The Logitech C922 webcam has huge shoes to fill, being an updated version of the incredibly popular C920. This webcam's specs include 1080p 30fps and 720p 60fps, as well as automatic background removal. I found the video quality to be excellent, though at 60fps, the C922 seems to use a strong noise reduction filter that makes the video look strange. The background removal is nice to have, but I didn't find it to work very well, and it kept cutting off my limbs. Overall though, Logitech's C922 is certainly a worthy successor and I'm sure will be the new best webcam for years to come.

I think he is using the Logitech camera. Because the whole video is based on the camera. Also, the highest quality is 1080p60

According to the review, they're the same exact camera - the only difference are the "extras." With the C922 you get the camera, a tripod, and a 3 month premium xsplit license. With the C922x you only get a 6 month premium xsplit license.

I thought about it for a while but ended up going for the c920. The background removal is just a software gimmick and can be purchased separately for basically any webcam. Nice video Joe.

Be carful buying this if you plan to use it for OBS. At 720/60fps YOU CANNOT ZOOM OR PAN and it has a fairly wide angle so my 6x6 green screen is usuless as the cam can see on both sides of it. I can use 960x720 but then it cam is stuck at 30 fps then all of sudden the cam can zoom and pan etc. Ive researched, uninstalled and reinstalled everything and i simply cannot get it to work right. logitech has offered little to no support to those of us who bought it. I think i will be returning it.

Kaden - It was a glitch in rendering. There was video there on the timeline and should be here, but for some reason Adobe Media Encoder screwed it up. It's done it before and I thought it was fixed, but I didn't catch it this time.
ThioJoe, I actually thought my monitor was not working.... don't give me these scares again because I had bought my monitor yesterday itself! xD

How do we spot fake logitech c922?
Wait. So we have to pay for a monthly service to use this camera for it to work on our computer? I plugged mine in and it flat out doesn't work... is there a Secret? I bought it brand new in a sealed box. No instructions. Just a bunch of warnings, cautions and image to plug in.
Have you tried installing some drivers?
This camera is incredible. I am 100% satisfied. I previously had the c615 which not only was horrible in low light, but also could not focus at all-it would literally never focus, even manually. Anyway, I was hesitant to buy another Logitech due to my bad experience. Boy was I wrong. This c922 is so crystal clear. I think it’s even clearer than the C920, based on a few videos I’ve seen. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Is this one compatible with a chromebook?? Also, does this one 'zoom in' on things good? I am a cannabis UA-camr.....so im mostly static, shooting from a seat in my room.....but I NEED one that will let me 'zoom in' on the product...and it show a great picture of it.???

A very minor update to C920, imho. After 4 years, it would have been nice to get 1080p 60fps, built-in HDR support, 4K res... or at least something that is starting to appear as standard in $150 Chinese mobile phones.
Personally I think it is a total rip off for the price. For $40 ok, but for full price, no.

It could be a processing/bandwidth issue causing the softness at 60fps, usb2.0 will be very hard pressed to get any more than 40MB/s through, it could even be the encoder processor in the webcam not supporting a high enough framerate to keep the image sharp.
Wow when I conducted my testing at my channel the audio on my C922 was pure garbage. It was so bad it was embarrassing. The audio on yours is much much better. Hmmm... maybe the mic on mine is faulty. The video is fantastic.

It's upscaling like 360p to 720p which is why it's so incredibly blurry for 720p it's falsely marketed as 720p

It's great to see more decent webcams, but I am going to have to stick with my c920 until it breaks. Not enough of an upgrade to warrant me buying this one yet.
I received from @t this Logitech 1080p stream sku 960-001211. I believe it is NOT C922 model as advertised. info on site is incorrect and contradictory. The 1080p will only record 1080p 30fps & 720p at 30 fps. C922 records 1080p 30 fps and 720p at 60 fps. BAIT & SWITCH!? What do you think?

