Hello Jim and Mrs Vincitore, thank you for making your video. I replaced both of my washers& springs today on my kitchen Delta glass knobs. I had all the necessary tools to do the job. Hey, Jim. I just want to thank you for publishing this video. Although I have much respect for plumbers, electricians and carpenters, I would rather attempt to do small jobs myself and leave the heavy lifting to the professionals. I just had to watch less than 6 minutes of this video to get an idea of what I was getting into. Thanks again,
Hi Greg! You're welcome! I have a video where we replace a whole kitchen sink faucet, it's not difficult either. The kits at the hardware store make it real easy. I also have a few toilet videos where we did repairs, and I just overhauled another toilet (all new parts $19.00 from Walmart) again the kits at the hardware store make it real easy. And I'm not handy around the house, if I can do it, anyone can! Thanks for watching! Jim
One of your best tools is the camera in your smartphone. (The flashlight app is also handy.) Use the camera to take photos at each step of the disassembly. Reference the photos during reassembly. At 1:29, your video shows the original orientation of the valve (before you disassembled it). I suspect this was originally configured backward from convention (more on this below). At 11:03, your video shows that you installed the valve 180 degrees off of the original orientation. What is the correct rotation to turn a valve on/off? For standalone gate valves and stop valves, turning the valve counter-clockwise turns on the water flow. Is this how all valves should be configured? Think about lever handles. The levers for the hot and cold water valves are on the opposite side of their respective valve stems. The cold water handle is to the right of its valve stem and the hot water handle is to the left of its valve stem. This results in opposite rotations to turn on the water flow. - To turn on the cold water flow, pulling the lever toward you results in a clockwise turn. - To turn on the hot water flow, pulling the lever toward you results in a counter-clockwise turn. By convention, the rotation should not depend on what type of handle sits on top of the valve stem. Whether you have a lever handle or a knob handle should matter. The convention is to configure them as described above. This is very intuitive for lever handles, but some people get confused when using knob handles. There is no right or wrong answer. Either way works. So feel free to throw out convention and configure the valves the way you like.

Why did you replace the cold water washer and spring? Didn't the hot water valve repair fix the leak? Maybe I missed something? Assuming the hot water valve repair fixed the leak, then the old saying applies, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I think they sell the spring and grommet separately so that you can just those as replacements instead of the part you purchased. I do agree though, however, that those parts should be included or they should offer one with and one without so one could choose to buy the part either way.
Thanks for the sub! I did a video on that. There is a $10.00 fuse in the back you can replace yourself. If you push the dryer back against the wall, it crimps the exhaust hose, that causes the fuse to overheat and blow.

Hi Mark! Yep. I put new ones in a few days ago too, they were a tight fit too. They worked good. It was not the Delta brand, they did not have those in stock.
Hi Darrell! I'm not sure what you mean. But replacing the big insert, and the spring and black rubber washer, should fix all the leaks. That's the only parts inside mine. You don't have to fix both sides, you only need to fix the side that leaks. I usually go to Lowes/Home Depot and other hardware stores and talk to the plumber. You might have to ask around to find the plumber. He is usually an older retired plumber fella who is now working at Lowes. If you can, take a picture of your faucet and show it to him, they might be able to figure out the brand, like Delta, Pella, etc. If it's a faucet that has a DIVERTER, check out the videos I did on that, I posted those just a month ago, may 2019. Thanks for watching! Jim
Hi Evan! I'm don't know about that stuff. I think I watched a UA-cam RV'er a few months ago put a regular shower facet in his RV. Something like that. I look for the video and link it below. Thanks for watching! Jim
Standard rule for any project is that you pay attention to what position part was in during removal process. But, I think not doing so is a mistake we all tend to make frequently.
I bought the first thing whatever you call $15 and did not fix the problem, got so mad, i hate when i cant fix things, then went back and bought the spring and the rubber for $5 was it worked perfect....so the first purchase was not needed! Got mad with my wife because i could not fix it, time to make up
Please identify things, rather than just say "old one" and "new one". It makes it easier when I am in the hardware store, purchasing things, to know the correct name!

There is a star bolts, lots are starting to use those instead of phillips.
How do you fix if one tap is on the other leaks and vice...
Jim
Thanks

Hi Evan! I'm don't know about that stuff. I think I watched a UA-cam RV'er a few months ago put a regular shower facet in his RV. Something like that. I look for the video and link it below. Thanks for watching! Jim

Thanks, VERY helpful!!!!
If the faucet was off when you removed the handle then I'd assume you'd place the part in in the off position. And of course vice versa
Thank you! You're welcome! Thanks for watching! Jim
Standard rule for any project is that you pay attention to what position part was in during removal process. But, I think not doing so is a mistake we all tend to make frequently.
Thank you! You're welcome! Thanks for watching! Jim
Thank You

I miss my Dad teaching me things. We never read instructions either 😢

Make sure to leave the tools in the sink when testing to see if it works 😂

Got mad with my wife because i could not fix it, time to make up
Sink Faucet Repair, Delta Bathroom Sink Drips
Thanks, Jim. I think I'll by the generic brand so I don't have to replace the spring and washer seperately
Please identify things, rather than just say "old one" and "new one". It makes it easier when I am in the hardware store, purchasing things, to know the correct name!
Hi Sally! Great point! I hear ya! I'm not a plumber, I think they are called rubber washers, springs, and inserts. But I'm guessing! Jim
I was getting motion sickness with camera motion when first faucet was repaired & missed seeing important parts when camera moved off area of interest!! Camera handling was better on second faucet repair.
This lady was picky. I cant stand when somebody watches me work.ti be honest, I dont even like helpers.
