Since the clip is made in aluminium, I fear it might bend out of shape with use and lose tension. Assuming you carried it in pocket, was clip deformation a problem? Also how the cap held up over the years?
Nice (for a pen), but I just find it hard to see myself carrying something with a scratchy, pointy, jabby glass-breaker like that. Guess I'm just not that tactical!
I carry my Microtech Ultratech every day and the glass breaker doesnt get bigger than the one on this OTF. I havent had any problems with it. I dont seeing it being too big of an issue on a smaller pen. Just my opinion.
Glad to see that the cap posts. Zero Tolerance has been scarce with promotional shots of these things. Although I'd much, much rather have a clicky pen.
Great review! ... and then here is the Bic pen. Lol! Wasnt expecting that. The only Tac pen that I have is the CRKT Tao. I love it and I like to have more gear that I can use every day. Looks good too.
I think the 100 dollar price tag is ridiculous. I found a vendor selling them for 68 dollars, until he realized his error --not falling in line with MAP pricing and the pen is now at 100 dollars. I would of bought it while it was 68, but I was waiting for the brown coloration. Shame..
EpicSnuggleBunny No doubt. I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing it while I could. The ti version is priced even more ridiculously high. I'm just not seeing the value on a 6061 aluminum pen. I think ZT assumes the fan boys will buy it nonetheless. Here's hoping reate introduces a similar offering ;)
duroSIG556R That could be a fair assumption. They did bring it to market based on the numerous requests from ZT fans, but it remains to be seen how well they sell. Price wise, they compare very well against the competition: Benchmade, TuffWriter and others. I'm quite curious to see the Titanium version at some point. The picture so far look like incomplete renders to me.While the price of the Ti one is expensive, Ti Hinderer pens are in the same price point, and lets not get started on specific pen companies out there such as Mont Blanc and others. Anyhow, lots of good stuff coming from Kai this year.
Nice video. I'm looking for something like this--covert appearance, functional every day use but in a pinch could serve as a weapon.

So far everything is perfect. The black coating has chipped in a few places, but that is to be expected with use. Still love this pen.

There are lots of nice pens out there built for EDC, if you can find one the TiBolt is epic.

Nice review. Still waiting for a vid of the earth brown version to see if it goes well with my 0392bwbrz
waas not aware that zt also had pens, good video mate
Did the cap stay strong or fall off After time.did the cap stay fit when i pull the pen from pocket?
No issues with the caps at all
Nice Video! Would you also review the Ti version of that pen, as soon as it releases? Greetings from Germany
Thank you for watching! If I have the funds available I will do the review.
good review on a nice pen!!
Thanks!
I want one of them so badly...!!!

I was hoping to eventually get one of the Ti models from the same vendor assuming he would have a better price on it. Alas it won't be the case. :-(

duroSIG556R BTW, it would be really cool if Reate did bring a pen to market!
whats the pen on the right side?
How do you like this compared to the Benchmade?
+Raden100
I prefer the ZT, which is why I have both this black aluminum version and the titanium version.
+EpicSnuggleBunny thanks I'm offloading a bunch of pens and was looking at getting a nice capped pen to add to my collection of Ti pens
+EpicSnuggleBunny you should do a quick review of the Ti version
looks almost identical to the benchmade pen... just has different detail milling on the body.

Yep, after 60 knife videos my brain is hardwired for knives.
