2017 Last Lecture Series | Dean Martha Minow

The Last Lecture Series at Harvard Law School is an opportunity for selected faculty members to impart final words of wisdom on the graduating class. Dean Martha Minow delivered the final lecture in the four-part series which also included Professors Michael Klarman, Khiara Bridges and Bob Bordone. The event has been organized annually by the 3L Class Marshals since 2014.

Great! Not many people talk about their mistakes and learn and share lessons with others. The only part that disturbed me was references to the Yale Law School for not teaching the Dean copyright and anti-trust law. No law school may teach you everything you will encounter in your future life; going to a law school is a beginning. That is so with HLS as well; the sheer volume of law is so much and it changes everyday. So I thought it was a little unfair to mention Yale in that context. But I guess it is a compliment for HLS (for hiring a Dean from YLS) and for someone who read law at Yale to prepare a fresh generation of lawyers at HLS.
