You mentioned that bottom tree gunslinger increases stability I believe, but through some very light testing I’ve noticed that I don’t think it helps stability on TLW hip fire at least. I was wondering if you could into that or if it’s just me.
This gun is one of the reasons I like destiny....I'm terrible with this gun and I figured "I just haven't mastered it yet" and started practicing with other guns in the game that benefit/penalize you for hip-fire use (Tommy's matchbook, dmt,) which helped but after watching your video, I'm going to try and lower my sensitivity and see how it goes...thanks for this video!
As someone who has used this for over a year I fell in love with it and believe you can get good with it. It’s a fun and cool gun whether or not you are good with it.
It's one of the reasons I started playing as Hunter when game dropped on steam. When I saw MPedit feat bakengangsta (yeah, i know thing about him), I just felt in love with solar hunter.
I think the biggest thing I had to get used to was to not aim down the sights in gunfights. Once you master a gun in destiny, it makes a world of difference and ppl take notice...I know some guys who love using sunspot in pvp that have grown accustomed to the muzzle flash and the recoil. They slay out with it and get messages afterwards because ppl are not used to seeing that gun dominate in pvp....BTW, saw a world of difference lowering the sensitivity the last few days. Cammy was spot on for that tip. Also helped with my sniper aim so he hit two birds with one stone on that as well.
I really wish they’d give this gun a bit of love on M&K. I understand why they nerfed it in the first place but a bit more ease of use would be enough to make me run this again.
All they had to do to nerf it on mnk in the first place was drastically lower the body shot dmg so you couldn't 4 tap. It's basically as oppressive if not more so now on controller as it used to be on mnk. I honestly wish they just removed aim assist and bullet magnetism altogether from both mnk and controller so ppl would actually have to aim.
A DMT video in this style would be greatly appreciated, especially if you cover input devices in the same manner. Note: try DMT with promethium spur on grace warlock. It slaps.

I’m late to this conversation, but yes, I totally agree with you on TLW+shotty (slug shotty for me). It’s so much fun and engaging when you have to close the gap - even in the new Crucible sandbox.
You know, Cammy, I need to thank you. This video was so very informative and I've tried applying quite a lot of them with the DMT as opposed to TLW and it helped me out a lot. Thanks for everything, as usual.
Me and my clan play on console, and I love last word I always say it’s the best gun and yet when my friends use it they struggle to do well. I never knew why that was I just assumed I had some weird affinity for it until you said that lower sensitivity was better for tlw, and I realized none of my friends play below 5 sensitivity (some significantly higher) but I play and have always played at 3 sensitivity since it was the default sensitivity and I’m just used to it. Everything makes sense now
I raised my sensitivity a few months ago from 5 to 7 (aiming in) and 10 (hip fire). I tried the last word and it felt off. I wasn’t hitting as many shots as i used to. Im definitely gonna try lowing my sensitivity for the last word next time i wanna go off
Hey man just wanna say I play at 16 sensitivity and I can aim just fine with tlw!! Maybe cause I just love that weapon and Ace of Spades just soooo satisfying
I struggle with movement on consoles, specifically with being able to quickly slide mid engagement. I think a video on controller movement tips would be pretty rad! I have a ton of respect for the effort you put into your own proficiency and teachable moments for the community, thanks for making content!
I think fundamentally if you're running the standard control scheme it will be very hard to get good at movement. The jump button takes your thumb off the stick and makes you have to reorient yourself before you get fighting. You probably are going to have to remap your jump to a trigger/bumper/ or something else to keep your aim firm while also allowing you to manipulate your movement stick.
Holy... looking at old footage is jarring. I don't know how it was so easy for my mind to get to a point where seeing white ammo bricks seems inherently wrong. It hasn't even been that long since the change and it already seems so alien to me.
I like using the gun because it makes me feel skilful, and even when I wasn't good with the gun I just thought it was fun, really does make you feel like a cowboy trying their best to be the best shot with the gun.
