The last time I shot a C-bow was back in the mid 80's. It was a borrowed bow 8-10 days before opening day. I had never been deer hunting before, with bow or rifle,,I didn't have a clue. So I had it restrung and chose an aperture sight . Since my family collected military rifles that was my preference. I showed up for my first ''lesson'' with these old schoolers and was the only one with a ''peep''. I was abruptly told that ''Yer never gonna hit sheeeeeit with that sight.'' In a half hr I was drillin 4-5 shots inside a 10'' paper plate at 40 yrds, they were doin' not so good. I think I pissed em off,, oh well. FF>> 30 yrs, I'm lookin for another C-bow. I did all the research and finally went to B-Outfitters. After shootin' all the latest bows in the house I was at a loss for which bow to choose, none of them were ''callin my name.'' I surly had a look on my face because the Archery dept Mgr said,''Take 5 man, I'll be right back''. He brings me a Hoyt Vector Turbo,, ''Try this''. Even without a sight it was,''THUNK,, THUNK,, THUNK,,,,,, '' None of the other bows even came close to the smooth draw/release, or the solid feeling/sound of power delivered by the H-VT. He even gave me a great deal,, it was last years model. Honestly,, I don't even know enough about them to understand what's so special about this particular bow. It's as if other makes/models are somehow a shadow of the H-VT. Obviously you are an expert in this field,, what do you think? (And for the record, after 10 yrs, 5 physical therapists and 2 acupuncturists for deep chronic back pain,, this activity is the ONLY relief I've ever found for the muscles under my left shoulder blade. For some people, this is the answer they've been praying for)
hello, Try shooting a two finger vane up hole allows for the arrow to have the most amount of steerage as it comes out of the bow. That way your group at 80 yards is a fist rather then two fists. Try it see your results and make your decision from your results, my results was a tighter grip and the 50 others I set up. I do suggest doing it in the off season don't mess with your bow during hunting season.
question, when you draw the arrow back, does it lock in that position? i ask because in minute 2:05 it looks like it locked there after you drew it back. I'm literally a noob about archery, and have just started today watching some videos of it, but i'm super intrigued, ps that design on the bow is very similar to the mathew z7, not that i care because i fucking love that design.
I'm really confused now, all lot of people are like, use back tension, the shot should be a surprise, don't slap the trigger, etc... but I see you, and eric from hush shooting the same way, the way your trigger finger looks, and you and him have the best groups I've seen. Please respond.
why do you only shoot a 100 gr broadhead? when I went to my shop they were all really convinced of shooting 125gr for better penetration while hunting?
+James Kozak not to mention his inserts are probably 40-80grains and his arrows are only 26" but fmj's which way a ton. He said his darts are 450grain! I get pass through the on pigs at 40m with my 440s @70lbs, and he shoots 80lbs!!!
He is also shooting FMJ's which are one of the heaviest arrows for spine you can get. What arrows do you shoot? Your probably shooting a lighter arrow than what he is and the Heli-M's are a fast bow aswell.
I shoot the 2012 Hoyt Vector 32... My Draw Length is 27, Draw Weight is 70 lbs, and I am also shooting FMJ 400s... and I am at or around 300 FPS as well...
I got literaly the first Z7 extreme that came into my local shop last year, after about 100 shots it would CLICK every time i drew it back! So it went back to the shelf and a HOYT Maxxis 31 was then in hand. SOOO smooth on the draw compared to a mathews, no clicking, no funny noise. I have at least 2000 shots thru it and its still like brand new. WHY is your peep not tied in? That does help them rotate.. also TENNESSE twist your D LOOP so its in line with your peep, it helped mine..
I bought a 2012 hoyt rampage xt I had clicking from grip.. and also splintered the limbs.. for them replaced under warranty.. I gave the tech permission to use limbs for different model they already had in shop..I didn't care if the stickers didn't match... also bought a new grim reaper string so I get it back day before opener third shot at half draw strings flies off... that was five years ago haven't picked it up since but I found out they forgot one of the spacers on top cam.....
Was it just me, or did it look like that peep wasn't tied or served in? I know it must have been, but I couldn't see any serving or a tie around the peep. Magic?
I believe it was served in, looks like black above the peep and red below it to accent the string colors. Nice idea I might have that done for my next bow or if I restring my current one
+PatientZero 609 Cam just tuned the bow and had not served it yet! A good string at 80lbs will hold the peep just fine without serving all day long! Ya just would not want to bump it, that's all.
You are aware that the bow noise is just the soft whiisshh noise right? The loud, sharp noise is the arrow hitting the target like a Mack truck. The reason a Mathews wouldn't make as loud a noise is cause the arrow coming out of it would be hitting the target like a wet noodle.
just because mathews is better for you dose not mean its better for everyone, heck my main bow now is a helim and I think that the vecter 32 has a more comfortable grip that's harder to torque, and the vecter turbo is a speed bow, I have never seen a mathews monster(there speed bow) that had there cams in sync right out of the bow.
So my 28in draw needs an arrow at least 27.5 so his draw is either at 27.5 or 27, as a rule i have noticed 10fps per inch gaind in draw so its 300 at 27, so that puts it about 320 with the heaviest possible arrow at 29" which is what IBO speeds are tested at get a lighter arrow and get over 330fps... I suppose his draw could be even shorter than that as well...
let's see, 478gr arrow, at 27" draw, with a peep and string silencers. Ibo is shot at max weight, max drawlength, and the lightest arrow possible 5gpi. The ibo scale is a joke. All it shows is max speed and that's it.

Shooting a lil over 78lbs and shooting 300fps? Although you are only shooting a 26" arrow it just seems like it should be shooting faster. I've hit 326fps with my Mathews Heli-M...

Wow 78#! BEAST! I use a Hoyt Carbon Element RKT at 60# I need to check my speed.
Question.... what does the hole through paper tell you? New to the sport and just curious.
Team Hoyt the only way to go.
I want that shirt soooo fudging bad.

Nice setup, I’m a bowtech guy but nevertheless nice.
Is a used hoyt vector 32 for 340 a good deal?
why do you only shoot a 100 gr broadhead? when I went to my shop they were all really convinced of shooting 125gr for better penetration while hunting?
its really doesnt matter. i use 100 grain Grim reapers and never had a issue. goes right threw the deer
+James Kozak not to mention his inserts are probably 40-80grains and his arrows are only 26" but fmj's which way a ton. He said his darts are 450grain! I get pass through the on pigs at 40m with my 440s @70lbs, and he shoots 80lbs!!!

All star to tell you if the arrow is flying straight

Dan Sørensen looks like a trophy taker

Spot Hogg.
"Hogg Father" is the model.

Hi Сam. how is long this bow? i mean how big ?
27 inches. He says it in another vid. He feels more accurate the shorter it is

I can't find that shirt anywhere.
Never hide behind the paper....
how much is that bow worth?
What color scheme is that? Could not find that n their website.
Just curious but how is your ibo so low shooting 78 pounds of draw weight bud?
That arrow probably weighs right around 450 grains. My FMJs do at least. FMJs are heavy.
Ryan Dickover he is a 27" draw so he is about 30fps slower then ibo
+Zachary Caviness and he shoot 26" draw which kills speed as well!
let's see, 478gr arrow, at 27" draw, with a peep and string silencers. Ibo is shot at max weight, max drawlength, and the lightest arrow possible 5gpi. The ibo scale is a joke. All it shows is max speed and that's it.

Narly
Trophy Taker drop away.
