Moon Druids get the ability "Thousand Forms" at level 14, which lets them cast Alter Self at will. Your build is an interesting take on Bards, but it's too slow to set up and requires you to dedicate most of your spell slots to keep it functioning. You also lose out on class features while transformed with Polymorph. If you're worried about mental stats, why not invest in mental stats and let the transformations fix physical stats?
Felix Gonzalez He’s probably more focused on the theme of the build rather than its effectiveness. I agree with christopher crafte, all of ben’s transformations are technically other forms of sentient beings, not animals running on mostly instincts. Ben can still think and act in mostly the same way no matter what he turns into, there may be some adjustments to these capabilities based on the form i.e. Grey Matter being a genius and Wildmutt not being able to talk not to mention the superpowers he gets from transforming but he’s turning turning into the intergalactic equivalent of other races so a spellcaster that can subtly alter his form or create effects without a drastic change in shape unless totally necessary actually makes sense for Ben.
That would be really cool especially with the Armorer UA that we had gotten recently and just flavor that it is your body morphing into the things needed to full out the role

The Alter Self spell actually works really well for most of Ben’s Aliens. Aliens like Diamondhead, Ripjaws, Humoungasaur, Rath, and many others use what could be considered “natural weapons.”

Personally, I'd go with sorcerer, maybe burn a wish spell to learn true polymorph, which I would allow as a DM, but only to replace wish, effectively forcing you to never cast it again. In 3.5, this becomes even easier as the sorcerer and wizard lists are almost exactly the same, including true polymorph.
" Mr. Mistoffelees build when?" aaaaand now I'm gonna have his song stuck in my head for weeks....but for reals I'd love to see you make a Mr. Mistoffelees build
Never seen so many arguments over a death battle arguments since goku vs superman. But if it were that easy to steal the omnitrix by cutting off Ben's hand, Ben 10 would have been a lot shorter
Well... making a build that confines to the limits of Dungeons and Dragons is a lot different than misanalyzing a character’s capabilities. Ignoring incredibly important information about the characters, and then contradicting their own evidence to make an argument. Tulok handled the material respectfully and had no pressure to encompass ALL of Ben’s abilities, only the general idea of the character. These are not comparable situations and even if they were, Tulok clearly did it better than Death Battle did.
The Agent Squid Files - As a Ben 10 fan since before I was 10, I can say that I was eventually convinced that Green Lantern would win. There’s no way the omnitrix can react faster than the Green Lantern can move, as it has never been shown reacting that quickly and saying it can is just an assumption. Green Lantern isn’t just some bloke with a light-up ring, you know.
I like your build. The way I would work it is Ben starts as a human fighter that uses fists or anything else he can find. As for the omnitrix, i would have the player roll a 1d10 when they want to transform into an alien. Before that on the character sheet there would be a list of Ben's first ten aliens and have them numbered whatever they land on that's the alien Ben transforms into. Four Arms: Advantage on strength checks and melee attacks. Fist: 1d10 bludgeon damage. Wildmutt-Advantage on perception checks allowing him to see through walls. And 1d4 slashing damage and 2d4 piercing damage Diamondhead-Advantage on constitution checks. And uses Ray of frost (you can flavor the spell to be more diamond like) Ripjaws- Advantage on dexterity checks in the water. Disadvantage on dexterity checks outside on water. And claw:1d4 slashing damage and Bite: 2d4 piercing damage. Grey Matter-advantage on dexterity and intelligence checks. You can use the spell Mending (and you could flavor it to be an intelligence check on how long it took you to fix or disassemble something) Stinkfly-advantage on dexterity and perception checks allowing him to fly and see from great distances and disadvantage on charisma checks. And use the spell Acid splash. And 2d4 piercing damage for his tail. XLR8- you could give him advantage on dexterity or give him free movement his whole turn to show his speed. And give him a 2d6 bludgeoning damage when he sideswipes someone. Ghostfreak- advantage on stealth checks when he does a stealth check he turns invisible until someone rolls a perception check higher than his stealth check. You could give him spells like minor illusion or presiditation I could see someone having fun with that of you're creative enough and the spell Fear like the person in the video said. Upgrade- advantage on intelligence checks. you could use the spells Mage hand (and flavor them as Upgrade's stretchy hands and body) and Mending to repair technology and you could mend weapons and armor when you become the item itself you could roll a intelligence check and that number will be added to the armor class or damage of the weapon. And maybe Eldritch blast for his laser attacks. Heatblast- maybe the spells Scared flame and Firebolt and Fist: 1d4 bludgeoning damage+ 1d8 fire damage.