I recently told myself to only use Last Word and a sniper for a couple weeks or so and see how much better I can get with it. I got inspired from when Cam did a month on middle tree arc strider so I thought I would do it with my favorite gun in the game. But I got moved to pc about 2 months ago and this video has showed me some tips and tricks on how to get better with the Last Word. So thanks for the video Cam. :)
Great summation Cammy! Putting complex subtleties into simple context that we can all understand and benefit from. I'll be heading back into the crucy and trying this weapon on a lower sensitivity. Thank you 🙏🏼
I think at the end you hit my exact problem with Last Word on the head: DMT does the job better right now. Maybe if they give LW a catalyst or just a regular buff, but I'm not sure it's something that can be solved with a simple numbers change.
The way I see it, they gave DMT to m&k players to make up for Last Word being better on controller. That being said, they did incrementally buff hip-fire grip which indirectly buffs Last Word for m&k players but it'll never be the same as the monster that DMT is now even post-nerf.
@@AvenonPlays I want to main the last word since on pc it shows true skill, I can slay out with dmt but it’s scummy as fuck to use dmt especially after the buff
I’m a Last Word main in console that plays on a 12 sensitivity. My personal tip is that you don’t always need to fire in full auto. Learn the weapon and what ranges to full auto and when to tap fire. It makes the gun feel like it has way more range.
I agree with most of what was said in this video, I just have to say, sometimes on M&K you do get actual ghost bullets. I decided to test TLW with a friend of mine in a private lobby in both M&K and Controller, and even when the crosshair was straight in point on M&K, most of the time the first bullet will hit (a couple of times it will miss), and the rest are just s coinflip (even with a bit of downtime between shots to adjust the crosshair). I recommend just not going for headshots if you're on M&K because aiming for center mass has a much lower chance of missing.
For PC players, some monitors have a feature that allows you to put a permanent dot/crosshair at the center of your screen. This will give you a better sense of where the hell your bullets are centered for better aiming (plz bungie add custom crosshairs).
I've started using Last Word on MnK and it's been feeling great tbh. Thanks for the tips because this brought me back to trying it and sticking with it.
I don't get why people say Mnk is easier or controller is easier, it just doesn't make sense. Each input has their own strengths and weaknesses, ultimately falls on your own personal skill
Because people get superiority complexes based on input. I play controllwr and my brother plays mnk we both get a huge laugh out of the argument. Like you said strengths and weaknesses.
its bc some of mnk players thinks that aim assist in controllers are op but its not they don't see the weakness in slow aiming and poor movement but i can get it the aim assist on controller is so op in last word (i tested both). but and the end of the day play on what ever u want and have fun :)
Oh you wouldn’t believe the amount of MnK players I hear crying and moaning about aim assist on controllers as if their input doesn’t have its own massive set of advantages. The movement on MnK alone creates a gap that controller can’t close no matter the aim assist and bullet magnetism. These players are top level PvP players to boot and I hear it all the time.
@@TerraTheWise yeah exactly destiny isn’t a game that aim is everything, movement is a huge element to play good unlike other games like valorant or csgo which aim is almost everything
I played a lot on controller and only recently really made the switch to MnK. I've found 1-2 sensitivity is better for players who fill the anchor role more often, 3-5 sensitivity is better for breach roles, with 7-8 being full shotgun ape. Cammy is right about LW not having magnet bullets and recoil issues being the issue on MnK. Its a similar issue when using SMGs on Controller, most SMGs feel really weird and wonky on controllers. Its a different tool and different tools make certain things harder or easier to use.
Great video as always my man. I think the biggest takeaway from this is that end part, it doesn't matter what is the "best" weapon or input device....just have fun, this is a game where we get to be Space cowboys! what is there not to love.
I love this Hand Cannon despite not liking to use hand cannons in general. But I personally found it to not be useable since it's nerf on M&K. I totally understand why(it was completely dominant), but I do really wish it still felt good to use. Sometimes I wonder if they just reduced the magazine to 6 bullets if they could bring back it's usefulness. It would force you to invest is expensive mods or use of your exotic to get the most out of it too.
