I consider it a great privilege to be able to watch and listen to the conference from my home. What I heard from Gods servants was essentially to keep faith and maintain our covenants regardless the obstacles in our lives. I'm grateful for the Church and servants of God.

I feel so bad for my family that believes all this bs… they keep piling on the guilt the shame the lies the fear of doubting or the fear of not being good enough… all that bs keeps them in line paying there dues and ignoring reality. And REAL family relationships… 😢💔

I too, lost my whole family, including my little children. My wife told me to stop praying for her and our children. She took down pictures of Christ, all the family pictures, and told me to leave because I believe in Jesus Christ. I'm sorry your family has been torn. I know that God will heal all the wrongs done in this life! May peace and the love of God be with you.

I sympathize. My family of origin is six people, and I’m the youngest of four. In my 50’s now, and my family has experienced 9 marriages. 6 of them failed, and all but one involved the three family members who are still TBM’s. The church played a primary role not only in those marriages, but in their failures. My wife and I have been happily married for 30 years and have strong relationships with our adult children, even though we left the church more than 20 years ago. Ironically, my twice-divorced mother prays every day that my wife and I will “come back.”

@@nathanm1820 I’m sorry this happened. As has been the case with many of the commenters here, it sounds like you and your wife were faced with a decision between church and family. In the case of my mother and half my siblings, the church wins that battle hands down, without much of a fight.

I guess Uchtdorf hasn’t heard of photosynthesis which works through foliage on branches. Overwatering roots can also cause rot.

Regarding Uchtdorf, Roots and branches analogy: the church teaches “by their fruits, ye shall know them“ , Branches are produced because of the roots. If the foundation of the church produces something, they don’t want you to look at, that’s a problem.
