The 2 yellow heads are supposed to be Kyle (Isaacs dad) and Felix's dad supposedly. The red is Felix and Jennas mom the fire adept. Although Felix and Jenna's parents could have reversed roles you get the idea. How else would Felix be a Venus adept and Jenna a Mars?
The red head is Felix's and Jenna's mother. Apparently, after you destroy her (the red head), the Doom Dragon is unable to use Mars attacks in its last phase, because she is also a Mars adept and you pretty much get rid of the Doom Dragon's only source for using Mars abilities, unlike the Venus element for which the Doom Dragon has 2 sources, which are the 2 fathers.
Hey Omega, I just noticed something, one of the charecters looks like the one you play on golden sun Dark dawn, which I have, so how is he in dark dawn? Default appearance / cameo?
Cruel Ruin is pretty sweet because it uses Summon mechanics. Basically how Summons work is that they have a set damage power they use, and then they have a multiplier added to them. Using Cruel Ruin as an example, it's a Venus attack with a base power of 200 and a damage multiplier of 40%. That damage multiplier is checked against each character's HP (so Cruel Ruin will /always/ do at least 40% of each character's health in damage, plus whatever damage that base power would do). That's why Cruel Ruin does way more damage to a higher leveled party than a lower leveled one. Interestingly, the only other Enemy attack in either game that works like this...is Avimander's Mars based Star Mine (35% Damage Multipler...at a paltry 35 Base Power, so not quite as intimidating). Dragon Driver and Outer Space are straight damage skills, (120 and 200 Mars Power respectively)
Anyone else realized that the Doom Dragon stops using Mars abilities in its last phase due to Felix's and Jenna's mother (a Mars adept) being destroyed at the end of the second phase (the red head)?
As a kid, there was honestly nothing more satisfying to me than watching that final head go down... Or more soul crushing than realizing you just brutally killed your character's parents
Was it really soul-crushing? I never found it that sad. It's not, like, Bridge-To-Terabithia-ish sad, because the parents were only minor characters and, the player is presented with almost no chance to become emotionally attached to them. But I will say that the way the aftermath scene of the battle is presented excellently. The gloomy, melodious soundtrack when the truth is revealed, then the tragic-sounding track when the Adepts realise they cannot save the parents, followed by strategic use of silence as the characters curse the Wise One, denouncing him. The whole scene is so tense, dramatic and memorable... But later, the heartwarming reunion and farewell (enhanced by tear-jerking/heartwarming soundtrack) when the parents are revealed to have recovered from their injuries. :) Such a well-rounded and sealed ending to an epic journey. :)
I remember when I first beat this boss. I was extremely happy and excited. I was totally wrapped up in the story. I even cheered. Then I remembered Saturos and Menardi and how they fused into the Dragon...and then my heart sank when I saw Issac's dad and Jenna's parents. And how I cheered at finally killing them. It wasn't the dragon anymore. I hated the Wise One with a passion after that. I still do. That was an extremely dirty trick. I cried a lot. Lol And then I was happy again after the actually ending. If you don't have Iris or Catastrophe then Eclipse it's your best choice, it sustainably deals 1k damage and it's very cheap to prepare
Hope that Octopath Traveler will be as good as GSII !
@TheLilchristopher I assume you're referring to either Isaac or Garet looking like one on the characters in Dark Dawn. Well most of the characters in Dark Dawn are the children of the GS1 and GS2 protagonists including the main character, Matthew, who is son of Isaac and Jenna.
