I don't see what purpose is served by referring to all non-luxury watches as dog shit. Hamilton, higher level Seiko's, Tissot, Maurice Lacroix, etc. might not rise to the level of what you would consider luxury but they're certainly not in the same category as Invicta, Michael Kors, Fossil, Movado, etc. There are a lot of people who either don't have the financial wherewithal to afford Rolex+ or choose to spend some money on other pursuits such as travel, sports, boating, etc. They buy great non-luxury watches because they prefer mechanical watches to quartz. They appreciate the history and horological accomplishments of other companies besides Rolex and Patek. And they like variety in their collections and don't want to just have twelve variations of the Daytona or Submariner. These folks should be encouraged to buy watches that although not up to your questionable standards, are far superior to the junk that the average consumer buys. Every time a watch geek chooses a Hamilton over an Invicta, an Oris over a Tag, a Tissot over a Kors, a Sinn over a Squale, a Maurice Lacroix over a MVMT or Movado should be a time for celebration.

I really don't see the Omega moon watch as a luxury watch. It may be a good investment, but it is not luxury. Especially with the trendy but inferior hesalite crystal. A 2 bdrm, 2 bath ranch home in a decent LA suburb is a good investment, but definitely not luxury. The speedy falls in the same category.