@@DefinitelyFroggyDioBrando Yeah I know it's already low. I feel like I would rather it be consistent or reliable with an extremely low magazine than it's current form though.
just a tip for those who use TLW on m&k and dont want to pace your shots, if you're right at falloff damage or over it you're going to want to aim your crosshair over the head of your enemy. because of recoil and crosshair displacement the shots end up hitting either the bottom most part of the crosshair or just below it. if your crosshair is dead center on the head and you go full auto youll hit maybe 1 or 2 headshots, after that itll count as body shots. Those 1-2 missed headshots are the decider to either winning or losing your duels. especially since you only have 8 bullets in the chamber. like i said this is only if youre right at the damage falloff point/over it and go completely full auto. otherwise, pacing your shots negates the crosshair issue
Yes always move your sticks together when I'm using assault rifles I move left stick left and right fast to basically get rid of that wobble feel for your eyes and it let's you focus on hitting head throw in a crouch half way through a fight to counter an enemy aiming to your head and then move either left or right to make them miss more shots while trying to re-adjust some people spam crouch while in hand cannon duels you miss they hit 2 ur dead
Cammy being a life saver as always. I was challenge to only use the last word in crucible until the end of the season, and every tip i can get is really useful. I'm really enjoying myself with and old cammy composition were one friend is a missile titan for entry, a wall hack hunter and me being a well of radiance warlock with a sniper and TLW ^-^ (I recommend give it a shot ;D) THANK YOU CAMMY!!!
Something I would love to see Cammy try out is last word with a grenade launcher. In particular, either a truthteller or empty vessel with disruption break, especially with lucky pants. Since season of arrival, this has been my main loadout, and while I definitely wouldn't consider myself in the tippy top of the elite, I've found that I can hold my own against some of the cream of the crop when I execute the playstyle well. While I'd agree that sniping is really the best pairing with last word on paper (and honestly, snipers in general are the most powerful specials in the game imho) in terms of covering all ranges, pairing it with a grenade launcher allows one to not only gain additional range out of last word, but to become an incredibly dangerous 1v1. Further, I honestly have yet to find a build that is more consistently capable of winning 1v2+ scenarios aggressively, especially with disruption break. With disruption break, your gl goes from being a one shot tool to the ultimate primer, allowing you to clean up multiple targets from a single grenade, and given that the perk lasts for five seconds, you can even pre-break shields around corners to make telegraphed pushes much easier to win. I know Cammy likely won't see this, but given his extensive usage of fighting lion, I know he's quite adept with grenade launchers, and he was actually quite fond of orewings maul and antiope d in the past. If you do see this Cammy, I'd love to hear your input about this pairing, and would be ecstatic to even see some gameplay should you deem the idea worthy of deeper exploration. Also, I'm on console BTW, so that definitely changes things.

I’ve done what you’re talking about on controller on m&k using raw accel. Low sens high accel allows faster switching without sacrificing precision for tracking. I personally use the natural gain accel curve
Last word has been my favorite gun since before d1 came out, I idolized it in the destiny handbook that was released before the game itself was lol this gun is strong and I will always love it
It depends. they mainly nerfed its hipfire range, meaning that at a certain distance, you'll experience significantly less aim assist and damage. so.. you just need a feeling for when to hipfire or ads. Also, i personally found that a lot of strafing speed helped me a surprising amount. wether it be for me being harder to hit, or me being a person actually aiming a lot with movement despite being on mnk already... its a shitton of fun.
This guy speaks the truth. If you’re getting killed by TLW, on PC, chances are you’re up against a pretty decent PC player. I use it because it reminds me of a time when games didn’t have assist. That? Coupled with only hip fire? it’s damn hard to be consistent with this gun, unless they’re running a straight line at your and not zig-zags/ dodging. It’s especially Satisfying when you can get those airborne kills with it. I guarantee you people don’t mistake me for a controller player, unless I have a real good round. Otherwise I miss too damn much using it but it’s so rewarding when you do hit the mark. Also, similar to what he says in the video. I keep my Windows mouse sensitivity to default (middle setting) and keep Destiny 2 sensitive set to 10 and from there I cycle between my DPI mouse settings for different load outs. So at 1800p gaming? I have my TLW DPI at something like 900-1100 DPI, if I’m not mistaken. It might even be 900 now. Because I was scaling back from 1300, to 1100 and found out that slowing it down further was even better still.
