I have done this, or a variation of it, since I was a kid, casting for flounder on the gulf coast. Nice technique, one thing though, I always try to ream and round and smooth the two openings of the weight, today's flouro , braid, and even mono, will probably be o.k , but as cast, lead egg sinkers can have sharp edges that will cut you line under tension.

Great tip! I did it before rim around the holes to smooth the opening, I should show it next time.
@Gene Fishing TV it was more common, to my memory, decades ago, that when you went to your local tackle shop, that all of the mold seams , etc, would already be clean, just because it was probably happening in house, but I've noticed lately, especially with new alloys and requirements about lead, that some weights can really cut your line.

لا داعي لكل هذا فقط ادخل الخيط ثلاث مرات او اربع فقط ، سوف يثبت الثقل ولا يتحرك ويمكنك ان تفك هذه اللفات بسهولة وتغير المكان او وزن الثقل ، ولاينقطع الخيط عكس ماقام بع صاحب المقطع وعمل ربطات قد ينقطع عند سحبه بقوة ويختنق الخيط عند ما يعلق بالصخور .

I have never seen that. Looks like a waist of time. Just thread the main through the egg sinker, add a barrel swivel on the tag. Make a stronger leader. Aka Carolina rig.
Problem is you lose your weight if you get snagged. The way in the video you get to keep your weight

Doesn’t make any sense. Sinker will bounce thru rocks and damage the line. Fish bites, feel the sinker, spit the hook. Let the line to go free thru the hole, that’s the point.
that’s why you use a circle hook so it sets itself
