Mass Relays aren't catapults, they create tunnels of 'massless' space that allows travel orders of magnitude above lightspeed, I think from your description the Mass Driver is more like SpinLaunch's Kinetic Launch System, which does quite literally throw things into space.
"The mass driver is essentially what is seen in Mass Effect" No it isn't. A mass driver is just a really big rail gun, it uses electromagnetic force to launch mass at high speed. The Mass relays in Mass Effect worked by creating corridors of space that had negative mass, allowing space craft traveling along them to move faster than light. Mass Effect and the mass relays are basically a techno babble explanation for FTL travel and are hypothetical at best, Mass Drivers meanwhile actually exist to some extent today and the one in Cyberpunk could be made in real life right now if the money and political demand were there.

The ESA faltered by burdening the High Riders with semi-slave labor. He had everything in his hands, but he paid the price for his unbridled ambition. Good for the High Riders... the first "Belters."
The ch in Tycho is pronounced like a K, as in Christmas. You’re killing me!
First one here muwhahahaha, also thank you for bringing the cyberpunk world to life in such a immersive way
psst... 'tycho' is pronounced 'tyko' ;-)
The funniest thing is of course that the ESA actually exists.
I feel like aliens in Cyberpunk would just be the most realistic of aliens. They see that Earth is basically a shithole ran by companies and are like "...eh, we're good." Lock their doors and just speed by lmfao.
They left Mars for unexplained reasons? Sounds like aliens to me
Aaah yes, Highriders. Or as we Gundam fans know them as; New types!
damn,... the more i learn about this universe the more i like it.i guess a few more hours of watching such videos, and i like it as much as i like warhammer40k lore.
the $7 Billion that the ESA spent in building their space station is only 4% of what real life USA spends on their military every year lol
There should be a dlc where you meet Lucy up there after all she is considered to be one of the two only survivors from cyberpunk edge runners, the other one being falcon
I wonder what homeless people on Crystal Palace are like. I know there are some, for sure, because in this world there always is. 👀💦
Mass Relays aren't catapults, they create tunnels of 'massless' space that allows travel orders of magnitude above lightspeed, I think from your description the Mass Driver is more like SpinLaunch's Kinetic Launch System, which does quite literally throw things into space.
Imagine one DLC but in space?
Fun fact: The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 becomes a reaction aircraft.
Surprised India and China aren't in space, considering they've always had a foothold in space.
Mass Effect and the mass relays are basically a techno babble explanation for FTL travel and are hypothetical at best, Mass Drivers meanwhile actually exist to some extent today and the one in Cyberpunk could be made in real life right now if the money and political demand were there.
i have nothing to commend but im glad you made a video about cyberpunk space lore
Yummy lore yum yum
Mr fish as always thanks for the video
If only cp2077 has some sort of a expansion pack that is sets in space
Thanks for the lore ,I have been getting into cyber punk lore and thank god I found your channel , keep up the good work 😊
This game died when it came out and the small few who play it still literally hold onto it like the gta v people.
V didn’t deserve all the shit that got smeared in his face. Neither did Johnny or Jackie.
Thanks very much, Your video brought to light things I wasn't aware of. I found it most helpful, and it's given me new ins for plot twists for both of my Highriders 1st and 2nd Stage teams for my weekly Cyberpunk Red: The Highriders TTRPG streams on Twitch.... Granted, that my take on things are a twist because I incorporate various other influences drawing from the likes of; Ghost in the Shell, Armitage the Third, Appleseed, Bubble Gum Crisis, Battle Angel Alita, Robocop, Blade Runner, Oblivion, Elysium, Repo the Genetic Opera, Johnny Mnemonic, etc.
These lore videos are awesome man. Especially pumped for phantom, binge watching these. I want to do a new playthru now but if the update is going to change the whole game I’ll wait 😬
The Cyberpunk universe offers weaponry and war tactics never before seen in the world, and some are even inconceivable in reality.
And the ESA is over here and is just like *"5 fucking ton rock lmao"*
Well if choose is qs good as they say. Space fuel must be amazing
I love the ideas Mike put forward, and how more recent Sci Fi take chunks from it. Especially that HIGHRIDER and BELTER paralel with The Expanse
We wuz space kangz n shieet
tycho reads /ˈtaɪkoʊ/, k, not ch like it's some chinese/japanese word, it's not like it's completely new word either, (it's a name of the Moon crater which is named after Tycho Brache, Danish astronomer) there's also Tycho Station in The Expanse series, besides, is it really that hard to lookup foreign pronunciation?
LMAO the usa starting the first space war out of envy 💀💀💀
Wasn't expecting new types in cyberpunk
Can definitely see a lot Gundam influence especially the design of the highriser station
Fwiw, Tycho is pronounced "tie-ko" or "tee-ko" and is a reference to Tycho Brahe
also Lucy and Songbird live on the moon
i wish they'd followed the correct plan for the crystal palace, being a 5 torus habitat. its not hard to follow the source material.
Spacepunk2077
Mobile Suit Gundam 2077
But you forgot about the reptilian technomancers of Alpha Centauri! 😂
Cool video. FYI, it's pronounced Ty Co. The "H" is silent
I like how in Cyberpunk universe Companies just NEVER learn being an asshole to people especially your employees never ends well but ALL of them are still assholes
Just like real life companies
You gonna do starfield videos when It comes out or is it not for you?
Absolutely! I’ve already applied to get early creator access so we shall see
@@WiseFish Sounds dope, can’t wait! Hope you get the early access man!
2:30 so tickets are instantly made obsolete aside from maybe exit burns and slowing down
They could be a more exciting version of the Expanse
Mike Pondsmith has got Frank Herbert-level world building.
Happy someone has dropped Frank's name. He's an OG. Love his novels man
i love how during first orbit war USA just said fuck it we ball and blowed up USSR assets amd ships off space and took over there stuff until EEC and allies intervined started smol brutal conflict. ALTOUGH if they bombed coloardo springs wouldnt US retailite via earth based assault or attacks on Eroupe at least according to americans they woulda done that long time ago
ON the power On El Shaddi Elohim Adoni Ahcad schema Israel forever Amen El Roi

On the power On virgin Mary
All the UFOs And bad gad witchcraft illuminate will be in the middle in volcano forever and every Amen
Wouldn't it be great if we could travel freely to the moon and do missions in a low gravity environment?
Man I hope Orion will be lot more about space. Considering the working title, I would say so. CP77 had a lot of space themes and cut content, hints etc. so I believe CDPR really wanted to explore the space more and just did not have time and resources to do so. It would be so cool if we could straight take gigs and stuff out there, hop on a rocket and go mercing in Crystal Palace or some station on Mars.
Ti-ko
Every lore video i watch is like being hit by a semi. I only know the very basics you pick up in the game, then I get hit with shockers of how Europe allied with the USSR and obliterated the US military command.
Maybe the USSR and ESA abandoned Mars over early fears of what happened on later stations. It's bad for business if your African wage slaves manage to overpower management and aren't in easy orbital bombardment range.
im escaping to ONE place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism..... SPACE!
*finds out its full of capitalism*
NO!
