    Hi The Paramedic Coach, I'd like to start off by saying that this channel has helped me immensely with learning about EMS. I begin my EMT class in January, and I am looking forward to it. A question of mine, is that when your driving the Ambulance, you are given the GPS to use to get there. However, I have heard that one of the worst things for a new EMT is not knowing how to get to the hospital in a timely fashion. So are you able to program the GPS to get to the hospital as well?

      @alekryde Рік тому +3

      You can, a lot of people use Google maps as well. But one of the most important things for a beginner EMT is to drive around and get familiar with their service area, which depending on where you live can be quite a bit. Know where your major roads go, some of the minor roads that get you to those major roads, and where the hospitals in your area are. And that is something that will come easier with time and experience

      when you're new you can use GPS, bring a phone mount. But - in your first due especially in a 911 learn the area and different routes

      @TheParamedicCoach  Рік тому +3

      I also recommend, when "off-duty" getting to know the roads, on/off ramps etc.

      This also truly depends on your service. My service has a crew phone you can see the address of calls, and we have a Ipad as a MDT that you have we can use maps. So its all dependent on your service.

    I have seen your videos. Ty so very very much. I was a past EMT 1993 for 4 1/2 years. Wish I had videos UTUBE to get me through everything I didn’t have all the updated technology as today🤨 Had to keep calling dispatch if lost! No GPS. Back then probably one of the reasons I quit. Bad call one night Call out in the boonies Middle night I will never forget had to ask PD escort due to MI patient I had to quit Got patient hospital ok Thank God This call had too many turns basically no red lights But home residence very difficult to get to. Plus I had no hydraulic stretcher back then But anyway thank u for all your videos

    Just a thought, should the finger holes on the cabinet doors be at the ends and not in the middle?

    I noticed that your ambulance has a way to access the driver's cab from the back, Is that a useful thing to have? where I live our ambulances have a separate cab and back with a small window to talk through