All do my great respect for Tulok, I imagined 14draconic sorcerer for heatblast/diamondhead/stinkfly, 3totem barbarian for wildmutt/fourarms/ripjaws and an 3artillerist for upgrade/grey matter. And flavour the transformations, but not a lot of people have agreeded with me so far
i was hoping for every transformation, from every series getting a mention. we got kind of a brief overview of nine of the first ten, with the closest mention i can think of for upgrade iss freedom of movement. ben ten build is gonna need a lot more lasers, acid, cold, lightning...... hmm, how do you duplicate in dnd? multiattack?
I agree-I feel like more intelligence would’ve fit Ben, perhaps 12 or 13. He may not be book smart, but he’s shown himself to be very crafty when he’s forced to fight without the omnitrix.
Having a photographic memory doesn't make you more intelligent it just means you have a great memory which is more of a wisdom thing. Because to me wisdom is learning from your past.
Ok so I don't know where the poll would be, since I think UA-cam did a fuckywucky, so I'mma just cast my vote for Yang while we're here. Also, Ben 10 is dope, loved this episode, keep up the great work, Barbarian man
A fun take on the build, and loving seeing all the differences you can have in one class (Bard). For possible next videos, I think it might be fun to see either Flemeth (Dragon Age), Magnus Bane (Shadow Hunters/Mortal Instruments), and/or the Other Mother (Coraline).
As someone who mainly came to this channel for Final Fantasy builds, there's only one choice :D but if Barret isn't picked I'll just have to stick with the Artificer Artillerist lv17/Fighter Banneret lv3 I did to best represent his Shooty and Tanky-ness
Personally i like the idea of using a homebrew magic item that functions like the Omnitrix. Basically pick 10 monsters, ideally they would be those most easily corresponding to Ben's original 10 aliens for authenticity. It has an unlimited amount of charges but does require a short rest in between uses. Upon each use the player would flip a coin and call it, if they call it correctly they get to choose which of their ten preselected monsters they get to become, if they call the coin flip incorrectly they role a D10 and get the monster corresponding to their role, essentially emulating how Ben doesnt always get the alien he intends to.
Hey Tulak, I only recently got into D&D and discovering your channel has not only showed me really cool and fun new ways to role play, but has also taught me so much about class features, the way spells work, and how different classes can work together. All of that packaged with cool footage, jokes that accurately reference the source material, and funny descriptions. Thanks a lot! I vote green goblin. Goblin? or variant human? That being said, you didn't give Ben calligraphy? Unsubbed.
The reason building character is an impressive show is because it teaches people the flexibility of classes. We can make memes about variant humans and divine souls but I don’t think you would have found anyone who would have made Ben a bard but here we are. And I love it.
Tulok: "Because apparently something I did before this poll angered all of you?" Also Tulok: "Human. No, not variant. Just human. Come at me!" 😂😂 And to think, people were pissed about Variant Humans being prolific.
I just finished the unsleeping city and I gotta thank tulok for turning me on to dimension 20. I laughed I cried I became a better person. Thank you Tulok
I recently made a homebrew class based off Ben 10, essentially being an explorers and researchers of the creatures and entities of the multiverse. They’re an intelligence based class that can become a variety of creatures. I’ve built a system that makes it so it’s not obviously broken
So you want more challenge. I've said it before, Carl the evil cockroach wizard from ying yang yo. You might also try any transformer. There warforged shapeshifters who get ret-coned every series relaunch. Or if you want a more current challenge, there are 2 in Miraculas, tales of ladybug and cat noir. The first is Hawkmoth, a patron to warlocks. The 2nd is Chloe (I can't spell her last name). She changed her secret identity and powers more often than her underwear.
Wow I didn't know how possible this would be without Moon Druid. I love this and never would've thought Bard through grabbing spells like Polymorph, Investiture of Fire, Etherealness, etc. This is so cool. I also love the simple title haha. Just "Ben 10" not "How to Play Ben 10 in DnD"'. Please keep it this way.
