Emt’s and paramedics have always been so underpaid. An ambulance ride costs on average $1200 before Covid! I don’t know what they pay now, but it has been horrible EMT’s made about $15 /hr before. For all the training and dealing with Covid, crazy.
@@wradale7 I’m sure they have a work for us for a blank amount of time to re-pay your learning expenses policy. Which is only fair. The bottom line is if they paid $20-25 an hour, they would have plenty of EMT’s. Hell with inflation it may need to be $30/hr.
@@relyenterprisestx To think that Emts deserve to be paid 30 an hour is insanity. Paramedics maybe. And I'm an Emt lol. Yes ambulance rides are expensive but guess what? So are life saving medical supplies, ambulance maintenance, station upkeep, taxes, etc. Medicaid doesn't pay for even half of the emergencies we pick up so we eat the bill on lots of transports. If you don't know the down low then why are you commenting?
@@scholasticbookfair. that’s the problem with our medical system in America. Half the people don’t or can’t pay, so they charge the shit out of everyone who does. That’s why we need single payer system. We are already paying for it anyways in higher medical bills. You deserve $30 an hour in NY LA and other markets. I have auto detailers that make $30/hr that work for me. Don’t under estimate your value. That’s what it takes to pay rent and buy food/transportation in a big city now.
@@relyenterprisestx Sorry Emts have minimal medical training. 30 an hour is bogus. 20 is an acceptable number though. Most people don't live in NYC or LA
@@scholasticbookfair. hell in Dallas right now QuickTrip is paying $15-17 w/benefits to start for gas station clerks, Amazon even more. But whatever, people who are in trusted with our lives should make $20 while all medicalhospital systems are posting record profits year after year. This mentality of what normal working people not being worth more is a cancer. What happened to trickle down economics?