I hate logitech.. I am so sick of yourtubers supporting this webcam. Half the time when you buy a logitech webcam it doesn't work. It's either the drivers don't support the product or the hardware is literally broken. Just get a digital camera people!

I bought the c922 and found it to be OK. JUST OK.
If you look closely at all these online reviews you will see the c922 has a whitebalance issue. The AUTO settings make everyone look a little too green. Adjusting this is fairly easy, but the problem is it needs custom adjustment EVERY TIME you use it.
And the settings are dumbed down for consumers and not very intuitive. I guess it is just a $100 webcam, but I expected more.
THIS IS WHAT REALLY SUCKS. The software has bugs. There are toggles to turn settings on/off. But depending on which setting you are using, the toggle ON is actually the OFF. For example, when I turn "ON" the white balance it turns on the auto white balance. But if I turn "ON" the "image settings" I can customize the settings.
So it "ON" for auto? Or is "ON" for customizing? Apparently it is both. This is a fail.
Glad I only spent $100 for this. I will be replacing it soon.
I use it on Kubuntu with Skype. The video quality looks good to me.

hi, I have a question, I wd be glad if you answer. I need cam / webcam but not for primarly to capture myself in front of my computer. Im an IT professional and at work, during IT projects a lot of people colleagues reflecting their computer screens to show software and make presentations. We have projectors in meeting rooms which we connect to computers and reflect to a white screen. So I need to cam these presentations from the white screen. I wont be very far away from the screen but, what kind of cam/web cam I need for this ? For good quality capturing ? And is this cam can to that ? thnk u
That doesn't look like noise filtering, it looks like the 720 p 60fps mode is actually shooting at 360p and upscaling it so one pixel becomes four, with blurring applied to make it look less obvious. Sounds like the 60 fps 720p is a scam.
What camera were you using while giving the review?
Thanks I wandered why mine did not come with a tripod or in the bigger box but those things and the shorter subscription I don't want. There was only 1 option for in stock at retail price anyways. Plus I need more so I'm fine with getting the x version again unless I can find the tripod version for retail price. This way I have a back up webcam trip pod just in case.

Probably doesn't warrant an upgrade for the regular consumer. Background removal pushes it towards a broadcasting webcam imo. Great specs regardless though.

Logitech would be much less misleading if, instead of claiming to have cameras with any such thing as a background replacement feature, they said that some other company out there rents compatible background replacement software for $60 a year, and that the software's functionality is a work in progress.
I put the resolution at 1920x1080 but it records in 720p, how do I put in for 1080p

So having the C922 already and was really hoping to experience the chroma key for streaming "without having to use a Green Screen" Should be looking into Stargazer instead? I haven't been happy with it, especially with the lack of support for OBS

I'm thinking of buying this webcam. Is there anyway to get rid of that underwater sound in the microphone when you're speaking in the logitech settings? I'd rather not have 2 buy a separate microphone, and that does sound pretty annoying. Also, do you know if the logitech c930 also produces this underwater noise in the microphone?

Thanks for the review, Thio. I have the C902 that I got years ago, and I was thinking that it's time for an upgrade. Since I only use it for video conference calls, I doubt I will need a camera that supports 4K. Also, I wouldn't use the microphone from it either.

What software are you using, please, to record with the c922? I was really annoyed to find that the old Logitech Webcam Software doesn't work properly with the c922, and Logitech hasn't bothered to provide recording software for it. Their support site casually tells you that you must use 3rd party software to record with this webcam, such as Microsoft Camera, which I do not find acceptable.

The difference that is not mentioned is the drivers. The c920 uses legacy drivers, the c922 uses new windows drivers.

He is not going to, he prefers the tech videos more. In my opinion these are way better since he actually enjoys it more and is very intelligent about the subject. If you do not enjoy the content it might be better if you looked somewhere else; he has said he prefers these to the satire videos and those would end up getting worse since he doesn't care about them as much. at least he enjoys making these and it shows in the quality and content.