I actually ended up liking this a LOT more than I thought I was going to when you said Bard. With that in mind, I don't know... I feel like a Druid can really do this "better". Am I wrong? Like the canon Omnitrix, you can use it multiple times a day, but you have to let it recharge. (Represented by Wild Shape recharging on Short or Long rests) You can still use spells to represent transformations, which is an idea I LOVE, and thought of as a fun way to save Wild Shape for big fights. You don't have access to some of the spells that I'd like, such as Fear, Haste, or Etherealness, which expertly covers Ghostfreak (the one I was having the most trouble with as a Druid) and XLR8. But then, you DO have access to spells like Entangle, Spike Growth (Wildvine) Call Lightning (Frankenstrike) Conjure Animals (Ditto/Echo-Echo) Thunderwave (Benwolf) and various other ones, including ALL of the Investiture spells. You get Shapechange instead of True Polymorph, which is closer to Ben 10,000 than TP because you can use Shapechange to rapidly become different creatures. Much like Ben 10K, you can turn into Four Arms to throw a punch, Diamondhead to shoot some spikes, Ghostfreak to phase through stuff, and back to Four Arms to engage again. TP does have the advantage of being able to stay in a form forever*, as we see Ben 10K do, but you lose the versatility of being able to turn into what you want. At level 14, you can cast Alter Self at will and at 20 you can use Wild Shape at will - Master Control accessed. A big thing for me is using Ben's stats for every creature. That rubs me the wrong way as a Bard. While I like how you did it, I feel like Wild Shape does a much better job of allowing you to manifest enhances speed, strength, senses, etc that are not your own. You can still use Enhance Ability to represent your Greymatter or Brainstorm, but Ben can only take a couple hits before he drops in his human form. His alien forms are for serious tanking. We've even seen the "excess" damage reduce his human form to 0 hp, when Kevin 11,000 beats Ben 10,000 out of his alien form and he passes out. A Dire Wolf or a Lion/Tiger represents Wildmutt pretty well, just as a Hunter Shark (or even a Giant Toad) represents Ripjaws fairly well. You've got your Elemental forms for Heatblast, Diamondhead, Upgrade (you can't possess items, but a Water Elemental works for a slimy ooze alien) and so forth. Even in your human form, you've got Control Flame or Magic Stone to represent Heatblast or Diamondhead's projectiles. You can Polymorph yourself into a Giant Ape when you need Way-Big, or into a dinosaur if you need Humongosaur or something similar. Valor Bard feels weird to me, because Ben doesn't buff his "allies", really. They usually run, hide, or assist in their own ways (magic, Plumber tech, etc) but Ben doesn't actively give them "buffs". I feel like he helps his allies by being a bigger target and charging in, at least most of the time. He jumps in front of things so that they hit him instead. All that said, I actually did really like your take as a Bardic Ben! Some of your spell reskins have definitely been added to my list of reskinnable alien spells. So, well done! I was weirded out when you said Bard and not Druid, but I think it's actually a pretty good alternative!
Great build but I think You can change Fly to Shapechange. Because It`s Omnitrix- the spell! When you need to transform for a longer period of time (or if you want to simulate Upgrade by turning in a lamp or smth) use true polymorph. But In the regular Ben style fight, Shapechange will be both more effective and In character.
Also, commenters, what are your thoughts on a build: Artificer/Cleric, Race: Aasimar or half elf, focuses on making holy adventuring gear: potions, salves, "Blessed" gear, rings of spell storing. With the spells available, this could be quite the 'my faith is my shield' kind of character. A Holy Witcher, if you will. Not to mention the amount of buff spells you can prep for the party the night before, and use various alchemical knowledge and gadgets for them too. Throw in a focus on leadership for feats? Oof, they can make for a meaty party.
I know Moon Druid is the obvious pick but I’m so glad Ben isn’t one. If you wanted a lvl 20 Moon Druid video about a transformation-centric build, just watch the Beast Boy episode. Great video!
