How does tilt/nudge work? SOudns stupid but I have just got Pinball FX2, and it seems to warn me DANGER every time I do it. Is there a hard nudge/soft nudge? There are no instructions for this!? Other pinball games I have the nudge is useless, and never saves the ball, I really dont get it, are you allowed so many nudges per ball? Some games it seems to be 2-3 times then TILT?
It's funny to me that people feel the need to point out that Pinball Arcade is "nothing like real pinball" when commenting on a Medieval Madness video where a guy plays for over 3 hours and gets more than 4 billion points.
MC McLispy It is funny because the phyiscs in these games is nothing like playing on the real deal. The majority of the time MM is setup at 7 degrees to play fast with the outlanes completely open and the tilt highly sensitive. These digital games let you nudge like a pinball god every single time and the flippers have amazing strength no matter the angle not to mention other numerous software bugs. It's quite humorus when people try to emulate the real deal on consoles and PCs then post high scores. It's kind of like trying to turn a pinball machine into a digital video game...if you've ever seen one those IT's a complete disgrace.
MC McLispy do you guys know of any games that actually emulate real pinball well? It seems to me that they've all got shortcomings but I'd love to hear suggestions for games that do it well (I've heard Pinball Arcade is one of the better ones).
From what I've heard some think Zen Pinball has superior physics. However, I prefer Pinball Arcade myself since the tables are based on actual pinball tables. Definitely nothing like the real thing when it comes to the physics but very useful when it comes to learning the rules and improving your reflexes.
You can nudge different amounts on the PS3 by moving the left analogue stick. A faster movement is more likely to get a danger warning. The "nudge" noise the game makes is the same whether you nudge hard or soft. PS top score is now 13B!
I favor the left flipper catch to hit the castle gate when I play. I think I'm going to try your technique. The appeal of such easy repeat Castle Multiballs is awesome. Great consistency. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this. :D
@ Sir Moovenstein Thanks! I was wondering about the weird nudging on the PC version and thought the console versions might use analog sticks for controlling nudging power (and whatever shaking detectiong the iPad version probably uses). Seems they put absolutely no thought into the PC conversion, feels like it's always the same nudge. Sad. It couldn't have taken that long to enable different strength nugdes based on the length of the button press. Also, does anyone else think the nudge sound in TPA is just weird? First of all, I think there should be hardly any sound from nudging in the first place. Secondly, the sound effect there is sound like shaking an old old wooden closet or something...
amazing score, well done. and i love your name!! ive watched this game a couple of times and im convinced the tilt settings have been changed. my top score is around 998,000,000 on ipad, and i know if i nudged like this the game would tilt. Medieval Madness is quite simply the best game, not just pinball, but any game you'd care to mention, in history, IMHO!!! anyway, well done, but im not convinced about the tilt bro settings bro
As a former pro, I can say you did a great job. Then again, you didn't have to stand in front of it for 3+ hours! lol The tilt is fairly realistic for a non-tourney setup. I will say though that the castle lock shot and to a lesser extent the saucer in the real MM is a lot tighter than in this sim. You got away with murder on some of those shots. lol
TILT must be off. when i play the xmen pinball pack. i play the hulk pinpall you can't nudge the table like that. 4x at most. i don't what company put this out but its very lenient with the tilt
I just finished playing this on the PS3. I have noticed that when you nudge the left joystick there is supposed to be the word DANGER flash in the top left corner and I never saw DANGER pop up in your video. So you must have it set on no tilt or almost impossible to tilt.
Any tips to nudging? Does the direction you nudge have an effect? I've noticed that when I hit right some times it send the ball left or is it the oposite of wht you do?
You can buy all of the current tables in a package for $30, or you can buy this game for $5 and it comes with another table called Pinbot (I could be wrong on the second table's name)
And if you played the Medieval Madness near me you would have tilted hell you would have Tilted most machines. It's subtle movements but if you move it like the game here moves as much as you have, A real machine would tilt. I only suggest playing TPA if you can't get to a real arcade or place that has machines anymore. Cause its not even close
pinball arcade run the original software from machines, the only thing is not real is the physics, but the tilt is realistic if you put the tournament mode on. i agree with you in other comment, the phsycs is completly differente from real life, but the tilt in tournament mode is realistic. is the best pinball game we have, but of course if you can have the machine in real life, is best to play in real life, i played some in real life but i no have access to some good machines :/ you already go to the game, opened the coin door, change setting in the bios, and see how tilt is set, and set in real life to see if is realistic?. i never played a machine in "Free play' to say if is not realisitc sorry
What's with the rampant nudging? If I try that on the 360 version, I get a warning. Then a second warning. Then TILT. Yes, the table is lenient but NOT THIS LENIENT.
I do agree with you that real pinball is the way to go but with few pinball machines these days, how else is one suppose to get their pinball fix? Sure one could buy an original machine but it is pretty costly. This is as good as we're going to get as of now. Though I would like to see someone play on an authentic machine if possible.
KurisuBlaze He plays with the default setting, witch is tilt on full, but the trick is to slightly nudge the analog stick witch gives you alot more nudges before the tilt goes off, however the sound between a full nudge and a slight nudge is the same, maybe thats why people think the tilt is off, but it is not.
***** Yeah, I only played the PC version, on a keyboard, which has only one nudge strength (where you can probably pull out one nudge every few seconds without getting warned)
How do you nudge properly in Pinball Arcade? I tried nudging on Centaur, and every time I do, the ball goes straight for the gutter. By the way, you are now #5 in leaderboards for Medieval Madness. Someone by the name of Banane scored 11 Billion. You are number 58 in leaderboards with a score of around 50 mil in Centaur. Good job! In Centaur, I can't even make it past 200 thousand.
I can safely say have playing games on TPA and real life tables. TPA is nothing like the real games. The ball movement isn't the same I promise you can't go from TPA and do the same on a real table. It's sad but oh well. On that note I have quite a few places that have some awesome machines near me so I don't need TPA thankfully
Tilt city records. there is no way a normal machine would allow you to nudge so much. thus this might be an impressive score. but i guarantee i cant beat you in this skin
WOW - that must have been really boring - you must have been on "energy" drinks or something better! I'd just walk away from a ball after 15 minutes or so, you must NOT have the DIP switch set to DIFFICULT ???? Go re-set the ROM to harder choices.. this isn't fun.. (baseball with all fastballs)
Man I played this game on Visual Pinball and was very proud of my ~200 million score and now I see this.
Dude you're good at this.