I find it hilarious when people complain about someone backpedaling with a LW/smg/sidearm/DMT like youre suppose to just run towards the rushing player.
The last word being optimally used as an auto rifle on K&M... ....you've successfully explained why I love this gun so much as an auto rifle user. Beyond just the fact that my hipfire aim is literally more accurate than my ADS aim. I really need tommy's matchbook. edit: I really do think last word needs a little bit of bullet magnetism on K&M. But just a tiny bit, a very small amount, not a lot. Keep it a more skill-based weapon, but make it a tiny bit more consistent in a game that is filled with aim assist everywhere and fast paced movement.
Been playing TLW on M&K for about 3 weeks now, and I'm in on almost 2k Crucible kills. Using it with Lucky Pants and Igneous Hammer, for Comp Survival, Trials and casual Crucible. Works absolutely fine, my performance has literally spiked with this setup compared to any other before. TLW on M&K is just as extreme as on Controller, just the recoil kicks off hard. But it's managable and if you spend the time to learn it, it is / you are going to be a monster!
Thanks for the intro about letting ppl play on whatever device feels comfortable. I as a PC controller player always get bash for using one and its just sad.
I love my custom thumb stick curve settings on my elite 2 controller. I do exactly what you described, low sensitivity for first 75% of movement, and extra fast acceleration for the last 25%.
@@cfreeses I’m not following. So under the stick setting on the app, where do you have the notches (more to the left or right?) do you have them on default, linear, instant ?
TLW is so damn rewarding when you reign it in on MnK, you can seriously duel most 140s at their optimal ranges. Palindrome is probably the outlier. I would say it's 8 bullets hurt it the most on MnK. if you ever need to send bullets down in an emergency you'll find yourself on the short end of the stick. Tap firing is perfect for me, you can slow down enough to stay on target but shoot fast enough to actually beat 140s, it's so fun to master
I was pairing this with Lucky Pants on MnK. It's kinda helpful but not by much. It certainly need practice on MnK but not impossible. Also, it ain't a dueling weapon cause of very less bullets. Have moved on to Peacebond but feel like using TLW again.
As someone that plays both mnk and controller, (growing up on controller) the aim assist pull feels REALLY strong sometimes, but it would be hard to find a sweetspot between too little/too much aim assist, and if you have too little aim assist controller won’t be able to compete with mnk. So a bit overkill aim assist is the obvious choice
@@christwalken12 I have an xbox one x and an elite controller, if you go to the controller app you can customize the settings on your controller and just click on the joystick you want to change it. hopefully that helps.
Hey Cammy. I've found that the custom sens curves you can make for controller sticks just dont really work for D2, since it already has a built-in curve that gets weird if you alter it further, combined with massive stick dead zones.
It’s nice to know that factually bungie has different code depending on input, is it fair that controllers get a advantage with the hip fire, that’s hard to say, Bc of limited movement, if someone on kbm could master tlw then they could beat out a controller player, but with the bullet magnetism not being there and this game being so fast pace it would be hard
Like can we just take a minute to appreciate the absolute gun-slinging-hip-firing-cowboy badass that this man is? Love the great content man keep it up
Console player. I play 12 sens hipfire, 6 sens ADS. If you have a controller like the Elite controller where you can fine tune your analog sticks, I would suggest 1. Having a longer thumb stick. Control freeks Can do this 2. Increasing your deadzone. By making your deadzone longer, it requires more travel on your stick to make adjustments. If you’re someone like me who has heavy fingers that like to drift your sticks, it’s a massive help in any fps. I would have to look up my setting to n ow exactly what I tuned, but get in there and mess around. Destiny needs to catch up with the times and allow us to mess around with advanced look controls.
