I was once asked to tour for a summer with a Ramones tribute band, playing bass. The money would have been better than my "real" job at the time, but I turned it down because geeez, I can't even pick up women as a lead guitar player, I'm def not going to be able to do it as a bass player 🤣

Yep we are so under appreciated. But we all know who holds down the fort in a band. I always laugh to myself when i see a guitarist showing up to a gig with a ton of gear and I just show up with my bass, an amp and maybe 4 pedals at most. lol At least we can have a laugh at them hurting their backs lugging all that stuff and going broke buying all that gear.

I love how the triangle players never get much credit, but from my time in marching band and jazz band, I had it crammed down my throat that the triangle is the hardest (at least percussion) instrument out there to play, because it’s SOO easy to change the pitch just ever so slightly if you’re not careful…
Moral of the story, don’t hate on an “easy” instrument just because it LOOKS easy

When I interned at a recording studio, the owner said the triangle and the tambourine are the most difficult instruments to play when recording. You have to know exactly what you're doing or you're gonna mess up

The tambourine because it's extremely difficult to stay in time and keep the proper motion for consistent hits, and I can't remember why the triangle, but probably for the reason you mentioned

Hey man I just discovered your channel and subscribed. I've literally been watching your channel for the last 6 hours. I just bought an Ibanez acoustic, it's a pretty good guitar. I put the guitar up for the last 5 years I've been playing since I was 14 self-taught. Unlike a lot of other guitar players, I've got big fat hands with short fingers. I got discouraged when I realized that there are just certain notes that I'm never going to be able to hit proper. But I decided to not let that stop me, so my question for you is I've always played acoustic. Dragging an amp and a guitar around places was never my thing I was always on the go and acoustic just fit my lifestyle better. Will switching my efforts over into an electric piece make hitting some of those harder notes easier especially the use of my thumb to fret like John Mayer. Super impossible for me on an acoustic.

Ever notice how every person you talk to seems to understand that unplugging and putting the phone down is a good thing we all should do- but no one ever does it? If even half the people who profess to value face to face conversation and "unplugging" would do it- we wouldn't have an issue. This is just like 90 something percent of drivers will tell you they feel like they're in the top ten percent as far as driving skills. We all over estimate our abilities when it comes to things like driving and none of us practice the good, practical sense we preach- it's just lip service.

Absolutely, a video of virtuosos would’ve been a lot funnier. I know when I was a freshman in college, I tried to play the most chill/virtuoso sounding music that I possibly could. Lol if you years later that I discovered that really connecting with the person and crafting the perfect soundtrack was the best approach.

Chicks are weird. When I played in a cover band, our biggest crowd favorites among the ladies were "The Breakup Song" and "My Own Worst Enemy." Never failed to get all the women on their feet, dancing and hooting and hollering.