"It's kind of like trying to turn a pinball machine into a digital video game" Yeah that's exactly what it is.

4:11 Did he said the F word?
That got bleeped out, however in profanity ROMs the word can be fully heard.

Check out my Pinball video:
89,000 Points on Pinball
YOU OFF TILT! option !!
The tilt sensor is quite lenient on most of the tables. You just have to make sure you don't nudge the table too much at one time.
This video took all the fun I had with Medieval Madness. All that nudging all the time all the time.
Why did you say “all the time” twice?
I had an error in my programming.
@@Pixiez what programming?

I've drained the ball on the last shot of battle for the kingdom four times, too heart breaking to try anymore...

You need to do more videos, bro.
the company that puts out the tables i play are made by zen pinpall you starwars to xmen and some of their tables made by the comapny

No, tilt is on. You'll see a tilt warning at 00:18:46

You can nudge quite a bit on PS3 with the left analogue stick. By not moving the stick too far and too quick you can avoid getting "danger" or "tilt".
Any tips to nudging? Does the direction you nudge have an effect? I've noticed that when I hit right some times it send the ball left or is it the oposite of wht you do?
Do you have the Tilt bob turned off??
You can't change the difficulty on TPA's Medieval Madness if going for a leaderboard high score.
Does this game come in a bundle of other pinball games? How much? Many thanks.
You can buy all of the current tables in a package for $30, or you can buy this game for $5 and it comes with another table called Pinbot (I could be wrong on the second table's name)

Yes, the table is lenient but NOT THIS LENIENT.
Nicely done. I think I got to 2 billion on the 360 version and it just about killed me.
why do you keep tilting it?
nice job dude - I love pinball arcade
You have infinite tilt warnings in this game? You sure tilted a lot there.
Trust me, it is!

OK, I shall take it at face value, and trust you.
I can't do this on my 360 though, nothing close to it.
Eh yes, thanks to the fucking. The table does not go on tilt, despite all the shock that he gives..
Easy with tilt off..
I wouldn't say it's off completely...probably set to the lowest possible setting that still has that risk. (I still see a few warnings in his videos.)