Inst the multinoch right now sharing a lot of the same space with last word without being an exotic? Air accuracy by icarus, similar time to kill, better range with the right perks. You can still peek with last word for that last bullet to kill a target, but I feel they share too much of the role right now.
Yooo thanks for the vid! I just got on PC after playing on Xbox, so mnk last word has been feeling wacky. Super useful tips. I'm probably gonna try and learn mnk last word, even if I'm better on controller, I can already tell its gonna be a really fun and rewarding experience. That stickiness on mnk was messing with me, so I think it'll be interesting when I go back to other weapons. Kinda feels like learning a new char in a fighting game. Also, gyro stick. Flickstick type stuff. I keep forgetting, but its always crazy.
0:50 has to be the most TRUE statement I have ever heard....I have tried binary input devices like MnK...Im no good. There are to many buttons in D2 to use it IMO. Controller makes more sense, perfect amount of inputs for the "keys"
One thing destiny has done better then any other game is the balance between m&k and controller. In other games I’m distinctly a better player with one input or another. In Destiny I’m basically the same player, albeit I play differently to achieve those results, but I can do equally well nonetheless. Wish vicarious visions was still working with them.
I actually picked up last word and got pretty good with it. I got very comfortable with 5, being my go to perfect sens. Hip firing is weird though because aiming always feels a little harder on controller without any zoom lol If I could give any tips, become comfortable with using it under pressure and still being able to apply pressure to your sticks gently and evenly. I always over flick when I get nervous so practice that. Getting used to the range (last word will surprise you) is pretty difficult. It has a very unique damage drop off and requires a bit of a gameplay style change. It can touch outside of its range very well but only by 5-10 meters and falls off pretty aggressively after that. Get better at sniping. There’s a reason a lot of people use it with snipers lol
When it comes to people saying "x input is easier", TLW is the only case where it is actually true that controller is better. And this is purely because of the custom tuning. However, because of weird design choices, controller is objectively worse, for several reasons that have no reason to be the way that they are. The main disadvantage of controller is an outright reduced accuracy on weapons. What that means is less effective aim assist. Now, when I say reduced accuracy, this means most obviously your hip fire accuracy. Just observing the shape of the hip fire reticle is more than obvious enough for what I'm talking about. Essentially, your accuracy while hip firing weapons on controller is pretty bad. Your accuracy cone is larger (not a good thing, means space where bullets can go is larger), it grows faster, and it expands to full size. This effect is magnified while in the air, and is still in effect while ADS. And for some unknown reason, that is just how it is. And there is nothing your input can do to counter reticle bloom. Yet, there is a difference in accuracy based on your input. Despite again, neither input being able to directly affect accuracy growth and size, aside from reducing your rate of fire. If anything, I just feel bad for controller players. Disregarding TLW, weapons are less effective with controller. You cannot even effectively hip fire as well as you can with M&K. Recoil is one thing, the sticks allow you to infinitely compensate for recoil, but you can't do that with M&K. But why are accuracy cones so different if neither input can alter it? At the end of the day, people should be allowed to use the input they feel most comfortable with. And don't insult someone for using a different input than you. Especially if you're the one using the easier tricycle input. Yeah that's right, M&K is very easy compared to what most like to make it sound like. Endless amounts of videos making M&K to seem as if it is the pinnacle of aim skill. Let's be real here, Destiny 2 is chock full of aim assist as it is, regardless of input. No one should deny that. So people should stop putting down controllers. Especially when they learn the truth. Because man, I do feel bad for controller users. Endless hours of shooting at walls to see just how bad it is for controllers. Spread patterns that make a man cry.
I recently came to Destiny 2 after playing a lot of Destiny 1, and there the Last Word was extremelly strong because there was no other primary weapons that could deal high damage in close range, but now SMG's exist, so my question is: Is it worth using The Last Word, when something like Shayura's Wrath or MultiMach can do almost the same and are a lot easier to use?
