    Another great, detailed & informative video. Thank you for taking the time to always put out great content. On a side note, I have always called them king & jack studs with the continuing cut of the jack stud above the header being called one of the cripples. Honestly, I could be completely wrong on the terms, I’m just a DIYer 🤷‍♂️. Have a great rest of your day.

      Thanks for the great comment. In Canadian trade school we were taught stud / trimmer. Tomato / tomato if you know what I’m saying.

      @@uptokode Thank YOU for the great content. Stud/trimmer, or King/jack, the one thing I know for sure is I always walk away after one of your videos knowing more than I did before I watched it.

    Good tips, for the viewers when you chalk out your walls with a chalk line spray the line with hairspray, they won't fade or be erased as easily.

    Beauty video as usual. Are you still in Alberta? I didn’t know those plastic electrical boxes were allowed here.

    Some of this depends on where you are building -
    In a major centre with journeymen drywall subtrades ( people that went to school and served a real apprenticeship on interior systems ) - you can ignore all of the bulkheads and have the drywall guys make them on the fly.
    Ideally - radiant heat should be within the slab everywhere.
    Where is the blocking in the interior walls?

    • @uptokode
      @uptokode  3 роки тому +1

      I like your comment. No blocking in these walls as they are short and don’t need them unless over 10 ft tall. I normally block for a 9 ft wall but nothing less

    • @brucemacneil
      @brucemacneil 3 роки тому

      @@uptokode I would ask for blocking and am accustomed to seeing it by default.

    Is there a code for nail size on non-load bearing partition walls in Winnipeg. Everything I read online says they need to be 3.25 inches length 16d (0.148 inches) diameter but the only framing nails for nail guns in the store are 3.25 inches length and 0.120.inch diameter. Am I missing something?

    • @uptokode
      @uptokode  5 місяців тому

      I personally wouldn’t get hung up on the slight diameter difference, especially for a non-load bearing wall.
