Debussy - Arabesque No. 1

- After the piano was properly tuned and a few attempts, here is the recording of this first piece by Debussy.
It was incredibly rewarding to open the doors to Impressionism in my series of studies with this initial composition by Debussy, which bears strong similarities to Romanticism, yet has clear signs pointing toward Impressionism. The "andantino con moto" tempo is somewhat tricky, with the composer asking for numerous tempo changes that can either make the piece drag or rush. In my interpretation, I tried to find a balance that captures the intoxicating character of this piece while maintaining a lively feel, without leaning towards an excessively fast tempo. I’m happy with the result.
This was undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable pieces I’ve played to this day, and a milestone on my current piano journey. I dedicate it to my beloved Sabrina, who asked me to study something by Debussy. My dear, you have excellent taste. Here it is, for you, from my heart.
This recording was made in September 2024 on a Yamaha U1J piano with a Shure MV88 microphone.

@@TrabalhosParaescola-kl4sg thank you!
Absolutely beautiful playing😊 Debussy one of my fav (all way too difficult for me now) but such a joy to hear someone play them so well.
I'd love to hear you play - Chopin nocturne in E minor
Chopin nocturne in C#minor
Chopin Berceuse (lullaby)
Scarlatti sonata K380
Edward Elgar Salute D'amour
Mozart sonata K331
I am wondering if you've played these already but if not, what a joy it would be to hear you play them (that's if you like them!)
They are all on my wish list to learn in a few years.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful Debussy piece😊😊😊
Thanks for listening! I love all the pieces you listed, and i'll definitely work on some of them soon -- Chopin Nocturnes, and Scarlati sonata 380 are coming in a near future!
Fabulous playing 👍👏

Working on this one now. I’m a bit of a Debussy fan. You have it down and I have a long way to go. Nice work and I’ll be using this as reference.
@@JS-hu7pv thanks much! And I'm sure you will enjoy this piece. Its truly a joy to play.