Holy shit when I saw the thumbnail and the title people should have seen me scrambling to get my ear buds to watch this video about my favourite character from my favourite franchise of all time Edit: I should say I made player races for almost every single alien species ever seen in Ben 10 (still working on some)
Excellent build. Definitely one of the trickier builds I've heard of. Helped me figure some stuff out for a shapeshifter character, granted may be more Warlock. Who knows? Thank you. PS Eagerly await Megaman build.
Option 2: be a druid and hope your DM lets you wild shape into aliens just for flavor. Probably doesn't have quite as much of the stuff Ben 10 does, but it gives you pretty much infinite transformations if I remember how wildshape works correctly.
One thing you could do for alien x is get the wish spell In the final magic secrets the being careful with words could represent trying to convince voices in my head
A really interesting build that I think could also be fun would be Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates (plus it will please the people who have been asking for more fire emblem character builds)
I'd honestly love to see Cecil Harvey from final fantasy 4, since he is a character that goes through a full class change. Being a Dark Knight until he faces his inner demons and relinquishes his dark sword at Mount Ordeals and comes out a paladin.
The super cartoony Ben Ten clips here felt a *little bit* like watching a Phineas and Ferb crossover, and I don't know how I feel about that. That said, I would totally play this build.

Tulok handled the material respectfully and had no pressure to encompass ALL of Ben’s abilities, only the general idea of the character. These are not comparable situations and even if they were, Tulok clearly did it better than Death Battle did.
@@theagentsquidfiles504 begs the questions, who would win? D&d Ben or d&d green lantern?
And 1d4 slashing damage and 2d4 piercing damage
Diamondhead-Advantage on constitution checks. And uses Ray of frost (you can flavor the spell to be more diamond like)
Ripjaws- Advantage on dexterity checks in the water. Disadvantage on dexterity checks outside on water. And claw:1d4 slashing damage and Bite: 2d4 piercing damage.
Grey Matter-advantage on dexterity and intelligence checks. You can use the spell Mending (and you could flavor it to be an intelligence check on how long it took you to fix or disassemble something)
Stinkfly-advantage on dexterity and perception checks allowing him to fly and see from great distances and disadvantage on charisma checks.
After seeing this, now I want a Gwen build and a Kevin Build
This was actually pretty awesome. I didn't expect it to work anywhere near this well.
I have never loved a channel this much before
Ben has a photo graphic memory in his human state, you wouldn't want to dump intelligence like that.
I agree-I feel like more intelligence would’ve fit Ben, perhaps 12 or 13. He may not be book smart, but he’s shown himself to be very crafty when he’s forced to fight without the omnitrix.
@@nerdletter3773 to be fair, though it's not shown often in the series ben at least had the potential for book smarts.
Having a photographic memory doesn't make you more intelligent it just means you have a great memory which is more of a wisdom thing. Because to me wisdom is learning from your past.
@@matsujonen or it's just the Keen mind feat
Thematically Warlock is the only class that would work, but you hit the points you mentioned, so I'd say you delivered.
I'll tell you what, I don't know what I was expecting this build to be, but I am IMPRESSED!!
Ok so I don't know where the poll would be, since I think UA-cam did a fuckywucky, so I'mma just cast my vote for Yang while we're here.
Also, Ben 10 is dope, loved this episode, keep up the great work, Barbarian man
Remember, Ben can play the guitar so a bard is totally valid.
My childhood was this show and nothing else
Honestly I figured you were going to go Moon Druid, considering how that one is all about transforming into other creatures
Inb4 he changes the title from just "Ben10"
As someone who mainly came to this channel for Final Fantasy builds, there's only one choice :D but if Barret isn't picked I'll just have to stick with the Artificer Artillerist lv17/Fighter Banneret lv3 I did to best represent his Shooty and Tanky-ness
I respect that you went to bard. I would have just said circle of the moon Druid, but this is far more impressive
Best title, straight to the point!
Love the who's line is it anyway reference!
I was not expecting this here at this time
Hey Tulak, I only recently got into D&D and discovering your channel has not only showed me really cool and fun new ways to role play, but has also taught me so much about class features, the way spells work, and how different classes can work together. All of that packaged with cool footage, jokes that accurately reference the source material, and funny descriptions. Thanks a lot! I vote green goblin. Goblin? or variant human?
That being said, you didn't give Ben calligraphy? Unsubbed.
