Thanks for uploading. Love Blockbusters. Oops it's Uluru now. Can't call it Ayers Rock any longer and certainly it's high time too! Ahh who else remembers receiving a Giro in the post?
@Peter MacKay here's judgemental. You could start a fight in an empty bar! 😂 Probably with this playing on the Jukebox... "Solid rock, standing on sacred ground, Livin' on, borrowed time, and the winds of change, are blowing down the line" Uluru ✌️ I'll have a "U" please Bob
I have this vivid memory of a contestant who was very funny, making dry humorous comments. He danced at the start of the gold run and hugged Bob Holness when he won. Can anyone confirm who this may have been? Are there any clips?
A bit tenuous, but he said near the end he wrote poetry, and his wife wrote some too while in prison. It looks like him, although I think the internet has his birthdate wrong, putting him at 15 when this was recorded.
@@IThinkYouLookLarvely I’m finding it difficult to find his date of birth but I think he was born in 1976 so he was either 15 or 16 when this was filmed. I’m not sure how old the contestants needed to be, when I watched Blockbusters as a child they all seemed old but watching again they look like kids!
Unusual Goldrun at the end. I've never seen a board which deliberately spelled out words with the initials across the entire 20 hexagons. Somebody must have been getting a little bored in the job, and found a way to amuse themselves.
Bob had a brilliant way of taking the piss out of the contestants whilst sounding polite.
Bob Was like a headmaster of the nation
He was like a Headmaster
Of a comp in 80s Britain
There was always something very comforting about Blockbusters. I miss it.
It was Bob Holness. He *was* Blockbusters 😊
whoever feels really excited when you know the answer as well

Love the show
Them blue boys are really good , and I wonder if Blockbusters asked Harlequins rugby club to design their shirts for the runners up prizes.
That cd player had rechargable batteries! Progress, huh...
Loved it as a kid I do see the repeats of it on Challenge tv.
Wonderful about the post card
Bob's Blockbusters is back on Challenge Mon-Fri 4-5! 😁
I had one for PWF:
"A very popular song by Blackpink, released in their debut year."

Whoever feels really excited when know the answer as well on blockbusters on Challenge tv 📺
The single version of the Blockbusters theme heard in the background at 12:44
"I'll have a P please Bob"
Never gets old.
Rim-cheese Bob...
I think Richard Ratcliffe is husband to Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe who is currently imprisoned in Iran.
That does look alarmingly like him.
Came here to say the same thing…

Diane is absolutely gorgeous!!
the roman goddess of the moon is quite the looker
???
@@johnmc3862 I’m guessing as my comment was made 3 years ago that Diane is one of the contestants.
Boil the rice, pay the price.
Great days for ladies fashion Here🧻😎
sending a ginger to one of the hottest places on the planet...... paaahaaahaaahaaaaaa ......
"I'm an intellectual Bob". lol, complete fail.
Great show
watching in 2022!
Uploader Chris, do you have any shows from 1990?
I always said it should been two teams of two the single player usually lost 😞
The board wouldn’t work if they did that.
I thought there were five gold runs not three
I think it started out with five, but got to 3 by this time
Wish they would revamp this. Oh wait they did..Simon Mayo sucked 😂
Is it just us or is Richard standing up busting blocks?

You really have no idea. Shame.