I've mained TLW pretty hard (with some breaks to try out other new guns) since Season of Opulence (so, Shadowkeep, basically,) here's my take: As far as I know, no primary in the game can beat TLW's 0.53 second TTK without a damage/fire rate buff. The closest I know of is adaptive sidearms at 0.6 seconds. TLW has incredibly reliable damage output - if you're in your effective range and hitting about as many shots as the person you're dueling is, you'll probably win, sometimes even at a pretty severe health disadvantage. If you learn to hit your shots ( 2 headshots + 2 bodyshots is often enough against most players - they'll miss shots too) and manage your range (15-20 meters is your sweet spot - far enough to kill most slug shotguns before they reach you, close enough to deal max damage,) TLW can kill much faster than just about any other close range primary, without the need to activate buffs or chain kills. Alongside that, the fact that you're not ADS while using it means your strafe is faster and your radar is up at all times which both help out a lot moment to moment (and throw me off every time I use a different hand cannon). All that combined means in a duel between two equally skilled players, one only using TLW and the other only using an SMG, I would bet on the TLW winning most of the time. Its most massive weakness is that it's an exotic - That means no icarus grip, and pretty much no in air accuracy, so... boots on the ground at all possible times. tl,dr: If you learn to use it, TLW is very, very good in the right situation, and if you can find or create that situation, it will kick ass. If you can't/don't want to do that, other guns will probably perform better for you.
@@sebastianturner2458 Thank you very much for your very complete answer. I used to be a Last Word main in Destiny 1, using the holy combo: Last Word+sniper, but its been frustrating to do that again now. I'll keep trying.

I played FPS games on console exclusively before February when I built my first PC. Since then, I've noticed that while I thought I would aim on mK I NEVER was as consistent as I was with a controller. So I bought a the new Xbox series controller and my KD went up .93 the next season. The only issue is I get absolutely clapped by people with a decent mouse aim. But I can hold my own in a duel with players who are "skilled".

Im definitely gonna try lowing my sensitivity for the last word next time i wanna go off
no ur just a fuckin last word god
Hey man just wanna say I play at 16 sensitivity and I can aim just fine with tlw!! Maybe cause I just love that weapon and Ace of Spades just soooo satisfying
I play high, works fine for me. Though with any Hip fire there's RNG.
Oh shit, I play at 16 sensitivity
i don't even play d2 anymore and i can't stop watching your vids
my dude I'm genuinely drawn to your passion for this game
I struggle with movement on consoles, specifically with being able to quickly slide mid engagement. I think a video on controller movement tips would be pretty rad!
I have a ton of respect for the effort you put into your own proficiency and teachable moments for the community, thanks for making content!
I think fundamentally if you're running the standard control scheme it will be very hard to get good at movement. The jump button takes your thumb off the stick and makes you have to reorient yourself before you get fighting.
You probably are going to have to remap your jump to a trigger/bumper/ or something else to keep your aim firm while also allowing you to manipulate your movement stick.
puppeteer controller settings let you crouch with right stick click
Holy... looking at old footage is jarring.
I don't know how it was so easy for my mind to get to a point where seeing white ammo bricks seems inherently wrong. It hasn't even been that long since the change and it already seems so alien to me.
the way you said “so listen up” sent shivers down my spine
Thank you 🙏🏼
Absolutely love this breakdown. If you have other weapons you think you'd like to give this kind of review to, I'll watch the hell out of them.
I've been running it with bow for a while now. I love it.
I have a wolftone with frenzy and archer's tempo with a draw time of 576. It's amazing.
That's the down side of the Travelers Chosen catalyst it gives full auto but I felt like my ability to hit shots at range went out the window
Just started using the last word and had no idea it was full auto; thanks for this.
@@Whitebishop89 same.
Tap fire or full auto?
@@grage3039 Tap always. It has been a tap fire gun for the whole of D2, not sure about D1.
@@grage3039 you can Full Auto on Controller, I heavily recommend against Full Auto on M&K, it makes the Ghost Bullet problem even worse
@@grage3039 tap to auto
For PC players, some monitors have a feature that allows you to put a permanent dot/crosshair at the center of your screen. This will give you a better sense of where the hell your bullets are centered for better aiming (plz bungie add custom crosshairs).