Jacob Albertson he would be too op if he had calligraphy tools.
The reason building character is an impressive show is because it teaches people the flexibility of classes. We can make memes about variant humans and divine souls but I don’t think you would have found anyone who would have made Ben a bard but here we are. And I love it.
I would love to see a D&D build of the Emperor of Man from Warhammer 40K pre-Horus Heresy
Tulok: "Because apparently something I did before this poll angered all of you?"
Also Tulok: "Human. No, not variant. Just human. Come at me!"
😂😂
And to think, people were pissed about Variant Humans being prolific.
Once again Tulok continues to amaze me with the near limitless build videos.
“Who’s line is it anyway?” reference?! Respect, sir, respect.
"Mr. Mestopheles build when?" Well it's your show and you who makes the schedule so that's on you buddy.
(Represented by Wild Shape recharging on Short or Long rests)
You can still use spells to represent transformations, which is an idea I LOVE, and thought of as a fun way to save Wild Shape for big fights.
Tulok’s big brain making Ben 10 a bard to get the algorithm on his side
Thank you so much for giving me some really cool ideas for my valor bard build!
Time for Ratchet, a sword bard, and Clank, a lore bard, to team up.
I know Moon Druid is the obvious pick but I’m so glad Ben isn’t one. If you wanted a lvl 20 Moon Druid video about a transformation-centric build, just watch the Beast Boy episode. Great video!
Holy shit when I saw the thumbnail and the title people should have seen me scrambling to get my ear buds to watch this video about my favourite character from my favourite franchise of all time
Edit: I should say I made player races for almost every single alien species ever seen in Ben 10 (still working on some)
All I've ever wanted from this channel and I didn't even know it.
I 100 percent thought this was gonna be a Druid at first
The og series, now that was like 60 percent of my childhood
Excellent build. Definitely one of the trickier builds I've heard of. Helped me figure some stuff out for a shapeshifter character, granted may be more Warlock. Who knows? Thank you.
PS Eagerly await Megaman build.
Bard really is insane. I love it.
Ben 10 has always been one of my favorite shows since I was little. This build makes me really happy!! Can we get Natsu or Rick Sanchez next?
I just love how you mention that you can be heatblast for 10 minutes and yet you didn't mention how that actually works in context to the series.
1v1 me in PacketTracer I feel like he just skimmed the series for this build, honestly. And didn’t seem all that interested.
@@nerdletter3773 tbh it looks like he just skimmed the reboot if anything.
10k doesn't even scratch the surface, there's over 1 million forms in the omnitrix
Ben 10, no description, this is good
thanks for all the amazing vids man you've given me some great ideas for builds
a Ben 10 build? Dreams DO come true!
I love this build. Its bar far my favorite next to incineroar. Ill6 definitely be using this one in my next campaign.
I been waiting for this video for sooooo loooong
Option 2: be a druid and hope your DM lets you wild shape into aliens just for flavor. Probably doesn't have quite as much of the stuff Ben 10 does, but it gives you pretty much infinite transformations if I remember how wildshape works correctly.
"Critique: Meatbags are a form of ugliness so intolerable that they must be altered every Video"
One thing you could do for alien x is get the wish spell In the final magic secrets the being careful with words could represent trying to convince voices in my head
This is actually brilliant
I’ve been waiting for this for so long!!!
A Shaman King build could be interesting, particularly Faust IIX who channels his wife's ghost into her own skeleton.
Can’t believe this is a full bard build!
A really interesting build that I think could also be fun would be Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates (plus it will please the people who have been asking for more fire emblem character builds)
To everyone talking about moon druid, tulok likes to make distinct builds and beast boy had the moon druid covered.
I loved Ben 10 but this is the most I've seen of it side since they did that reboot.
That said, I would totally play this build.
where do you find the poll? Like is it on his Patreon, in the video card etc?
Pssst... It's not there because he accidentally uploaded the video early...
@@srvfan17 sooooo, the poll is in the Patreon?
Owl Cosmos
Bro, pay attention, he told you, “It’s not THERE (that is the part where he tells you the location of the poll) because he accidentally uploaded the video early”
Dumbass
magical item that gives you true polo-morph on a time or turn limitation. boom done
