taking out the intake balance shaft is easy, is the exhaust balance shaft that is a pain in the ass when are shut on the block.

09 passat 2.0t tsi ccta engine 226,000.00 miles. Replaced the timing chain components and had the head rebuilt 2 yr back. Now engine oil light randomly comes on, says shut engine down. I've replaced the oil pump along with 3 oil sending unit/sensor switch. The last being oem brand. Has 46 psi at idle and a bit more at upper rpm. Found light extremely small aluminum shavings best seen in sunlight in the oil pan. I'm pretty sure at this point it is the balance shafts. I've always ran wix oil filters but last oil change was by walmart because my wife randomly decided to do that, they used a fram oil filter andni believe that's what caused my current issue. I have personally seen 2x that a fram oil filter starved an engine of oil making them rattle once started and idling. One was a 79 ford f100 with a 302 engine and the second vehicle was a 96 chevy cavalier 4 cylinder 5 speed car. Anyways good vid and thanks

you need to remove all the oil screens; there is one in the fuel pump, cam side, another in the cam bridge and four if I recall in the balance shafts. It is nothing w FRAM oil filters.
Do a compression test, if low, possibly carbon deposits in the oil rings, they are shut more than likely.
Check your spark plugs for signs of oil.
