It might be unintentional but it makes me think of the origin of pinky swearing, (if you lie you have to cut off your pinky.) which would make sense given the whole section with Amane getting horrifically punished.

It seems she's in some kind of extremist religious environment. The animals are the other kids. The one that got hurt was supposed to be healed through prayer, but she tried to use medicine and was punished. So she "fixed" her mistake.
Edit: In Undercover in the final chorus, their victims are shown in the form of Es being unalived in different positions. Amane is holding a blunt instrument and is straddling the victim with the weapon over her head.

I watched it, and i was wondering if she was gonna kill her "mentors", but i also kinda thought she was too brainwashed by them so she could've been forced to kill that cat. At least those cultists got what they deserved, and at least she was able to snap out of her brainwashing, even though it left her having a few screws loose
