    20,000 kms is really good for a sprocket. And I've lost my original chain sprocket around 11,000 kms on my mt 15. Since I've bought my bike on hand second I don't know about how the previous owner maintained the bike. And I've changed to rolon brass and clocked around 5600 kms without any problems.Till now I haven't adjusted my chain sprocket . It's going good .

      Hey thanks for sharing this. 11K on MT15! Looks like the owner never did chain maintenance. I do regular maintenance and I think that's the reason for the 20K life. Cheers man!

      Bro need your help, how is the chain sprocket ??? Is it really good to invest over the stock one, if you could elaborate, would be of much help.

      @@channutevari1110 Yupp brother give it a try. You'll never regret. Till now I've clocked 12,000 kms on rolon brass coated chain sprocket. Comparing to the stock chain sprocket Its little bit bigger. Chain noise completely gone. And I'm sure that it will last another 8000 kms easily. I clean and lube the chain every 600 kms. And to increase the sprocket life after 8000 kms change the front sprocket which will cost you about ₹150.

      @@_mt_throttler._4019 will definitely try bro... My stock ones are still in good shape even after 14k, I guess it will last a 8 to 10k more. I too clean and lube after every 500k, but the problem with the stock is you need to reset the very often which is kinda annoying, my chain is left with only 4 more settings 😅. Hope not to see this issue in rolon ones.

      @@channutevari1110 whether you believe it or not till now i have adjusted only once. You won't believe it until you try it. Rolon is really bang for bucks.

    Apart from the brass coated type, it seems that Rolon has black colored sprocket kits (in original OEM packing) as well for most bikes. Found one for my R15 v2 recently at a nearby retail shop. It is much cheaper than what the OEM costs! To be specific, OEM costs 2,400 whereas, Rolon (black type) costs 1,700. The brass coated variant costs some where near 2,700 or so. Which one should i opt for brother? Pls guide.

      Brass coated is helpful in a situation where you face a lot of rust problem. Let's say monsoon are coming or in your city there lot of rains so you can go for brass coat. It will help in keeping rust away. I live in Chennai so rust formation can be faster in coastal cities. So based on this you can buy brass or normal one. I hope this helps.

    yamaha r3 stock chain sprocket set is also same price range of rolon, is it worth considering over the stock one?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  2 роки тому +2

      Rolon has increased the price a bit. It's now around 500₹ extra over the stock one. I'm on my 2nd set of Rolon brass coated chain/sprocket kit.
      There's no performance advantage. Life is under 20K kms depending on how you ride.
      There are 2 areas where it is better than the stock-
      1. No rust because of brass coating
      2. Quieter than the stock.
      Cheers!

    I also own a r3, and have to change the sprocket set. can you advise whether to go with rolon or the Yamaha product

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  2 роки тому +1

      I think both of them have similar life.. If you are in coastal areas then the brass coating helps in preventing rust. Even with X-Ring Rolon didn't last longer. However, definitely worth a try. Cheers!

    Hi, I have FZ25 , co chain ⛓️ sprocket price 2100 and brass one is approx 2500 , it is worth 400+ for a chain or i just stick to stock ones ?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Рік тому +1

      A few advantages with Rolon
      -low noise
      -no rusting because of brass coating
      -good performance, no power loss
      -X-ring give better lubrication
      For me chain/sprocket life was same as stock one on the R3. I would say it's worth the 400₹.

    Which is better lock chain or rivet type chain?

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Рік тому +1

      Hey... Performance wise there is no difference. Already locked chain and riveted type chains are the best from a safety point of view. Clip style link can be a bit risky. Avoid this. I have used clip style too without any problems in the past but if you can.... avoid it.

    • @HighwayToHill
      @HighwayToHill  Рік тому +3

      I have been sticking to Rolon.
      1. Price is almost same.
      2. Easily available within 2-3 days.
      3. Same life. Same performance.
      4. Quieter.
      5. Coating provides protection against rust. I live in a coastal city so it's important for me.
      Cheers! Thanks for your message!
