  • The ABNY Young Professionals held its first ever webinar with Adam Grossman Meagher, Senior Vice President, Neighborhood Strategies, Planning Division, New York City Economic Development Corporation, where he discussed the Sunnyside Yard Master Plan, a new framework that will focus on building new public transit and affordable housing. The plan calls for the creation of the long-sought Sunnyside Station, 100 percent affordable housing with 12,000 homes, 60 acres of new open space, equitable homeownership opportunities, and infrastructure and other public amenities on a publicly controlled site.

Ridiculous. It still separates the community with that opening and no Central Park? Why not create a large park that is so desperately needed in this area with other amenities surrounding it? This is literally a no brainer. Urban planning fail.

I agree. If that opening was capped and become one long park or a few smaller yet still very large seperated parks, then the people who live there will be very happy. The plan would be as good as it gets...
