I wouldn't be using sealer. The standard BMW paper gasket is perfect, just a smear of grease either side and fit it. Sealer can become dislodged and make it's way into the engine, blocking an oil way.
I have the same engine with the same problem. You made your own gasket but I was able to buy one. Also when I bought a new bush it came with the O-rings already on it..which is great. But I also ordered two O-rings. guess a good spares. I see so many videos for the larger engine - glad I got this motor as it is much easier to work on!
Thank you! I'd like to make more videos but better quality but unfortunately, I don't have the right equipment for it right now. Hopefully soon though!
thanks mate, this just happened with my 318ci, so i guess its time to get that gasket. only good thing is that the car was up for an oil change anyways.
Hello, please reply! My valve (the little ring) is from metal! Not rubber. I did order one, it came in rubber like yours. Do I just pull the metal one off and put the rubber there?
hey, did this about 7000kms ago, and it started leaking again uugh i think its because of the rtv maybe.. is yours still good? im gonna retorque the bolts and see if it helps
@@Motor-repairs yeah i did but used some generic ones so i think that might be the problem, im ordering the parts from the dealership now.. Hopefully it lasts this time
Hi! Great vid, one question though- I believe I saw you have GB plates, could you please tell me where did you find those damned o-rings as I have no luck at all :(
Hey sorry for the delay, I never got any email regards to any email :O I got my gasket and O rings from dealership, you can phone your local BMW. Or you could even go on eBay, just as good. Just search up BMW M43 Oil filte housing gasket and look for the one with o rings with. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-OIL-FILTER-HOUSING-GASKET-O-RING-SET-M43-E30-E36-E46-E34-Z3-11421709800-/391428870755
Sealer is not needed and can block the oil passages, especially in such high quantity .... but what am i talking about , this car might not even exists today LOL
Seriously you can’t over rate the service to the community that UA-cam mechanics make. Saving people bazillions of dollars. Thanks mate. Great job

Small tip for people.. the o rings on your radiator cap fit perfectly on the oil valve
Nice DIY for a first video...you did well, thanks.

Actually your phone works well and the video is clear, you can use it in the mean time no need to incur extra expenses. cheers.
Thank you! Really appreciate it!
Thanks Joni. Found your clip and it helped me out a treat!

wwandyyww yeah it's best to do it when oil change is due.
Thanks for this video bud! Helped a lot!
Good video mate but you should of purchased the proper gasket for it.
way too much silicone sealant, its blocking oilsupply
Thx man, helped me a lot! ❤
Bois the bolts behind the alternator are a size : 10 for small bolt and size 12 for the big bolt
You’re welcome
Keep up! Good work
Great to see videos on the M43! Subbed :)
I'm glad! I'm hoping on getting more videos done soon. Nothing much going wrong at the moment lol
Haha I won't wish it on you so ;).
My Sons 318i is leaking on the lower right driver side of the pully drip drip drip when started what could it be

My oil filter top is metal too, like the m3 ones. No idea why. It's a m43b18 tho
buy the valve instead of 2 o rings works out same price as you get o rings with the valve
Jayash patel could do this too!
what is the part number or what size of the O-ring thanks
Part number for the O ring I believe is "11421709513" and the size I believe is "24x3", you'll need 2 of them.
Jono's Auto Repairs thanks so much
No problem
why you did not put the idler pulley?
He didn't even have it to begin with. Maybe he lost it in the highway
Anyone know the parts number for the gasket ?
Why is my water coming out and mixed with oil in my water wall
hey, did this about 7000kms ago, and it started leaking again uugh i think its because of the rtv maybe.. is yours still good? im gonna retorque the bolts and see if it helps
Mines still good. I've done 35,000 miles since then.
@@Motor-repairs should i use more rtv on the second time? Idk what failed tbh. Maybe im gonna up the torque up a bit too
Did you change the 2 o rings on the return valve?
@@Motor-repairs yeah i did but used some generic ones so i think that might be the problem, im ordering the parts from the dealership now.. Hopefully it lasts this time
@@wwandyyww yeah I used genuine once and it's still okay. Also make sure the surfaces are 110% clean before putting it back together.
"don't leave your keys in the boot"
guilty
Are sure that you have enough silicone?
Plenty! Not had any problems since and have done 6K miles since then.

I have a 97 Tahoe 5.7 and I have very high oil pressure and oil blows out my oil filter and I don't know why can anyone help
There's usually a pressure valve within the oil filter housing. Potentially clogged up with gunk?
why not buy a new gasket kit?=?
this is not to bad on the views and like for only 10 subs.
Thanks my friend! I hope it takes off soon!
Co za osioł zalepił to wszystko sylikonem. Otwór olejowy zalepiony sylikonem to się musi źle skończyć.
Fuckn L. Still love it
Good videos dude but stop talking and get on with it
I'm working on it. New videos are coming soon on a BMW M54 engine for a turbo build.
