- Beijing has warned Washington to stop arming Taiwan after the US Senate approved a bill that includes $8bn for countering China’s actions threatening America's allies in the Indo-Pacific region.

Taiwan dont need china to live
It's literally a US law that passed in 1979 after we (the US) adopted the "one China policy" and ended the mutual defense treaty. Jimmy Carter continued the full on kowtowing from Nixon on China. Congress was so annoyed that they passed the Taiwan Relations Act (veto proof: 80% of the House, 90% of the Senate), so Carter had to sign it.
_(5)to provide Taiwan with arms of a defensive character; and_
_(6)to maintain the capacity of the United States to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or the social or economic system, of the people on Taiwan._
Taiwan has been independent since before any of those people were born.

In the UN's "Final Clauses of Multilateral Treaties, Handbook" published in 2003, it says :
regarding the Taiwan Province of China, the Secretary-General follows the General Assembly’s guidance incorporated in resolution 2758 (XXVI) of the General Assembly of 25 October 1971 on the restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations. The General Assembly decided to recognize the representatives of the Government of the People’s Republic of China as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations. Hence, instruments received from the Taiwan Province of China will not be accepted by the Secretary-General in his capacity as depositary.

Spain colonized the Phillipines for 400 years, then US colonized the Philippines for 50 years, the Filipinos were exploitated to the flesh and bones. now it's an impovished country exporting large amounts of maids and nannies to Singapore, Hong Kong, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to earn some foreign currencies for their home country. There are always news of Filipino maids being abused by their employers in these countries/regions.
