which bogs stuff down a bit. I'm only going on what I've been told, rather than playing it myself. Tiny gets plenty of attention already, lol
Do you have any interest in Cold War 15mm gaming? The battlefront Team Yankee models are gorgeous but I haven't really found a game that ticks the boxes for me yet. Seven days across the rhine and battlegroup northag/centag come close, but the battlegroup books are hard to get ahold of in NA and very expensive. I have two fully painted cold-war 15mm armies burning a hole in my game dungeon!
If US Marines/ US Navy, then the medic is a 'core-man' (sic)/ corpsman. The Marines retained the M14 for some time into the conflict. Would that make any difference in the rules?
@@theDexMcHenry Sorry, I also forgot this was the CoC Vietnam, Not Charlie Don't Surf, I don't recall an entry for M14s in the armoury, but it would be similar to Garand, I reckon anyway.
This is the issue with not releasing videos months after they are made when I ask for comments, I've completely forgotten what I asked and what all the comments are on about... 😂😂😂
@@StormofSteelWargaming The M14 could be fully auto, with a 20 round magazine, but generally used on semi-auto mode because of lack of control firing at the higher rate.
It really depends on whom they are doing recovery; if he is dead it is a corps-man, otherwise it is a coreman. And if you are using M14's you should really roll a d10; on a 1 it hams and on a 10 the grunt s far too busy sweariung at it to use it. (ua-cam.com/video/pL-dLeWvbss/v-deo.html)

Oh yeah. We need lots more Chain of Command Vietnam!
Anyone who runs, is a VC. Anyone who stands still, is a well-disciplined VC!
Great stuff - always enjoy seeing some VN action. Really looking forward to giving this variant a go.
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it!
Very well set up game, would love to see more Vietnam
Amazing table and battle report! I can’t wait to watch the next one!
Thank you!
Yes definitely like to see more 😊
You got it!

All those aspects are easy enough to do. Most if it already exists in CoC and the Far East handbook.
Cool as always. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice report! We’re enjoying Nam 68
Looking good sir!
Thank you! Cheers!
That’s unfortunate, son.
Marines didn’t use the m113 incase you wanted to know.
Nice Report, when John gave you the preliminary rules was anArsenal Table provided?
Cheers, yes it was.

No, I don't, Vietnam is as modern as I get really.
I'm planning some 15mm Cold War games using Chain of Command and Force on Force. Need to finish painting my forces first.
Great game
Thank you!

These are Army... LOL. There is a rule for using obsolete rifles, but I don't thin k that counts with M14s...
@StormofSteelWargaming Ah, in the army it is pronounced Medic! ;-)

Alex its pronounced "Core-man" its mirrors the Navy medic title but for the marine unit ( iirc at one time they were Navy attachments)
When you said a Vietnamese version I assumed I’d need a translator to understand! 😂😂😂
That's why there's subtitles.
Hope these rules get released soon.
They may be in one of the Lardy mags.
How did you make those rice patties?

Cahder not cardray; and the 12.7 is often called a dushka. App's to anyone who speaks either Sov or USMC bette than I do.
I think it’s a Vietnamese War version of CoC, a Vietnamese version is quite distinct. 😁 Though very impressive if TFL have managed it.
I wrote Vietnam War version, but autocorrect sabotaged me and won’t let me edit it.
So now you see how I made the mistake on the first place... 🤣🤣
@@StormofSteelWargaming btw Great AAR
Thank you!
As a former jarhead, it's pronounced "COR-man." Are these Flames of War 'Nam figures?
Cheers, I suspected as much. Yeah, they are all from Battlefront
Mate, could I ask what brand those buildings are. Look great. Cheers.
Thanks they are from Sarrissa, their jungle ranges, but I've added details to them.
@ many thanks. Did you need to seal the mdf first before painting or did they take paint readily.
@@watchingbrief7072 no, I never seal MDF, I like the slightly weathered look of it when painted straight on.
Will these CoC Nam rules eventually be made available?
@@watchingbrief7072 I'm not sure, but John said he may put them in this year's Lardy Mag.
