I mean he's a slime what is stretchy, but his feats outside of tank summoning seem kinda more along strength than durability (being able to smash through walls and carry up to 3 slime tons).

Not to mention if you feel sceptical about sacrificing the extra speed, you can always pick up the mobile feat. You get an extra 10 feet of movement (all kinds of movement not just walking), the dash action doesn't cost extra movement on difficult terrain, and no opportunity attacks from a creature you hit for the rest of the turn. Mobile feels like an appropriate feat for the gelatinous monk

@@ultimateninjaboi Step of the Wind costs a Ki point, so you're more realistically losing at least two punches, but, also competing with things like Stunning Strike attempts and other class/subclass features. And, Mobile still works even when you miss attacks and even when you're out of Ki, so it's super clutch when things go south. You might not even know you're in over your head until after you've used Flurry of Blows only to miss every target due to bad luck. Plus, Mobile is even synergistic with the Dash usage of SotW, so no longer using it as often for disengage still doesn't make it irrelevant. Obviously, it's not necessary, but the greater resource efficiency is Highly appreciated when trying to fill the intended battlefield control role of the Monk, spreading out your attacks to Stun more targets and/or due to subclass features. Like, improved movement isn't really as helpful of a *passive* boon if you have to *actively* bleed a ki point every turn you want to use it. Of course, if you successfully Stun everything, don't need either one of them anymore.

Speaking of Homebrew Slime stuff, you can find some rules that someone literally wrote up for a slime race, they're "officially" known as the Jublexian, and come in 3 flavors, you can get the supplement over on DM's Guild. Also, there's a document filled with other slime/ooze subclasses over there, which include a Wizard that can turn themself into an ooze and a Warlock that made a deal with an intelligent ooze. Too bad Jublexian isn't an official race, then you could try to build Rimuru Tempest from That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, you could try building the rest of his inner circle but it would feel hollow and rushed if you didn't do Rimuru before everyone else.

OMG! I've been trying to figure out how to play Bouncing Boy from the Legion of Super-Heroes, and I think this is it!

I don’t know why but I enjoy the idea of this subclass way more than the wire weaver

What I like about these homebrews is they're not the power fantasies that so often come up - "My level one Wizard has 400 hit points and 30 AC with unlimited Wish spells"

From what I can gather, this feels like its biggest weakness is ranged attacks. Specifically spellcasters. Having less speed means you can't catch up to something that can, say, cast Haste or Longstrider on itself and get away from you. Or blast you with Fireball. Sure, against more martial classes, it's going to be easy to tank hits and then make it so they can't go after anyone, or even drain their health down while they flail about at you, but mages are going to be an issue

Hey tulok. Love the vid. Seems like everyone else does too. When I clicked on it it was at 3k views and 0 dislikes. I still want a Riley from awaken online build for my birthday but if that isn’t feasible I’ll take a (maybe) ranger subclass to do the character. Using health to cast spells and a spell to drain life from an opponent continuously over time.

I normally don't think I would play a monk, it's just not my style at all, but this? I could get down with this.

The wire weaver was baller, and I like this one already, 3 minutes in!
(Also, I always thought I saw glimpses if drunken fist in Po's fighting style)

Firstly really cool subversion of a resource the monk has to turn it into HP! And I love that it doesn’t cost Ki to do your thing.
    Here is my critique.
I think it has too many reactions, and I would feel bad not to be able to use slow fall deflect missiles or your two opportunity attacks because you slap the guy who slapped you.
Here’s a possible replace meant each time you hit a creature you reduce their speed by 10 feet until the end of their next turn. I think that would be really fun control tool. And if you reduce their speed to zero maybe they’re knocked prone.

Combine this with the Dark Gift: Symbiote from Van Richten's so that you also have an ooze friend who talks to you and lives inside you and you can REALLY be Venom

This is awesome. I love experiencing the out of the box thinking it took to create these. I am really excited about the Mad Scientist subclass my brother and I came up with for Artificer (Think Dr. Frankenstein, or Mister Sinister). I would love to play this through after we test play ours.
