    Beautiful car! That 307 V8 Olds Motor that it has in it is extremely reliable, powerful and smooth. We had the same engine in a 1984 Olds Delta 88 that served us for two decades before we sold it to a guy who is still using it with over 280,000 miles on it now! I think it had at least 73,000 miles on it by 1988 already. And your car only has 73,000 now in 2012 -- amazing!

    Wow, I thought it was 1988 again there for a second. Ever notice people tend to gravitate toward the cars they seen on the road in thier formative years? I recall seeing these driving around when I was a kid. Cool stuff, especially ridin' on McLeans.

    Nice wire wheels, I still prefer the Cragars though, love these Cadillac Broughams, my favorite are the 90-92s

    The best engine in those caprices is when they switched to the corvette lt1, that engine was very powerful and the c ar drove fantastic, I had a 96 Roadmaster with that lt1 and it was fantastic the mpg wasnt that bad either

    i like the old days were we had much more variety of different looking cars, now just look like pieces of metal mushed together and 4 wheels added, they call that aerodynamic , i am tired of looking at the same areodynamic cars over and over and so on , i would like to see more variety like the 70s 80s and maybe 1990 and 1991, i dont know what people have against the big boat cars.

    leather seats in the 80s cadillacs look nicer but from my experience with an 1986 buick prk avenue pillow top velour seats, im sure the ones in that cadillac would feel much more comfortable...especiallyin the winter! lol

    yep ! Those nice RWD V8s sedans are very cool, but Cadillac is very iconic. We tend to like the things we cannot get, right ? A big and soft car like that would never work in my city/country, but if I did a big roadtrip in the US, it would be my pick ! And that way, I probably would not be arrested for bad/speedy driving !!!
    BTw, liked your videos, beautifull roads and woods

    I agree with you on the big wheels, they are ridiculous and wrong for pretty much both classic and modern cars.

    These were the road cars from the 80s. The Broughams,Caprices,Roadmasters{early 90s}. aand for had claims t the Grand Marques,Crown Vics, and the TownCars. The towncars were the last RWD cars from america that stay in productions. We will never see cars like these again.

    11th digit of the vin = 9 means a car one of the last built in the Detroit plant, rather than built in the Texas plant. That is a 307 Olds V8 with an overdrive transmission.

  • @leerrooyyjenkins
    @leerrooyyjenkins 12 років тому

    sweet i gotta find one then, the gasoline and diesel here in sweden are around 15 sek per litre = around 2 dollars a litre so the diesel is a more suitable V8 if you wanna ride in style

  • @harryrez
    @harryrez 12 років тому

    Yes that is true i do agree with you, i for a short time had an 83 eldorado with the 4100 and the motor ran beautifully. The body was just in very poor shape so i parted it out however i would still rather have a 307 or a 350 =)

    Oh ok yeah that would make sense, well none the less all of those motors are ones i would have in my car any day, I actually have a 305 4 barrel in my 86 caprice

    I guess this is the car that I think when I think american cars. Seen so many on the tv or movies, but never a real one. Ive seen some limos but not the normal sedan. And in white with the gold bits is almost ridiculous. I love it! Are they anygood? Ok, they float on the HW, but on a broken/bad road? I would buy it for a US roadtrip. There is your comment Nathan.

    This here is what I call a Cadillac. This time period and before. What GM makes in todays time are not Cadillac's. They're just dressed up chevy's with a Cadillac emblem on it.

  • @bigcrowfly
    @bigcrowfly 12 років тому

    The Olds engine was used in the wagons and Caddy (instead of the Chevy engine) because it got better EPA mileage ratings (even with a Carb), enough so that there was no gas guzzler penalty in the wagons even though they were heavier than the sedans. GM wanted to be politically correct and did not want to make cars designated as gas guzzlers. Incidently at the time the smaller Volare based Chrysler 5th Ave/Diplomat/GrandFury with 318 got worse mileage and were subject to the gas guzzler penalty.

    @CerealMarshmallows Cadillac have been out since 1906 for memory. alot longer than merchugers ... honestly the inline 6 that merchugers make is absolutely gutless & so underpowerd Ford Australia made a 243ci 4.0L Inline 6 & they produce 210hp-240hp in the early 90's & they also produce torque figgures ranging from 260lb-ft to 280lb-ft & thats out of a computerised 6 more high tech than merchugers 6 cylinder motors