No
Main reason to master this gun - it has THE coolest skin ever, metallic Tex Mechanika rounded brick. Nothing beats it.
I've started using Last Word on MnK and it's been feeling great tbh. Thanks for the tips because this brought me back to trying it and sticking with it.
Thanks Cammy, I am basically a PvP potato but have enjoyed gaming session where I go all in on the Last Word. It is just a fun weapon to use.
It needed a nerf, but I'm still pissed they went with this specific nerf.
I mean, 8 bullets is juuuuuust enough to kill two maybe three people with the clip
@@DefinitelyFroggyDioBrando Yeah I know it's already low. I feel like I would rather it be consistent or reliable with an extremely low magazine than it's current form though.
@@jacobruiter592 I guess 6 shots would fit the cowboy gun feel more but it really would make the gun 10x worse
just a tip for those who use TLW on m&k and dont want to pace your shots, if you're right at falloff damage or over it you're going to want to aim your crosshair over the head of your enemy. because of recoil and crosshair displacement the shots end up hitting either the bottom most part of the crosshair or just below it. if your crosshair is dead center on the head and you go full auto youll hit maybe 1 or 2 headshots, after that itll count as body shots. Those 1-2 missed headshots are the decider to either winning or losing your duels. especially since you only have 8 bullets in the chamber.
like i said this is only if youre right at the damage falloff point/over it and go completely full auto. otherwise, pacing your shots negates the crosshair issue
I loved that one flawless hunter trying to do the same play on you and dying every time 😂
"everyone likes to be a space cowboy" Benny: . . .
Yes always move your sticks together when I'm using assault rifles I move left stick left and right fast to basically get rid of that wobble feel for your eyes and it let's you focus on hitting head throw in a crouch half way through a fight to counter an enemy aiming to your head and then move either left or right to make them miss more shots while trying to re-adjust some people spam crouch while in hand cannon duels you miss they hit 2 ur dead

in the first 40 seconds i personally get attacked. time to be better, you right cammy you right
Something I would love to see Cammy try out is last word with a grenade launcher.

Last word has been my favorite gun since before d1 came out, I idolized it in the destiny handbook that was released before the game itself was lol this gun is strong and I will always love it
Last Word is the best SMG 😂
One thing I personally love about the Last Word is the Lore, so badass.
in regards to DMT, after the nerf it got, it shoots blanks so much it hurts, even with double scout targeting
It depends. they mainly nerfed its hipfire range, meaning that at a certain distance, you'll experience significantly less aim assist and damage. so.. you just need a feeling for when to hipfire or ads. Also, i personally found that a lot of strafing speed helped me a surprising amount. wether it be for me being harder to hit, or me being a person actually aiming a lot with movement despite being on mnk already... its a shitton of fun.
I like the way he uses the glacier grenades as a barricade instead of doing the brain dead dive majority of hunters do.
😩Last Word in slow motion is Beautiful
Backpedaling is fine, staying in the back of the map the whole game is not
@@imafatboy27 the only weapon in that list you can do that with is DMT

The elite controller is badass.
What settings are you sticks on ?

This video inspired me to full mw a lucky pants loadout just to fuck around with tlw. Thanks for the great video as always :)
That fake out super in the first minutes of the video.... * chef's kiss * so tasty
Thx, at last I get a comparison for TLW between MNK and controller.
Just got last word. Definitely an adjustment from other HCs. I like it though
I love the Last Word in PvE, makes me feel all yeehaw. Just needs multikill orbs.
imagine a firefly catalyst.
although, to be fair.. if it even gets a catalyst, i hope for it to actually be a lot better than just firefly.

Hey Cammy. I've found that the custom sens curves you can make for controller sticks just dont really work for D2, since it already has a built-in curve that gets weird if you alter it further, combined with massive stick dead zones.
Yea I’ve fiddled with this a lot on my elite and I always end up back on the default settings.
