Helpful video. Thanks. Surprised you guys didn't sort listings in either Opportunity Finder or Product Database. You just went for the top products on the list in each. No idea how those are sorted. I always sort by units sold first. Also, how do number of "ratings" and number of "reviews" differ in finding competition. Can they be interchanged? Ratings are way easier to leave, so I guess "reviews" is a better indicator. Competition can be confusing in JS. Some screens show few sellers, but then Opportunity Score is low (4). I'm trying to pick my first product now. Cheers
They are the same. We have made certain changes to the Extension and it includes changing the Reviews column to 'Rating' and the # of Reviews column to "Rating Number".

Very informative video. Thank you. I have not heard of FBA but it sounds like, in summary, you find high margin items selling on Amazon and then find similar product(s) on Alibaba, ship to Amazon and then resell under your own brand. I can understand the business model but what would keep many others from doing the same thing and saturating the market with the same high margin items? Thanks in advance.
Because there are different kinds of products and as a brand owner, customizing and making improvements on an already in-demand product can still be a success.

sales and Reviews were being taken out in the excel file (time -18:35), which formula did you use?
The formula for this was =average(B4:B13 or C4:C14 - in our case
Hi, I really like your videos. they are very informative. I have a question. What happened to the product that I could not sell that is shipped at amazon warehouse?
If your account has a lot of old, unsold inventory, you'll end up paying extra storage fees to Amazon including long term storage fees.
There are options of the things that you cando for unsold items:
You can reprice your products
You can request Removal to:
Destroy
Return and Donate
Return to the Store
Hi, I have the prof SX. I am very excited about this product I just purchased and it seems very user friendly. Regarding the Product Tracker, I am following your teaching and some products I put into the group don't have data for certain fields (e.g. avg monthly sales shows a dash for at least 5 products in my top 10 example, and these products also have 0 for an average price). Do I have to notify JS or would JS become aware of the need for these products to be searched for data by me putting it on my Product Tracker. If none of these possibilities I just mention are not the case, can you please help me understand. Your answer is greatly appreciated.

@@junglescout I have. The rep told me that once in the product tracker, it can take 48 hours to a week. If I still don't see an update of numbers on these items on any of my groups (via product tracker) to contact support so they can help me further. Makes sense. Some items have never been queried or get too little traffic so there needs to be time to get all the info on them. This is what I was told. Thanks. If you want to look into it further, you can get my query that I emailed already from the rep (don't want to mention his name here: don't know if that's appropriate).

For a beginner, which JS tool you would recommend the most? Product Database or Opportunity Finder? What are the criteria's you would recommend for searching for a product to sell on Amazon UK market? Thanks.
We suggest using both, you can use the US marketplace> Load filter set, it will provide previously created filters by our team. You can copy them and save them for other Marketplaces.
is a 6 opportunity score a good place for a first time seller to start? What is a good amount of inventory to start with on a ~$20 product? opportunity calculator showing high demand low competition. Decent monthly sales (top 2 sellers dominating but the rest are getting by) ratings just 371 average
Hey we can't advise on product selection however a good order quantity is usually 3 months supply!

When using the top 10 Results do you want to hide the products that show up with AD listed under their name since they are not selling organically? Or do we want to track this as well when validating?
Yeah I'd go ahead and hide those from your search results. In the extension settings, you can actually disable the option "Show Sponsored Products" which automatically removes them from the table :)

They are included in all current plans.

You can get away with the. Basic plan, though it has Daily limits - We'd recommend the Suite plan so you can use the tool as much as you'd like :)
48 minutes, 20 sec... into video - how do you access "FBA Profit Calculator"?? I have a subscription and the extension. Thought I could access it through the menu on the extension but no luck. Please advise.
While logged on the Extension(product page or search results). Simply click on the amount under the NET column, it will bring up the Profit Calculator.

Hi, I have an LLC set up but I'd like to brand in several different categories. Can I use a different brand name on them? For example, I am interested in toys and would like to use a "toy like" name which my LLC is not. Thank you!
Yes, you can have different multiple brands under 1 LLC

When using the JS extension if your search displays products that are not the product you are searching for is this an issue if you hide these items when comparing the Top 10 Organic Products as you have altered the organic search results? Example. if you search for toilet paper it populates Printer paper or Paper towels. I've hidden multiple incorrect products to where it only displays the product I'm looking for and this changes all the sales, Revenue, Prices, Ratings Opportunty so I am just concerned i'm messing up the data for validating this. Thanks!
Yes! Removing products changes the averages and affects the Opportunity Score. By removing the products, the averages and Opportunity Score only represent the products within the list.

If you are only analyzing the top 10 products, then it's fine, but please note that the Opportunity Score is calculated based on all products displayed in the Extension, so the score is not reflecting for the entire niche if you hide other products

I have an important qs plz..what if the product is best to sell with all aspects and we keep low price but shipment is 1 month late..should we put a product?
Hi there! You can't replace a product with a different one as ASINs are unique to the product they are registered to. It's best to wait till you have all components and launch the product as expected!

I want to wholesale but the product is already listed. The listing is very poor or it is a two pack and I'm only selling one. Can I re-list the product with a better listing I made? Or with adjusted quantity?
You can absolutely do that. 😉

You can list your separately as it's a different quantity. Ultimately it's up to you, it depends on how old the reviews are and what the newer ones are saying.
Is there any website/place you would recommend to find suppliers other than China?
It depends on the product that you would like to import. Our Supplier Database can help finding the Top US importers 😊

My question was never looked at. I used to use jungle scout but i stopped using it since i noticed a flaw in the extension, it was calculating into their opportunity scores the sections called (top brands and highly rated products on page 1) which to my knowledge are not organic products, these products are placed there by amazon. So did jungle scout fix that on the extension to only count organic results and not outliers or these products placed there by amazon. Thanks
Hi there! We have updated our data points and now consider over 500 million points between all our estimates and the information we provide. You will notice a significant difference in the Extension now :)

Yes, your supplier may be able to provide this service. You can also ask for a sample or maybe find a photographer from Upwork or fiverr who lives near your supplier's location so they can get a sample and take photos.

Does it require a business license to sell these products?
Having a business license is not always a required to sell on Amazon, as it depends on your selling plan and business model, but we highly recommend it and is required for a Brand registry because it requires a trademark which may require a business license.

Is it supposed to be less than 500 reviews or less than 50? On Udemy we're instructed to go for less than 50 reviews for 2023's product research part of the course.
I believe that it's max number of reviews is 50. 😉

In this case, it would be the product that actually hit most of the product research criteria we set. :) 😀
Seems like you need to fix how Jungle Scout presents the data in various reports. A product is shown as 'Very Low' competition on 'Opportunity Tracker' is shown as 'High Demand & High Competition' on the 'JS Extension' based report. This is so confusing, especially for new sellers. It needs to be consistent throughout all the places.
So sorry for the confusion here!
The Extension gives you an opportunity score based on ALL the products included in the search results, while the Opportunity Finder only takes into account the TOP products that make up that niche.
So, when you find a product with a good Niche Score in Opportunity Finder, it's best to always validate your findings. You can do so by looking for related keywords using Keyword Scout and then checking the Opportunity Score for them on Amazon using Extension.

in my opinion. Dont sign up for Jungle Scout. As soon as you give them your SELLER ACOUNT INFO . They have access to all your products. They give this info to other sellers or sell your info. Your products will be stolen and your business sales will go down.
