Help me out, Chris. My wife is actually considering this very same E400 Cabriolet when her BMW lease is ended this coming December. She is currently driving a 435i hardtop convertible. It's a beautiful car alright but I nearly fainted at the Mercedes dealership when I saw the listed base price as compared to the fully optioned MSRP. They even charge extra for a backup camera! I'm betting this tester still has options left off the sticker sheet. Yikes and double yikes.
Exactly, J High. They are expensive vehicles. I always tell people that they're wonderful if you can afford them. However, if it would be a stretch, you may want to consider something different. BMW is a similar brand, though, so if you were ok with them, there's a good chance you'll be ok with the Benz with regards to cost of ownership (maintenance, typical expenses, etc.). Now with that being said, while I was testing this one, I told my wife that if I had 85 grand to spend on a fun convertible, I'd have no problem with this one. It was that nice. Plus, when you spend that kind of money, most people want to make a statement and be noticed. This car in this color combination does that. It was truly beautiful. I don't miss very many press vehicles when they are returned, but this one I did. Let me know if you're serious about getting one and have any more questions.

( E220D - E350 ) do other colors exist for those models?
We're pretty sure they do, Yxvraj, but black is the most common interior color so that's what will be readily available on the preowned market. We wouldn't be surprised if all the exterior colors you've been seeing are black, white or silver, either. Keep looking and you might find something to your liking. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Which body style, Chris? This or previous generation W212 cabriolet?
We never had an opportunity to review the previous-gen E-Class, Monstah 1911, but we've driven a few current-gen versions and they are all wonderful. The interiors are much nicer in the new cars. If all things were equal regarding price, mileage, etc., we'd take the newer car any day, but we understand things don't work that way, as you have to give on something, even if it's just some options. To sum it up, the newer car is really nice and worth a consideration if it fits in your budget. Thanks for watching!

It'll probably be in the shop a lot and need major repairs by 100k miles like most MB cars these days. Nice car for rich people who trade in every 2yrs.