Fair!? 1 gun out of a thousand. Also, you know DMT exists right?
We know, context is needed, but referring to the video for TLW, he has a fair opinion

Console player. I play 12 sens hipfire, 6 sens ADS. If you have a controller like the Elite controller where you can fine tune your analog sticks, I would suggest
1. Having a longer thumb stick. Control freeks Can do this
I wish lucky pants perk would activate after throwing a hunter knife! It takes too long to recover from throwing a knife.
Ok time to REALLY see a bunch of people using Last Word now due to this video
Inst the multinoch right now sharing a lot of the same space with last word without being an exotic? Air accuracy by icarus, similar time to kill, better range with the right perks. You can still peek with last word for that last bullet to kill a target, but I feel they share too much of the role right now.
Great video! I’ll do my best to try and incorporate this information.
Damn Cammy, you're on fire with the videos, loving it!
Or just use DMT which is even better than last word
0:50 has to be the most TRUE statement I have ever heard....I have tried binary input devices like MnK...Im no good. There are to many buttons in D2 to use it IMO. Controller makes more sense, perfect amount of inputs for the "keys"
I suppose its time to get back into the boots and go hunting with the big iron on the hip.
See you space cowboy!
Thank You Cammy. I needed this.
Thanks for the tips. Can you do a video like this but for sidearms ?
One thing destiny has done better then any other game is the balance between m&k and controller. In other games I’m distinctly a better player with one input or another. In Destiny I’m basically the same player, albeit I play differently to achieve those results, but I can do equally well nonetheless. Wish vicarious visions was still working with them.
I actually picked up last word and got pretty good with it. I got very comfortable with 5, being my go to perfect sens. Hip firing is weird though because aiming always feels a little harder on controller without any zoom lol
If I could give any tips, become comfortable with using it under pressure and still being able to apply pressure to your sticks gently and evenly.
Great video and great tips. Love the comments about input device, way to many people pick on that. Just play the game.
i haven't yee haw'd since black armory so i suppose it's time for me to ride with this gun once again lol
Shit cammy has gone live bois
Nice novel
@@rebcommando587 lmao you didn't have to do him like that, this is a really comprehensive wall of info
I’m my personal opinion I say yes, as while those weapons are strong when you first pick them the last word has a much higher skill ceiling
I've mained TLW pretty hard (with some breaks to try out other new guns) since Season of Opulence (so, Shadowkeep, basically,) here's my take:
As far as I know, no primary in the game can beat TLW's 0.53 second TTK without a damage/fire rate buff.

Thank you very much for your very complete answer. I used to be a Last Word main in Destiny 1, using the holy combo: Last Word+sniper, but its been frustrating to do that again now. I'll keep trying.
I use 16 sensitivity on controller so to compensate the extreme difficulty to line the hip fire up, I actually ads at a X.5 multiplier, line up to the target and then un zoom to hipfire.
Or just lower your sens. You will most definitely lose every gunfight if you line up the shot with ads the hipfire. What is your kd?

Very nice and informative video. Have you considered making a videoseries "tips for a specific weapon"? Also I would really love you use Sunshot one day.
I feel exposed for how bad I am with TLW 🥶
I played FPS games on console exclusively before February when I built my first PC. Since then, I've noticed that while I thought I would aim on mK I NEVER was as consistent as I was with a controller. So I bought a the new Xbox series controller and my KD went up .93 the next season. The only issue is I get absolutely clapped by people with a decent mouse aim. But I can hold my own in a duel with players who are "skilled".
Mmmm cammycakes video about the last word.... Ok im not sure what would be good against the inevitable amount of lw ill see in the next weeks, maybe pulses for the range or fusions idk.
I had a problem with the last word on pc and then I tried it on controller and I haven’t played controller in 2 years and I found it so much easier to land my shots than MnK..so I continued my MnK experience trying to get this done without messing my sens and I found that if you use the right top of the actual crosshairs it will land the shots..also accuracy mods will have negative impact
Had to put a like on this one. Thanks Cammy
