This content is ending the GATEKEEPING in tattoo industry.
And I'm here for it.
Not at all lol. Nothing is free, besides irezumi art has been around before tattoos . So ……. Sure buddy
if ur a scratcher then ur a scratcher and u cant pull off Japanese trad anyway so why does it matter
If I’m not mistaken, in Japanese mythology the koi is actually represented fighting against the current to transform in a dragon. It symbolizes perseverance and determination. Can someone confirm?
Anyway, sick sketch ❤️🔥
Youre correct…
One of the most famous eastern folktales involving Koi is of the fish swimming upstream towards dragon’s gate, once it passes through it, it transforms into a dragon.
When Magikarp evolves into Gyarados.
It’s actually Chinese mythology, the koi swimming the yellow river
It's not a Japanese story. But yeah the dragon part and all is right
Yes the koi swim up the white river if I'm not mistaken and those that are strong enough to make it to the top turn into dragons the dragon headed koi fish not exactly sure what it's called a koi dragon it's like a koi fish with a dragon's head symbolizes the transformation.
Remember first hearing of Chris Carver in 2004 tattooing from east to west and as a left-handed tattoo artist it was invaluable for me to see him I’ve been tattooing for 14 years today May 18💯
Chris I love your work. You are a big reason that I got into tattooing. My passion is Japanese art. I truly look up to you. Thank you for being inspiration for me.
What i also found very impressive in this video is all the tattoos he has on his body are still looking so good
I love your art class videos. i learn so much from them.
This video was beautiful. Garver is a real master.
"Beautiful Line Work!" Excellent Draftsmanship!
Finally a tutorial with actual drawing! I just went thru several that were all just pasting already made art together from online and using procreate to edit them together. I use references but there is something about drawing and making your own ideas that just seem more valuable.
Great to hear!
Nice getting a tutorial from another lefty. Thanks y’all ✌️
Fish scales can seem like a nightmare sometimes. This helped a lot to see them as more of a criss cross pattern than circles. Thanks
Beautiful sketching, and that you are left handed, so am I. I love your skills.
Keep posting these! I love them!!!
So pleasant and relaxing to watch him do this
Miss your tattoo's and artwork from Miami Ink. Good to see you're back 👍

Thank you @chrisgarver for sharing this.
Wow thanks, super good tutorial!
In 2009 when I went to Taku in Hollywood ( who trained for a short time under Chris) wouldn’t let me get the koi going down for my half sleeve because he said it was bad luck.
Seeing Chris do it here and almost recommend it in a sense, makes me wish I got what I really wanted.
Still an amazing piece though :)

thanks the for this video. after years (20+) of a “break” away from drawing this video has inspired me to draw again.
BTW what size and weight/ style of paper are you using?
Amazing
Veru nice tutorial thank yo very much
amazing
Excelente!!!!
I am sorry if this has been asked before. What are the pens that you use? They seem to dry pretty quick and give consistently good line work. I am also a left handed artist and I smudge the shit out of some of my work by not having the ink dry before hitting certain areas. I have resorted to wearing those 2 finger gloves when I draw now haha. Thanks for the great videos also!!!
Wow❤️
Wow👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great work. Very precise and practiced. Brilliant. I've drawn for around twenty four yrs now myself. Love your work. Been tattooing a long time also. Always looking to further my knowledge and technique. My ambition is to eventually get liscence and in a shop or run a small part time shop. I'd love to chat sometime. Maybe I can learn some advise and tips.
what brand of markers do you use? they look like they work super well and i wanna make sure my line work looks consistently clean on paper
More videos like this 👍🏼

Hi!
I really hope you could help me with a doubt.
I do have a huge problem with a tiny tattoo in my ankle. I have a part of it near the foot plant that is erased over and over, no matter what.
The question is that if you know a solution or a technique advice for that.
Thanks a lot
